I saw someone give mention to this last week as well. Has to be one of the most impressive tournament runs ever thus far. Capping it off by knocking off #'s 1. 2. 3, and 4 would be unreal. Speaking of impressive, that beatdown they handed to the Pirates was IMPRESSIVE.

I think BoBref's assessment is a really good one. To add on, I think they're pretty good up front on offense and do a nice job of attacking teams based on what the other team lacks on defense. With Valpo being smaller than them, Merrillville stayed in their Heavy look for most of the ball game and mixed in the run and pass well in that set. If Warsaw is deemed or proves to be "too small" up front, Merrillville will live in that Heavy look. If not, they're gonna spread ya out and run/ throw it out of that look. Their 1/2 punch at RB mixed with the Play Action passing attack off of it makes the Merrillville offense a dangerous one. I think this will be a good game for sure. Real excited to tune in.

The matchup of the Merrillville D-Line against the Warsaw Offensive Line and their "Bart Ball" style will be a fun one to watch. If Warsaw can control the line of scrimmage and execute their offense, then this is going to be a heck of a ball game. If not, and Merrillville's D-line and LB's cause havoc like they have all season, it could be a long night for the Tigers. Going to be a fun Semi-State matchup between two teams with differing offensive styles.

All of the games I was able to watch were fantastic. Lawrence North was a problem for anyone, Crown Point included. Brownsburg with an excellent drive to win it late against LN. Center Grove and Warren Central was a great one to watch. CP looked better than I anticipated which is awesome! 5A action was good. New Pal and Chatard in 4A was really good! Some real quality football played around the state last Friday!

Kid is indeed special and showed it again on Friday. Excited to watch what he can do this Friday at Westfield. Going to be a fun game to watch!

Spot on assessment! Only thing you could've done to make it SLIGHTLY better is remove the possibly I bolded and italicized. Trevor Gibbs is the best football player on the Bulldogs and in Northwest Indiana. I personally don't think it's a close race either. The kid is a stud on both sides of the ball.

Was definitely surprised to come across this on Twitter (I will NEVER call it X). Coach Parker has done a really nice job at Hanover Central over the years and I wish him nothing but success and happiness in his future endeavors. I agree with ya Bobref, should be a desirable job. I do think the pay could be an issue that causes hesitation in "bigger" candidates being interested but for someone looking to "move up," this could be a very attractive gig.

Good can be all it takes! The fact that Carroll has what can be defined as a really good HS Quarterback and good skill players on the outside could make this game a challenge for CP. I don't think CP's Secondary is as "weak" as they were a year ago but I'm sure if anyone HAD to pick a weakness of this year's team it would still be the Secondary. Going to be fun to watch CP get challenged in the back end and see how they handle that.

My vote is yes. I also agree with BTF that Crown Point is probably closer to HSE and CG than they are to Carroll which is why I think it'll be Crown Point 31-17. I don't know where I saw it posted on here but someone mentioned that Sullivan's supporting cast at Carroll was "alright," "average," or something along those lines and if that's the case, I don't know if they have the firepower and weapons around Sullivan to threaten the Bulldogs back end of their defense. Friday should tell us a lot about the Bulldogs and Chargers.

As I put this together, I was extremely aware of the Brownsburg and Noblesville result which was posted somewhere on this board. NO chance I would gamble on any of those games I listed if CP was in the HCC. So many tight spreads and based on the week in week out grind of the HCC, anyone appears able to win or lose on any given night. That's fair. Would you revisit those spreads should CP beat Westfield or Fishers by 7-10 in a week and a half, should they get past Carroll? Or are we setting these in proverbial stone based on performances from week 1-today?

You absolutely should have accepted. You hadn't played the game yet and it was meant to encourage your players. Is the purpose of the North Champs T-shirts to encourage the players to win/ compete (like your beat CC shirts) or to celebrate 2nd place? Don't get me wrong, 2nd place in a state football tournament is a tremendous feat that not many accomplish but that doesn't mean I think the t-shirts are a cool idea. I'm not insinuating that T-shirts get anyone over the top. Myself, as a competitor, would struggle to wear a t-shirt that says I got 2nd place. Hell, I have a baseball related one I don't wear that says State Champs but the true best team wasn't at that tournament. Lol I understand school spirit and wish it wasn't lacking in SOOOOO many other places in the 219. I just think when you're trying to go to the places that Crown Point is trying to go promoting your 2nd place finish with a "North Champions" t-shirt FEELS like it goes against what they're working toward accomplishing (1st place). They can buy/ make all the t-shirts they want to make. I sleep fine every night, just offering my opinion on runner up apparel.

Coach, I feel the rings represent the hard work that the players and coaches put into the season and earned by making it to Lucas Oil and being the North representative. I guess the T-shirts just don't get my competitive juices flowing. I appreciate the community support and partnership that Crown Point has and truly believe it is the recipe for sustained football success even if the rest of the Region (with the exception of a few) fail to understand and develop that. To me personally, it's like watching Lebron James walk around in his 2007, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018 Eastern Conference Champions T-shirt or an NBA Finals Runner-Up T-shirt. Is getting there an accomplishment to be proud of? ABSOLUTELY! But for me, I think the Red Rings symbolize that better than a North Champ T-shirt (worn by a player, coach, or community member) ever could.

This is why I am undeniably hesitant to pencil CP in as the North representative (and eventual Champion) as my buddy RegionFBFan is eager to do/ has proclaimed throughout the year (his words). Can't blame people for being hesitant given the history of 5 and 6A State tournaments. I think some folks on here explained the Arizona College Prep scheduling situation pretty well as for the Champions of the North shirts. I'll LOL right here with you Temp. 🤣

This game is going to be so fun to watch based on @foxbat's assessment on LCC's offense. Andrean's defense is essentially equipped to defend this type of attack. They keep 7 in the box at all times in their 3-4 Base and their 4 men in the Secondary are pretty darn good. Both Safeties are D1 guys as most know but the Corners are pretty good players as well. I've thought all year that Andrean was a little light/ small up front with their STARTING D-line group but they have quality big fellas to plug in if needed. Should be fun to watch the LCC offense (which sounds explosive and fun to watch) vs the Andrean Defense, which has been ROLLIN' as of late.

This is about where I have it based on seeing Penn in Week 1 and Week 11, and seeing CP a few more times than that.
