I'm not sure why people continue to wonder if EC will run up the score on someone. I don't recall a game they did that with the current staff and coach meiners has spoken about the importance of getting younger guys in on Friday nights.
Coffin K9.. i believe i seen one of your post predict a score of Batesville 38 EC 35.. The last time EC gave up more than 15 points to a conference school was 2017...
There was nothing close to a fight in the EC/Harrison game. Helms was tackled about 10 yards out of bounds and some words were exchanged.
Burton is more than capable of leading a solid passing attack. He's just never asked to throw much with Ringer in the backfield.
Hard fought game by both sides last night. I'm not sure when the last time EC has had a duo like Ringer and Brotherton. Also, this defense continues to be special.
Congrats to Evansville Memorial on a heck of a season
The sad part is that it was not a called fake punt by the coaching staff. Sam made a read and took off. He actually injured his leg during wrestling season and beat the timeline to make it back for this season. He is a great young man.
Losing Sam is definately a hit to the secondary but I think EC will be ok. They have plenty of experience back there as they start all seniors in the secondary. Sam has not run as much wildcat in recent weeks now that Josh Ringer is back.
I like EC by 10 in this one.. Only 2 teams have really slowed down their offense and that's Roncalli and Moeller. The offense has seemed to find a different gear with Josh Ringer back in the mix in the backfield.. It will be fun to watch.. Good luck to all.
EC does run more spread this year than years past. I don't think we're as big as years past on the oline but I would argue js more athletic. This is the most weapons that we've had on offense in quite sometime. Josh Ringer is the superstar sophomore running back that missed 8 games this year due to injury. For the 1st time in a long time EC finally has an offense that can hurt you in the passing game if you load up the box.
You're correct on EC running more spread this year.. They have run out of a lot of different formations to best utilize what they have. I don't believe they have the size of previous years but they have more speed. They're very dynamic on trying to get their speed in space.
#1 and #20 are 2 of the most skilled receivers that they've had in a while. The offense is more athletic then years past and the offensive staff is doing a nice job getting those guys the ball in space.
For East Central it will be interesting to see how healthy Josh Ringer is and how he gets back into the flow of the offense. This is the most well rounded offense that EC has had in some time.
