1A Tournament Discussion
littledog replied to Jays's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Should of just stuck with what my gut was telling me. Anyone have the scoop on Providence? -
This team is obviously impressive but you can see how much Lambert and his staff have grown as coaches. They work their butts off and continue to improve each year.

Semi State 3a Luers vs. Garrett
littledog replied to MikeTyson15's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I agree. Think Luers has the horses to keep up on the trenches too. And I doubt luers is as bad as Knox at defending the pass. -
Think the jays handle their business and win this game by a 3-4 scores. They’ve been so focused on one goal since the season came to an end last year. This will be a tough game since you don’t see many 1A teams that can sling it like they can. It may take a couple of drives for them to adjust but Lambert and Co are great at making adjustments. jays win 63-28.

3a Tourney Predictions

Garrett struggling with Knox offense… funny -
North Judson at Taylor- Taylor has had one heck of a turn around for their program. They have great athletes at QB and RB and at other skills positions as well. They aren't great up front but they use their screen game well to slow down the defensive pressure. I think they get a score or two before the jays make their adjustments but not much more than that. Jays win 52-14 North Miami at South Adams- I think South Adams is very similar to Taylor in regards to their main strength is at the skill positions. I caught the second half of their game against MG and came out really impressed with the QB for SA. One of the better throwers I've seen at the 1A level in a while! Hoping North Miami wins but I think SA wins this shootout. SA 42-35

Extremely surprised by the pioneer score. Figured Taylor would score some points on them but expected the Panthers to be able to move the ball however they wanted.
-
LaVille at North Judson- Every year this is a tough battled game and both teams are a much improved team since their week 2 matchup. Hopefully judson does not overlook them but my belief is that Judson will continue to handle their business. Weird things always happen at LaVille... Jays win 30-14 Taylor at Pioneer- Taylor has certainly had an up and down season and seems like a team that can surprise anyone. Pioneer has had a quietly good season that has gone under the radar to anyone outside the HNAC conference until last Friday's beatdown of Carrol. Both teams have great athletes at QB but Pioneer's discipline makes the difference. Panthers win 35-14 Triton at North Miami- Both of these teams have been playing well since their last matchup. Think this game is truly a toss up. It may depend on which team gets distracted by the Ham salad sandwhiches on the sideline. 🤣 Triton wins 22-21

I surprisingly agree with 2 of your posts today. however, he won’t be the best player in the conference next year. He may be the best “skill” player but I’m taking CJ Sanchez as the best overall player next year.
-
Everyone is questioning what happened to Carrol but pioneer is just a good team that came out and executed their game plan. All of their losses are to really good teams.
-
I'm there will you on all these. I think Pioneer has been prepping for Carrol for a few weeks now. Hopefully they are fully healthy and can pull off the upset. North Miami will be the only other game within 4 scores. Still think they pull away late to win by a score or 2.

1A Tournament Discussion

My guesses are: The North representative will be one of the 3 teams that had their season ended by Adams Central last year. (NJSP, MG or Carrol) South will be one of the 2 teams that had their season ended by Lutheran last year. (South putnam or Providence) Gut Says NJSP vs Providence in the title game but both teams will need to bring their A game each week. Both MG and South Putnam are BIG but i think they fall a game short. However, both teams have what it takes to win it all. -
8-0 Frontier vs 9-0 Carroll
littledog replied to Gap Down Backer's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I'm thinking Carroll 35-0. Don't see Frontier scoring much on this battle tested Carrol team. -
South Newton at North Judson- NJ and LaVille both have the easy draws to set up a rematch in the sectional final. Hopefully jays continue to keep their guys in shape. NJSP 60-0 South Central at Culver- Rematch of last week. Culver gets payback when it matters. 20-14 Pioneer at Caston- Pioneer put up more points on NJ than i thought they would and they'll put up as many as they want this game. Pioneer 46-7 Taylor at Winamac- The young warriors win in a close one. 28-27 Southwood at Triton- Triton's defense is too much . Triton 35-0 Blackhawk at North Miami- NM faces a terrbile blackhawk team. Gets a little extra preparation for their rematch with Triton in a few weeks. NM 48-0

Who takes over as coach for the Trojans?
-
I too would welcome them and would love having them in the conference. 2000-2009 they became Judsons main rival (outside of knox). It felt like every sport we were meeting them in the sectional championship. If Knox and LaVille did not leave the conference i feel they would of been a much better fit. Now, they may feel too big for the HNAC.
-
i believe so.
-
Culver at South Central - Think culver dominates the line of scrimmage and pulls out the win by a couple scores. Culver 35-20 North Judson at Pioneer- Didn't realize Pioneer's numbers were what they were. Hopefully both teams just stay healthy for the playoff run. - NJSP 48-0 Triton at North Miami- Should be a good game. Look for Triton's defense to make more stops though. Triton 28-19 Winamac at Caston- Winamac wins this one. 35-21
-
Caston at North Judson - Jays roll on senior night. Caston should have a good matchup next week with Winamac. 56-0 North Miami at Culver- Warriors ground game is too much for the Cavaliers. 40-14 Pioneer at Triton- Game of the week for sure. Right now i think it's a pretty close matchup but Pioneer probably has the better offense. Pioneer 21-7 South Central at Winamac- SCUM stays winless in the conference. 35-14
-
Agreed. The downfall about Liberty field is long journey for the visitors. maybe it’s done on purpose.. 😉
-
I didn’t say it wasn’t a rivalry. Take offense to it if you want but this time it wasn’t meant to be. Judson just takes it as another game against an opponent. Not just in football either.’ Prime example is last years basketball game. Judson was flat all game And showed very little emotion. Meanwhile Winamac stormed the court for a regular season win.
-
Do any of the underdogs score this week? Culver at Pioneer- Panthers continue to round into form. Pioneer 48-0 South Central at North Miami- NM has turned out to be a good addition to the conference. 42-0 Triton at Caston- Win streak ends here. Triton rebounds with another strong defensive effort. 35-0 Winamac at North Judson- This game starts slow because Winamac always treats this like a Rivalry game and Judson does not. However, judson still wins big. 50-0
