I have no questions...you are charging 110.00 after April 1....lets be honest..you and the others like you are getting paid mostly by parents of kids that have no varsity game tape.  D2,3, NAIA don't offer roster spots until a kids senior year after the kid and parents realize D1 offers are few or non existent, which is great because U Indy and Marian pick up stud Indiana players.  "none of them are going to happen this summer"...do you have confirmation that come May/June  area schools are canceling for a second year in a row?

I think schools will have camps, but there will not be mega showcases this summer on campuses. We are putting on a showcase, and are advertising it as such. I am not sure why the negativity. This is simply another opportunity, and another part of the recruiting process. You focused on the $110 after April first. Rather than the $60 before March 1st, why?

you are competing with several other "showcase" camps around the same time....charging a large amount of scratch to attend.  You will see mostly the same kids attend and by doing so they get the head shot photograph followed by a positive twitter mention by some wanna be scout.  Its as buddy system.   A ton of freshman/sophomore will attend and get zero from these "showcases" especially if they have no varsity game tape .  Most of these kids will avoid the combines because they actually capture athletic measurements.  "college coaches attending"....maybe...no D1 can attend not they we would anyway.   Now that this Covid bullshit is going away college camps should be resuming this summer....Sycamores, U Indy, Purdue etc.  is where the time and money should go.

I completely understand and agree to some degree with your sentiment.  Showcases have become the norm when it comes to recruiting exposure as they are the best ways to get tangible stats and perform in front of college coaches.  The facts are that we have had MANY college programs represented at our showcases over the last couple of years in December, and every one of these showcases have resulted in players receiving opportunities that they may not have gotten otherwise.  There is no reason for a D1 coach to attend a showcase, as the players they are recruiting do not, by and large, attend them.  Those players attend on campus workouts and showcase camps that they are invited to attend.

To address the on campus events, the ones that are beneficial are the mega camps, where large numbers of college staffs are represented.  Unfortunately, none of them are going to happen this summer because of Covid and numbers.  UINDY hosted a mega, but the other campuses are hosting team camps and showcase events just like ours, but those schools are watching the athletes that they have invited.

This is an imperfect system and all we are trying to do is provide kids with opportunities to perform on the field.  Every camp is attended by players and payers.  Some athletes will earn opportunities and some will not.  Our events are geared towards players who may not be D1, but are looking to get in front of DII, DIII, NAIA, and JUCO programs.

I would be happy to answer any other questions, or address any other concerns.

    Thanks

I think the plan was to turn North into McCutchanville / Cambridge / Oak Meadow high school.  But then they realized their sports would be better off if they kept some of the Evans kids around.

North's district shouldn't come south of Diamond or cross 41.  I understand that didn't make sense with the old building's location.

Sports had little to no impact on the districting of Evansville.  The current districts took two main components into consideration, and they are in this order.

    1. "Culture"
    2. Geography

Zoomed in, there are some areas Bosse could absorb from the North District, if another realignment is planned

Wow, I did not know it’s been 30 years, always thought they redid it when the new North opened

Sure has ... Could absorb areas from each of the other five high schools.  All have pieces of the Bosse pie.

I have a feeling they will start shifting the districts soon again

Here is the map for people who can’t find it

    https://district.evscschools.com/UserFiles/Servers/Server_74688/File/About Us/Attendance Districts/evsc-building-map.pdf

They have not for thirty years or better, why would they now.  The perfect opportunity was when the new North building was relocated.  It was the perfect opportunity to make some changes and they did not.

  6. My last season at Bosse we had a female official begin doing games in Evansville.  She did a great job, and hopefully will be holding the door so to speak for more women in the future.  I actually believe 5that there is some great benefit to not having played the game as an official.  So long as you do your homework, it removes some of the bias that exists with those who have played.

    Question for Bobref

Does Iggy play its home games at Wasmer Field?  Looks there is almost no seating from the satellite view

I believe the Iggys play at Byers Field in Parma when they’re at home.

That is correct, they do play home games at Byers Field. My cousin graduated from Ignatius a handful of years ago. It is down the page on the link below.

Side Note: Great Lakes Brewery is right across the street from the Ignatius campus and has both excellent food and beverages.

Why would a school in Indianapolis travel to Terre Haute, if they have similar schools next door?

Why would Bedford, Bloomington, or Martinsville travel to Terre Haute, when they have smaller schools next door?

Why would Terre Haute's neighbors play them now that they are gigantic?

I think that those are all valid questions, and they should all be posed alongside the one I asked.

@eschnur66 There was apparently a feasibility study done on this-

By far the cheapest option is to just renovate. If Terre Haute has a declining population the most cost-effective thing they could do would be to renovate the three current high schools, and close down their feeder middle schools, similar to what EVSC did with North J/SHS.

    That is really interesting information.

-and doing so would be an absolutely awful decision for Terre Haute. Elkhart is next to Penn and Warsaw. Terre Haute has no other large school neighbors.

Serious question: Would it not be more appealing if Terre Haute only had one school to travel to, rather than two?  At this point, it seems as if they are two schools on an island that come as a package deal.  With consolidation, they would create a situation where the one single school, which would seemingly become extremely competitive almost instantly in every sport, becomes a much more logical addition to several conferences.

I am not sure that a single Terre Haute high school would not have had a shot at getting into the SIAC to create a 12 team league.  One trip to Terre Haute every other year in all sports is much more logical than a trip in every sport, every year.

Speaking of Cathy kids... the Ekiyor kid was way better than this Avon kid. Id vote for McCahill over him.

Not so fast my friend.  Look at their tapes next to one another.  Both dominant at their positions, however neither is WAY better than the other.  You could, in fact make a pretty solid argument that one has much more impressive highlights!  #Fisher4MRFBALL
