Hypothetical and a "What would you do" kind of situation.
If your opponents QB of a high powered offense is also a starter on Defense, would you game plan to potentially run your offense towards that said player a little more often to try and wear the QB down so that maybe it would also effect the offense?
If it were me, Yes. He may be a stud, but the more you get hit the more you are wore down. At least one rushing play if not more every series directly to the side that that player is on. If he lines up on a receiver, that receiver is automatically audibled to run as far down the field as possible, passing or running play.
possibility that this could also backfire if attacking that direction and he/they stop Tipton early on too many drives then Tipton could find themselves in a hole to big to come back....especially with Eastbrooks time consuming drives !

seems odd TPC would withdraw now with the week off... need more imput !

Eastbrook actually had a chance to tie the game late but threw an interception in the endzone. The penalty that happened prior to the INT hurt them or they probably would've pounded it in for the score.

I don't think they've been unable to throw the past couple seasons as much as they've been unwilling to call passing plays when they need to. They looked good throwing the ball in the first half of the 2018 state championship game and not surprisingly they led at half of that game. Then they went inexplicably went away from it in the 2nd half.
In that game, they were 7 for 8 in passing for 113 yards. In the first half, they were 6-6 for 97 yards. In the third quarter, 1-1 for 16 yards. In the fourth quarter, 0-1. Meanwhile in the 2nd half of that game they ran the ball 24 times for only 58 yards.
In 2019, they did not even attempt a pass in the 2nd half of the state title game. They were down 21-0 at halftime and did not throw the ball once in the 2nd half.
I'm not interested in what they are doing against Elwood or up 4 touchdowns against Madison Grant. The proof will be when they are in a competitive game where the other team can hold their own in the trenches and you have to be a little creative to move the ball consistently. I've heard that this new quarterback from Western is really good. I just hope his coaches allow him to show it when things are tight and they don't get overly conservative in their play calling when it matters. I really think that, and trying to play 2 QB's all year, cost them the title in 2018. Hopefully they've learned. I think 2A is wide open and if they are really better than last season, coaches included, then they will finally get their blue ring.
From the Delta game earlier this saeson, EB QB had a really nice pass in 3rd qtr that led to TD after their running game was having trouble. Only tried 1 pass after that and I kept wondering why they stuck to the running game when they needed to catch up. Maybe Coach wasn't worried about the win and wanted to test running plays against a better defense knowing the rest of the CIC wouldn't test them ?

I think moving to fewest points allowed was in theory to keep teams from running up scores if they knew tie breaker was point differential. Just one thought,
But as stated, neither her nor there.
While I believe in theory that is the best way if all games between conference foes are factored in, but if only using games between the 3 vying for title then think they wouldn't be ruuning up score as games are too competitive then point spread mite be best. Just another thought !

From my understanding;
West Lafayette was fornatue to play BC, RCHS, TL, and LCC: So common opponent there: WL won all those games: Then it went to Points Allowed to WL.
Sep. 11 Lafayette Central Catholic 1A © W 47 14 Sep. 18 at Rensselaer Central 2A © W 27 21 2OT Sep. 25 Benton Central 3A © W 65 6 Oct. 9 at Twin Lakes 3A © W 49 14 RCHS 27
LCC 47
TL 49
BC didn't matter score as they had zero wins in West, so was slotted to face NW
Thanks ! Benton Central was the other common opponent of those 3 and wondered if those games also factored in, which would have evened things out for LCC and TL if used points scored, and then went to something else.
Thanks again !

What do you do with the 12th grade student, probably a so-so athlete at best, who decides to play football for the first time? This may even be the first time this young man has decided to try extracurricular athletics.
Is he quietly persuaded to quit the team during summer workouts and practices? Does he ride the pine on the varsity squad for the entire season? Or is he allowed to play in junior varsity games?
Exactly....what do you do ???
Well looky here...

I would reckon that without him playing JV at all, he would not have been able to make those strides to get ready for Friday nights.
