NIC v.s. DAC Penn/Crown Point

I would agree. I think McAfee, Coach Saban, and the ESPN crew would go to New Pal and Cathedral. Big Noon Kickoff on Fox would cover Penn and CP. Both BIG games, but one is bigger than the other on a state (national in terms of my hypothetical/ joke) scale. -
What a Final 4 in Sectional 36
CoachMack219 replied to Coach Nowlin's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Bring 'em back. I don't believe it was/ is a problem until I see the problem. 🤣 -
If this is true he is faster than the current 3rd leading rusher for the Iowa Hawkeyes was as a Senior in High School (4.55). Between his speed, balance, vision, strength, and size there is, again, ZERO reason he is not a division 1 recruit at 1 of the 358 NCAA Division 1 University's in the country. No, I do not think Myles should be in the Big Ten, ACC, or SEC (although at some places in the Big Ten/ ACC it wouldn't hurt them to have him). I know character matters but I have not heard a single opponent, official, coach, teammate, or otherwise speak poorly about Myles in any capacity so I'll assume that is not an issue. I would bet that he's a great kid and teammate, it appears so on the film, so what's their deal? Him not being good enough is fake news so we can skip that one. LOL And yes Sir Irish, Division 2, 3, and NAIA programs are awesome and great players play there, but Myles has earned the opportunity to be recruited at the highest level not due to his stats (which of course help) but if he's done everything coach Nowlin has said on this post AND he's been performing on the field AND has measurables that fit the level, then he's earned it whether college coaches have pulled the trigger yet or not is probably entirely due to what you mentioned to start your post. It is not easy to get recruited with the changing landscape of college football recruiting/ the portal.

If he wants to play and has the grades, there is absolutely ZERO excuse for Ball State, Kent State, Akron, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, UMass, and FCS division 1's of the world to not offer this young man. Unless his 40 time starts with a 5, or starts with a 4 and has an 8 or 9 after the decimal point, HE CAN PLAY AT ANY OF THOSE PLACES I NAMED. Hell, I helped sell Iowa their 3rd leading rusher for this season when NOBODY knew how fast he was and that guy only ran for about 3300 yards over 4 years... Lol I know ole Russ can convince somebody that the young man is good (fast) enough. Charlie Spiegal is an odd one because coach Ralph's work in getting his player's recruited is common knowledge if you follow their social media(s), although he DID appear to be slower than Myles, on film. I don't know if that's fact or not though because.... no one knows how fast he is... Lol

Temp’s Top 25 (After Week 9)
CoachMack219 replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I think CP has "come down to earth a little bit" for lack of a better quote. CP is not as talented/ good as the past two years (but still really good). Penn is better than they were a year ago. Not sure about 2 years ago because I don't watch enough Penn to compare them to 2023 (who was really good but not great). I would agree with you on Penn's O/D situation and the issue with quality opponents/ preparedness for a big time game against a big time opponent (based on VERY recent history). I also like your coin toss logic but I know CP is high on their defense so they may want to test themselves right away. I wouldn't hate either choice but I like the testing of the Penn defense option better, in this instance. -

I think this year will be much like 2023 at Penn. It's going to be tight. I don't know if it'll be as high scoring but it'll be a tight game. Much more winnable for Penn than many may think. I like CP as the winner but Penn has a good chance to win this one. -

You're a nice guy, Tango. I knew that even all the way up here in the Northwest corner. I guess you're a better man than me for telling him. 🤣 -

Temp’s Top 25 (After Week 6)
CoachMack219 replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Coach, I don't know where anyone belongs. Lol if we're counting the Bombers as NWI'ers, hell yeah! I'll claim ya! Apparently since Mishawaka and Penn shouldn't be included in the NE, then they're NWI too. Hell, we're the best "corner" around now! 🤣 -

Temp’s Top 25 (After Week 6)

Northeast (St. Joe's county and East): Carroll, Snider, Dwenger, Luers, Penn, Mishawaka, East Noble, and Elkhart Southeast: East Central and idk who else is even in Southeast Indiana Southwest: Gibson Southern, Heritage Hills, Evansville Mater Dei, Evansville Memorial, and hell, Reitz has a more recent state title than nearly the whole Region I am unaware that open, unbiased dialogue is considered bashing. Yes, Merrillville, CP, Valpo, Hobart, Lowell, and Andrean are great programs that represent us Region Rats proudly. Over the course of the last 20 years our best have combined for 13 State Final appearances, winning 4 of them (3 by Andrean)... The Region has had 4 public schools appear in 8 total State Finals games in the last 20 years with 1 winner (Valpo). I am not TOTALLY sure because I do reside in NWI but I would be willing to bet this is part of (or THE) reason why the rest of the state may not respect us, or our football, as much as RegionFan and others, may want them to. That's just bad. Not the take but the statement itself. Lol -

Have we wised up in this corner of the state? Lol there's no way one could argue for anything more than our top 2 to be ranked in the famous (or is it infamous?) Temptation Top 25 Poll. 2 teams from NWI is generous by the way. Gipper mentioned we love sports up here. While true, for some schools, MANY don't and it shows ESPECIALLY during football season. -
Transfers Happening?
CoachMack219 replied to Football Guru 25's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I would have to dig deeper into the rule (undue influence is a LONG rule and the definition happened to be at the end of paragraph one, which was nice for my little coaching brain lol) to fully answer this question. I would assume "no" only because I have never seen nor heard of it happening before but you are correct. The kids do the bulk of the recruiting/ undue influencing, in most cases. -
From my DAC experience, Freshman games are on Thursday evenings and JV games are on Saturday mornings. Meaning a young man COULD play 8 quarters (albeit against the rules) in a week if their schedule allowed. I will say I REALLY love this JV and Freshman play at the same time at different locations thing. Is that what goes on in the HCC? That's pretty sweet. Lol

I was in the process of replying to slicer and while working through my response, you replied which took me to the by-laws to define undue influence, so thank you. Lol
