The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Central Indiana, stating that the hottest and most humid air of the season is expected to start Thursday, with a possible heat index of 110 degrees. The outlook also includes a chance of thunderstorms that could produce localized flooding throughout the rest of the week. Much like windchill in the winter, the heat index measures what it really feels like outside, taking into account both the temperature and the humidity. "With the tropical system moving through right now, it's bringing in a lot of moisture and there's nothing to push the moisture out, so it's just kind of going to sit here," said Andrew White, NWS meteorologist. "Combine the heat with the high humidity, and that's how we really climb into the 100s on the heat index." With highs in the 90s, White said heat index will be 103 degrees on Thursday, 107 degrees on Friday, 105 degrees on Saturday and then 100 degrees on Sunday. ... Be careful out there for the next few days everybody. And consider this option if your vehicle A/C isn't cutting the mustard: 2
