Does Jaylon Smith have a teaching role at North Side? I thought to be a head coach, you had to be a teacher at FWCS.

Northrop has a chance to turn some heads this week against Warsaw, then North Side the following week. Snider's schedule is rough. They could go 3-6 and still represent 5A North at Lucas Oil. Let's see if Leo puts up a fight against Chatard.

Concordia plays the Eastbrook Panthers and not the Eastside Blazers this week. Eastside and Adams Central are matched up in a great game in Monroe.

The principal and head coach both stepped down today, via wane tv. Jaylon Smith will take over the Legends football program..

And I know that's why it'll never stop. But, mercy, RDP is no longer competitive in this game. Their only points this time was from stripping a CP ball carrier and returning it for a TD.

I'm not really surprised at the score. Adams Central seems to have the same level of toughness year in and year out. Had Luers returned more starters, I may have been a bit more surprised. If they continue, this series will go back and forth. It could be 5-5 after ten seasons.

Hawks soar by 28 East Noble @ Snider- Sophomore sensation steamrolled a few panthers last year..don't see them tackling him this year either. East Noble open panther stadium (sounds better than the ike) with a W. Knights by 16. Concordia @Eastside- Concordia found a much needed win last week, unfortunately they run into an Eastside who might just be a tad bit tougher at home..Blazers by 6. Dwenger @ St. Francis- Dwenger proved the cabinet is not bare..with a long snapper going to Miami next year they have the athletes..Knights vs Saints rd 1 with the Knights pulling off a squeaker by 4. North side @ New haven- maybe the Legends let a quarterback play quarterback this week. Even if they don't, the athletes will out produce schematics. Legends by 13. Northrop @ Warsaw- Bruins have a new coach who might understand a qb is a qb and allow his highly recruited playmakers to do what they do. Bruins make a statement and win by 14. South side @ St Joseph- South gave their fan base a jolt last week, hopefully it translates to them traveling better..unfortunately St Joseph and their preseason player of the year know the game is won on the field and in the trenches..huskies by 21 Noblesville @ Homestead- Dont worry sparty, basketball season is only a few months away..Millers by 28..

@WWFan same scheme but he has changed the qb to more of a pistol. They also (when starters are in) can pass pretty effectively! They did change the Defense up a bit and I’m not mad about it. Looked like a 3-3 stack.

Think again. After opening the season against Class 5A Floyd Central, Gibson Southern's non-conference schedule gets no easier Saturday night when the Titans welcome 2025 Missouri Class 2 state runner-up St. Pius X to Fort Branch. And this isn't a state finalist that graduated everyone responsible for getting them there. The Lancers are loaded. St. Pius returns its starting quarterback, its school-record-setting running back, most of its offensive line and five players who earned Class 2 All-State recognition last season. Junior QB Evan Eckrich threw for more than 2,000 yards as a sophomore. Senior RB Cody Shaver broke the school's rushing record despite playing much of the season with a broken thumb. Fellow senior Brody Ervin averaged roughly 10 yards per carry over the second half of last season. Then there's 6-foot-2½ junior WR/CB Harrison Ray, who caught 10 TD passes while averaging 26 yards per reception — and intercepted six passes on defense. St. Pius also returns two All-State linemen and enough experience that head coach Frank Ray says the expectation is another trip to Missouri's Show-Me Bowl. So what does Gibson Southern do after a heartbreaking loss in its season opener? Schedule these guys. That's becoming part of the identity of the Gibson Southern program. After watching Paoli Friday, I have some insight: Young coach — first game ever as a head coach. Paoli’s starting 11 on each side of the ball (basically the same 11) are pretty good! Between injuries and the heat, though, they were down to mainly backups for the entire second half. If the starters can stay healthy and on the field, I can see them winning some games this year. If the depth doesn’t develop and they can’t keep those starters in… 😬😬 it might start looking like my four years at Paoli. 😂

1. Carroll - The Chargers looked really really really good on Friday. Good enough that I started comparing them to great SAC teams of the past. But I'll pump the breaks a little bit until after I see what happens down at Center Grove on Friday. 2. Dwenger - They beat Roncalli. Enough said. If you think you're better than Dwenger, then prove it on the field. 3. East Noble - No one really knows how good their Week 1 opponent was on Friday, other than they're loaded with D1 talent. That being said.........19-0? One hell of a showing by the Kendallville kids. 4. Homestead - I'm not going to pull the plug on the Spartans just yet. They lost big to Westfield 49-21, but they were gritty enough to make it 35-21 at one point in the game. Losing big to Westfield doesn't mean you're not good, it just means that Homestead's chances of making a deep playoff run this year isn't looking that good. 5. Adams Central - These guys just continue to win. They reload better than any team in Northeast Indiana. Kudos to the coaching staff over there. They've built a machine that doesn't stop. 6. Snider - Warsaw returned several starters from last season, and some thought this team would be pretty good. Snider had them down 30-18 midway through the 4th, which tells me that Snider isn't so bad themselves. I'll take that game with a grain of salt............they always struggle against "Bart Ball" (Warsaw & Mishawaka). 7. Columbia City - Last Friday's impressive win over Northwood was an eye opener. I'm not sure how good Northwood is, but...............they're Northwood. Massive test this Friday against Northridge. 8. Leo - Nice win against Wayne, but we need to see more. We'll find out how tough this teams when they drive down to Indy this Friday to take on Chatard. 9. Dekalb - Impressive win against the Railroaders on Friday. Probably looking at 3-0 before getting into the meat of their schedule. 10. Northrop - Unfortunately the Bruins didn't get an opportunity to showcase themselves on Friday. That being said. They were good last year and return some serious talent. The drawback is the new head coach. We're not sure what he's capable of yet. I think this is a fair spot to put the Bruins.......................for now. On the outside looking in? Bishop Luers, Bluffton, North Side, South Side
