Probably not, and Chatard was a monster last year!!  They may not play until week 6 then who knows!!  The key word was AT in my previous statement.  Who would want to drive 4 hours for an opener and lose.  At least Chatard is some what close.

I would not want to drive 4 hours to any place that is less than 3 hours away for any reason!  LOL

Tearing the roof off the bleachers?.?.?

NEVER ... They have redone the bathrooms, concession area, and have stripped and refinished all of the concrete.  As well as replacing all of the aluminum bleachers on the home side.  Ran into some complications with the condition of the concrete during the process, but it will be ready for football week 4.

Indiana was recruiting against Ball State, Eastern Michigan and Columbia College for this player.  That sounds like the "old" IU.

I am a dyed in the wool Boilermaker, so if IU never wins another game, GREAT!  However, if you will remember back to the Bill Mallory days, he recruited many players that were not necessarily "Blue Chip" type guys because they were from Indiana and CARE tremendously how successful the team is.  Culture builders, and guys that improve the program because of their vested interest!

If you have been through the process, you would not be asking me this.
    Unrecruited walk on

    Recruited walk on

    preferred walk on

If you have been through the process, you would know that a Preferred Walk-On and and Recruited Walk-On are the same thing.  An Unrecruited Walk-On is someone who participates in an open try-out sometime prior to the start of spring practice during the early part of the spring semester.  That is a rough process and not many make it through, but all of the guys that make it through that process could have been valued contributors at smaller schools.  Should the major program HC encourage them to leave and go elsewhere in the name of the health of small college football?

    Sure, scholarship caps.

Point taken, PWO’s help persuade athletes from going to less fortunate schools, including but not limited to the smaller Dl schools.

Completely disagreed, big time coaches have an obligation to the health of football over all.  Including small colleges and schools , not just the upper echelon, elite.

So is, the health of football over all, writing their checks?  Head coaches are responsible for the health of the football in their programs.  Period

I just hope Coach Morris will hold a little more sway when it comes to potential upgrades to the football facilities, as Hatchet Hollow is in desperate need of some. I realize this is easier said than done, but removing the track to extend the sideline along with a resurfacing job and new grass would completely change the entire complexion of the field.

VL was in a similar situation with Inman Field a few years back, although not as dire.

I would take the tight sidelines of hatchet Hallow any day to stay out of those New Deal visitor locker rooms at Inman Field!  🤣  They are the worst.  I hated them in 2001 when I played and they have not been touched since.  In all seriousness, you think that there is any chance they get some TLC with the move to he SIAC .... Not that all the City facilities are great.

Johnny Football will have a degree from a world-class university that's the only Public Ivy in Indiana, while also having had the opportunity to be part of a Big Ten football team?

There's a lot more to college football than the 11 guys on the field at any given time. IU's PWO program is opening up opportunities for student-athletes, and while many PWOs never see the field, some become scholarship players, team captains and more, but all have the opportunity to pursue a degree from a world-class university. I'm proud of my IU degree and the places where it has led me.

There is only one public university in the state of Indiana that has any type of Ivy in its broad reputation. It is not located in Bloomington!
