I’ve also heard some say it eliminates the ability for the cash to be stolen. The less hands you have handling your money the less people you have to worry about breaking your trust. Despite all of that, I still prefer the old school ways. The horror stories are so few and far between.1 point

I think this is less about a grand conspiracy to elimate cash than it is just being lazy. Now they don't have to do all the things necssary to manage a cash box and run to the bank. It's more about basic human effort.1 point
