Yeah you're right, D-1 might be a stretch but let me phrase it this way.. He has 30%ish of Leo's carries on the ground, avg 11+ypc with 1300yds and 19tds on the season. If he was the centerpiece of their run game he would be 2000+ with 30tds or more. That's not Leo's offense though.
And this game will not be close.. This is not the same Leo team from last year.
Yikes

Wow, what a problem to have. Having so many kids you actually can’t dress them all.

Maybe an injury?? Maybe MC thought they could right the ship in the second half and save him for “next week” 👀😳
Had to watch the webcast and couldn’t really see with the mud, but I’m pretty sure they didn’t give the ball to any FB/RB in the second half in a mud bowl.
-
Can someone please tell me how Joel Kennedy didn’t get any carries in the second half? I’m super pumped SA won, but that game was basically handed to them on a silver platter.

You ever listen to one of the most successful coaches in NCAA’s history. He never passed the football! Three things can happen when you pass and two of the three are bad. Why pass?
Because at some point, you may need to pass. And it makes your offense way more dangerous. Sure, run 20 times, then pop off an unexpected pass. That opens the running game up even more then if they have to defend that. Refusing to run the ball is just arrogance that you’re physically better than the other team. Well what happens when you hit a team just as physical? You have to be able to do different things.
-
I’m actually amazed that Leo was able to pass that way. I know they are dominant at running, but it’s annoyed me all season how they refuse to even work on the pass. Threw it 10 times last night, had 14 going into the game.

South by Adams is coming in very banged up, hoping to just make it out without any additional injuries.

And what exactly makes you say this?
I’m talking plays gaining 8 yards on 1st and 10 getting a first down, obvious plays short of the marker getting a call for chains while obvious 1st downs being called short and a coach having to beg for a measurement. Players getting tackled at the 35, ball spotted on the 33. We had a play get a do-over cause they weren’t sure if they blew forward progress down or not. And that play went for a touchdown against South Adams, and I think they actually got it right not blowing it dead, but they re-played the down anyway. I can’t complain much on penalties, they’re always iffy any crew. But the stuff that’s not judgement calls was brutal.
And this didn’t cost SA the game at all, Monroe Central is the better team right now. It was just brutal.
-
I want to say Monroe Central is the best team tonight, but I’m pretty sure they have a JV crew running this game. One of the worst reffed games I’ve ever seen.

Thought on AC v SA at Monroe? I’ve seen them both in thuds early this year. I think I’d put the line at AC +7 at home.
I would put a lot of money on that line. I haven’t seen AC yet, but I know a whole new offensive and defensive lines for SA could struggle. SA is going to be a lot better than many expect, but I could see them struggling to stop Heyerly.
-
Looks like they just rolled forward last year’s poll. As much as I enjoy South Adams at 2, they just aren’t there, at least right now based on all they lost.

This will be sort of a make or break year IMO.
Injuries combined with Temptation’s Covid pass means the jury is still out.
Context is everything with Brohm. Flipped an awful program to two straight bowl games his first two years then had two years of unprecedented injuries/Covid. Was he perfect, no. Is he actually currently on a hot seat? Absolutely not.

Always looked at the game as opportunity for small school players to prove themselves. Just as MVP of this year's game was last second fill-in from Class A, many very good players still get missed. For example, ever see Dan Stryzinski's stats from North-South game?
And you can argue that James Arnold, a 1A QB, should’ve been MVP for the north as well.

I am fine with every class being represented. There are some good players at lower levels as the game MVP demonstrated.
I hardly think one South win, when North had won 5 straight previously, is cause for urgent change.
I also did not go, but those I talked to that did thought North had an athletic advantage prior to the game. Uncle Mo jumped on the south side after the pick 6 to open scoring. Then special teams really swung the outcome to make it appear more lopsided.
The game really is closer if not for special teams mishaps. I talked to Grant after, and we agreed that most of these kids haven’t played special teams in several years. And I don’t recall, but does a long snapper get selected? That’s a big part of the game that all star guys like these, especially at bigger schools, don’t do. Maybe there’s a case to change up special teams? Then again, this may not be an issue in most years. This was the first game I’ve seen since it was South Adams heavy.

They said on the broadcast and in the news paper he is going to Davenport University in Grand Rapids Michigan. Very impressive showing by him and he was an All Star fill in that got a phone call a couple of days prior to start of All Star events to sub in for an injured RB that was on the South All Star Roster. Then he ends up with the MVP 6 carries 101 yds 2 TD's (25 yd and 63 yd rushing TD). Great game by this young man.
That’s ridiculous he didn’t already have an offer. That kid starts at every high school in Indiana no question. Someone’s gonna find out about Wilson someday and he’s gonna be playing somewhere big, size be damned.

That was a fun game to watch. The kid from Covenant Christian runs like a deer. Reminds me of a running back from long ago but I won't go there. Where is he playing next year?
As of now, still looking. That kid is one of the best athletes I’ve ever seen play high school football. And as a South Adams fan, gave me feel PTSD last night.

Absolutely! Turf fields, massive stadiums, corporate sponsorships, etc. are nice, but legends like Red Grange and Jim Thorpe didn't have them.
It’s not even all that, its the love of the game for me. Most 1A guys aren’t playing in college and just play for the love of the sport and love for their teammates and community.

Sorry to ruin the thread about you boasting about your program. My bad, won’t happen again. Will stop talking about things I know nothing about.

No. That's what happens after you build a better program. Your ignorant comment implies that CG influenced those players to move. That's factually inaccurate and a lazy comment from you.

The IFCA All State Teams have been announced and most Region All Star Teams (that lead to the North/South Game selections) have been picked. Why is the AP All-State team so important?
1. Because that includes awards for all players, not just upperclassmen. That, along with honorable mention, is able to get more deserving kids involved.
2. It’s a cool honor that I want to see. I’m a South Adams fan, I want to see how many kids made it. We had our best year ever, and this is the final thing to finally close out this year.
I know it’s no big deal, I should just be patient. It’s just annoying how it’s almost March and we can’t finish out football. I just want it done.

This isn’t the first time 62 pulled crap like that. He had to be kicked out of a scrimmage at SA this summer for doing the same thing against Luers.
