EC would love to play a tougher schedule. Coach Meiners has said as much during his tenure. However, there's some scheduling situations that they can't/won't get out of. They play 6 conference teams and their archrival Harrison(OH). That gives them 2 weeks to play with and they've filled that with Moeller(OH) and Roncalli. Lawrenceburg and Batesville were both ranked in the top 10 in 3a when they played and Moeller has been a top 5 d1 school in Ohio. Would EC be undefeated with a tougher schedule? Probably not.. However, I would take this years team in a 1 game scenario against just about anyone.

I could be wrong but I think the only 2 way player is Maxwell. He plays LB on defense and has been getting carries on offense.

I'm quite surprised to see multiple people say this game won't be close friday night. Sagarin, Massey and Cal Preps are all saying this game should be within a touchdown or 2. Admittedly I have not seen New Pal play. What makes people think this game will be a blow out?

Yea after watching the video that will be called a defensive hold almost every time. I think Batesvilles coach was letting the emotions get the best of him on the post-game.

I would agree that you couldn't really tell on the livestream. Batesville's head coach during his post-game comments mentioned it was a pick play with the receiver blocking the DB down field. The DB grabbed him to try to get through the pick to go cover his guy. Batesville's coach called it a mistake by the officials and should been an offensive pass interference.

The schedule will always be weaker than others as long as EC remains in the EIAC. I think they do a pretty good job with trying to beef up the non conference.

This East Central team is special.. Ringer, Brotherton, Burton, Maxwell is a hard 4 to stop. I also think the defense doesn't get nearly enough attention.

Its a great place to watch a game. Batesville had one of the better game plans that I've seen against EC this year. Very physical team with a quick dline. It's one of those make sure your chin strap is buckled extra tight type of games.

I can only speak from experience when EC has played at Batesville. The home side is on the left in that picture and is covered by the roof. If you want a seat on the visitors side I would get there early. There is a good amount of space to stand along the fence.

Opponents enrollment is the number 1 criteria for EC scheduling.

They did.. Batesville's only loss came at home against East Central.

The trojans with their longest travel of the season. I know Roncalli graduated a ton of players from last years squad.. What can EC expect from this years team? Same style of offense as the last few years? Can Roncalli's defense contain the run? Can't wait for Friday night

Coach was on a podcast earlier in the week and he said they usually have 110+ 9 through 12.. 100+ this year in 7th/8th.. 360 K through 6.

I would expect a little drop off due to having to replace the production of Brotherton, Ringer and Burton on offense and a good amount on defense. That's a tall task for most schools. They do have a freshman running back that has gotten in on Friday nights that has shown flashes. I would guess they will lean on him a bunch and the returning starters on the oline.

EC will move up with a trip to semi-state.
