  1. Past hour
  2. The "mouth" of the Titans might be appropriate.
  3. In Week 2, he used some simile about a Titan receiver being "ridden like a horse" in the end zone.
  4. I’ll be attending my first live game tonight (been away), meanwhile you’re a sportscasting star of stage and screen (and radio) these days.
  5. The world's not fair. Heritage Hills, Jasper and Reitz in one sectional. Mater Dei, Memorial, Gibson Southern in another.
  6. Roncalli took such a noble stance that varsity football was the only sport they cancelled with Cathedral? Right. I’d use another word to describe Roncalli’s actions but it would get censored.
  7. Reasonably good chance of that next year but I don’t track points like I used to.
  8. If agreements mean nothing then I guess it’s baloney. Guess I forgot the “baloney” exclusions part of my Contracts class.
  9. Stir the pot until Chatard, Roncalli and Cathedral are all in the same sectional, we will.
  10. Rember when it was a gauntlet to get though the SIAC scedule....those were the days.
  11. I already told them in the college forum that they have to run the table to make the postseason. Back on topic, are we going to see the SIAC champion be a one loss team/s, or can someone run the table?
  12. It's a bunch of baloney. 1) Cathedral nor Brebeuf are diocesan schools. Nether should be held to the same standard as diocesan schools. Roncalli started hemorrhaging kids to both Cathedral and Center Grove as they were an emerging power at the time 2) Roncalli had ZERO issue scheduling Cathedral in any other IHSAA sport after this "agreement" was reneged and has been that way for the last 20 years. They used to/still(?) play freshman/JV football against Cathedral. Bottom line, Cathedral turned the tables on Roncalli after being Roncalli's whipping by for several seasons and Roncalli responded by taking their ball and going home.
  13. Today
  14. I hope all is well with you. I still pop in….plus I’m generally in daily contact with some pretty active old-timers on here.
  15. I'll be at Evansville's second best HS stadium, the Reitz Bowl, to watch the 81st Catholic battle between Reitz Memorial vs. Mater Dei. The Cats lead the all-time series 44-34-2, but the Tigers are seeking their 11th straight W in the series. While its a great rivalry, it just isn't the same without Coach Goebel between the numbers and hashes most of the night.
  16. This has been explained 1000 times. I’m seeing some annual pot stirring by CJ in this post. It had to do with an agreement reached by the Archdiocese schools, Brebeuf, Guerin and, originally, Cathedral. It wasn’t about Catholic v Non-Catholic enrollment- it had everything to do with how athletes in CYO schools could be contacted and how they could not. Coaches could talk to CYO teams as a whole in favor of coming to their school but no recruiting individually by coaches…no phone calls, etc. Archdiocese schools were limited to their feeder schools but the non-Arccdiocese had no limitation EXCEPTING there was to be no direct INDIVIDUAL contact. Coach L back in the day couldn’t even individually promote Chatard football or talk in any way about it to kids on the Spring day they signed up for classes at Chatard. I know it because I witnessed it on the day of sign-up. All these schools had agreed to it until Cathedral reneged. Roncalli responded as they did because of it. As much as I am not so “down” with the Royals rename I totally respected Roncalli’s decision back then….still do.
  17. Mike Pence is whatever "mother" tells him to be.
  18. Second week of conference games. St. Joe (3-0) @ Marian (1-2) Holy War '26 SB Washington (0-3) @ Penn (3-0) Elkhart (2-1) @ SB Riley (1-2) New Prairie (0-3) @ SB Adams (2-1)
  19. I agree with this thinking. I hate the "Vegas would favor this 9-3 SEC team H2H vs an 11-1 or 12-0 other conference team" arguments. There should be some recognition for actually winning games and not hypothetical ones on paper.
  20. Westfield at Noblesville tonight, keeping an eye on Avon at Brownsburg also. Can't wait for the September 25 game to come along
  21. Mike Pence said he was an "Evangelical Catholic" you know. Just sayin' Could this be the prelude to the new Spanish Inquisition?
  22. I think accepting non-Catholics was part of the "New Evangelization" call made by Pope Ben in 2012, especially if the young men have football skills.
  23. I began at Cathedral in 1957 and there were about 10%, or so, non Catholics enrolled at that time. IMO, it's a good thing for both Catholics and non Catholics, as I learned as much about other faith lives as they learned about mine. It's just a shame that some hold having non Catholics against Cathedral. I'm sure glad that Cathedral maintains the tradition of inclusion, both racially and religiously.
