This could also make a really cool rivalry week in the SIAC
MD vs Reitz
Bosse vs Harrison
Warrick County Castle vs Boonville
Memorial vs Jasper
County line Gibson So. Vs North
Central vs Lincoln is really odd but left over in this scenario
North v Central is a must play! It is a pretty bitter rivalry.
Let Gibson and VL play that neighboring county rivalry.

Just for fun, take a look at this. It was submitted to the SIAC ADs a few years ago. I created it when the news began to float around about Mt. Carmel. I sent it to my AD and suggested that the conference get out ahead of the inevitable changes that have since happened. Did not go over really well. I do believe that it could have worked though. I still do. Allows for protection of traditional rivalries, crossover games, and a championship week that only has limited potential to create a tournament rematch. With the way the PAC is now structured, there is zero chance that a change like this happens without someone leaving unexpectedly.
BTW @Titan32, Columbus might be out of your Indy Metro scope, but I'd bet Southport is not.
There is a need to schedule outside of the "Pocket" that is southwest Indiana. It serves the programs well, in multiple sports, that have had the foresight to leave this bubble and challenge themselves. It does not have to be Indy, but scheduling outside opponents and taking the kids on the road is always a positive.

I thought Schiff was a year or two younger than Shannon/Cutler? Guess I didn't realize Shannon and Cutler were same grade. Shannon did break the rushing record in his senior season but was also upset by Plainfield in the sectional.
Schiff was two years younger than Cutler. Cutler was 2000, Schiff was 2002.

For the record, I was really hoping for a Bloomington game for the Irish. I had rooms reserved for the night and a 3:30p Indiana Hoosiers kick on Saturday. As horrific as the Hoosiers have been this year, God smiled on us again with a New Albany win and a local game. We do actually like to travel no matter what PHJ says....
This way you can head to Wrigley for the Boilers!

Youth football needs to start embracing rugby more adamantly

In the scene you painted originally, it is really hard to see things like specific tackling form in the moment, when it happens in a crowd at the goal line. However, if I am able to see it, I am going to congratulate the player on making the play and simultaneously remind him how lucky he is to not have been hurt on the play. It is our job to be able to do both of those things. Proper tackling technique is paramount in our attempt to make football as safe as possible. Football is not a
"safe" sport, and it is up to us as coaches to teach techniques that can help to mitigate the risks associated with playing it.
