  1. Round 2... Only one WRC team will remain after this week South Putnam @ Covington - All Trojan bashing aside, they have had a football season any soccer school would be proud of. South Putnam has an agenda, Covington is merely in the way. But I think the Trojans make it interesting for the first quarter. SP 42 Cov 16 South Vermillion* @ Linton-Stockton - I've heard the Visors were wanting to infringe on Miner territory by asking for extra room for their fans. Apparently they don't understand how playing at the Roy works. The Miners dictate what space you get to sit in, just like they'll dictate the flow of the game. SV may score, but not enough. Playing at Linton in November is not for the faint of heart. Visors' last second win hangover will haunt them early and often. 'Perfect' season ends Friday. Linton 45 SV 28 Riverton Parke @ North Vermillion - The Panthers steamrolled the Woolfs last week to kick off sectionals as expected. The Falcons struggled against the T-birds in the first half, but still pulled away late. That's been the current trend for NV. The regular season match-up between these two was a tale of two halves (and a lightning delay). RP dominated the first half and NV dominated the second half and won it in OT. But neither team can afford to struggle in either half this second time around. I think this may be a barn burner with RP taking the rematch. RP 28 NV 24
  2. They graduate double digit seniors and didn't play a football schedule in junior high. I think it will take more than a good game against South Putnam to get this program in a positive direction
  3. Which two counties are you referring to? Anyways, here are Sectional game wins since 2017... (I'll let you figure out why I chose that year) North Vermillion - 9 Parke Heritage - 7 Attica - 6 Seeger - 5 Fountain Central - 4 Riverton Parke - 4 South Vermillion - 2 Covington - 1
  4. Sectional Week 1... Most of the WRC teams won't survive this week. Seeger @ Lewis Cass - The Patriots have played harder the second half of the season. I look for them to make this a game. I don't know much about the Kings this year, but I do know they've played a decent schedule. I'll take the home team. Cass 28 Seeger 20 North Posey @ South Vermillion* - I saw a chance for morning rain Friday, hopefully the Visors can get the air dryers on the field before game time. The Vikings have a long trip, we'll see how they handle it. (As @Donnie Baker says, the IHSAA sucks at geology, lol.) If they're as good as they say they are, SV should have no problem. But I think NP will roll, too many athletes. Which is a shame because I can't imagine what a Linton-South Vermillion 2nd round game would look like. (Actually, I could.) NP 42 SV 28 Covington @ Attica - Hopefully the Trojans can find some one else to carry the ball. Lots of adjustments on offense this week at the Complex with the absence of RB1. The Ramblers will do what they do. Which is show up and play hard. The new turf looks good! Winner gets South Putnam. Cov 28 Attica 6 Fountain Central @ South Putnam - Unfortunately, the Mustangs don't have the horses to run against the Eagles. Herb will have them coached up, but what's that old saying about Jimmies and Joes? South Putnam has too many Jimmies and Joes. SP 42 FC 8 Parke Heritage @ Riverton Parke - The Woolfs were completely man-handled two weeks ago. I think they put up a little bit of a fight this week, but it is not going to be enough. The Panthers survived the Trojan onslaught last week, but their patient, grinding style eventually won out. It's tough to stop a steamroller. Woolfs will be getting ready for basketball next week. RP gets ready for a possible rematch at the Gibson. RP 42 PH 14 North Vermillion @ North Central (Farmersburg)- The Falcons seem to be barely hanging on, but they are still winning. The Thunderbirds have built a little momentum with the return of their QB. This will be a different game. NV should win, but I hope they don't look ahead to their possible rematch with RP in round 2, because T-birds could nip them in this battle of the birds. NV 35 NC 22
  5. South Vermillion and Sullivan play for the Bronze Helmet South Vermillion and Riverton Parke play for the Milk Can Riverton Parke and Parke Heritage play for the Parke County Pounder (Fence Post Pounder)
  6. Week 9, The end is near for some... North Vermilion @ Seeger - Falcons escaped the upset last week. Two weeks in a row they've looked uninspired. Not good headed into Sectionals. Patriots look to carry some momentum into the off-season. Lots of young kids playing this year. Visitors should win. NV 35 Seeger 14 Parke Heritage @ Fountain Central - The Mustangs have improved since the beginning of the season, nearly pulling the upset at NV last week. But the Woolfs, not so much. They gave up 49 straight after having the early lead at RP. Home team has better coaching. FC 28 PH 13 Riverton Parke @ Covington - The Panthers have looked really good in their wins and pretty good in their losses. Long time coming for RP. Trojans have been putting up pretty decent numbers themselves. However, I don't think they are as physical up front on either side of the ball. Visitors score more. RP 42 Cov 28 South Vermillion* @ Attica - Visors finish out their 2024 WRC World Tour at the home of the Ramblers. Question is...Is this at the Bruce or the New Stadium? Wildcats could be awful fast on turf. Ramblers need to keep on keeping on. Better days are ahead. Visitors win big. SV wins
  7. Week 8, sectional draw this weekend... Attica @ Covington - The Ramblers keep plugging away. Coach Dean is doing the best he can. Trojans should win this one fairly easy. Covington wins Fountain Central @ North Vermillion - The Mustangs have nearly climbed back to even after a rough start. The Falcons didn't play well last week at Rockville, but still pulled out the win. NV is tough to beat at home. I'm taking them in a close one. NV 41 FC 29 Parke Heritage @ Riverton Parke - County bragging rights up for grabs. The Woolfs showed some fight last week, and they will be ready for RP. The Panthers handled business at Attica and look to extend their dominance over their county rival. The Panthers pounding, beligerent style will eventually win the day. RP 40 PH 18 Seeger @ South Vermillion* - Best thing for the young Patriots is to finish out the season strong. They've taken their lumps this year, bur hopefully will learn from them. The Visors have too many athletes. Home teams sweep this week. SV 44 Seeger 8
  8. I'm not a weather man, never wanted to be. I just know some of the games I've seen in my lifetime were in the same, if not worse conditions that were present on Friday. But in related news, I came across on X the RP-SV JV score from this past Monday night... RP 62 SV 0 Just an anomaly or sign of things to come?
  9. Ok... It was wind and rain.
  10. Coach Dean has already stated earlier in this thread that the Attica-RP game is still being played at the Bruce. Turf isn't ready. And to your last point... Every WRC game besides SV-RP took place on Friday night. Just saying...
  11. I'm not going to make any groundbreaking statement here, but the element of weather is a part of the game of football. I think people, including myself, are just commenting and writing this off as business as usual for SV. Lots of good teams lost across the state Friday night because they couldn't adjust to the elements. SV knew darn well they faced a much higher probability to lose to RP if they played in those elements on Friday. Hence the move to Saturday, which nearly back fired on them anyway. My question is this, Are you really that good of a team if you have to dictate when and where you get to play depending on what team you are playing? What message are you sending to your team? I know its cliche, but good teams really can play anyone, anywhere and in any conditions. Just another example of how SV will be getting ready for basketball/wrestling season before sectionals are over.
  12. Week 7, time to build some momentum for sectionals... South Vermillion* @ Fountain Central - Visors got to pick when to play the game last week, not this week. They should still be the better team, but I heard Herb was in attendance at the RP game on Saturday, so he probably picked up some adjustments to make for his Mustangs this week. Don't be surprised if this one is close for a while. BTW...the * will now be placed next to SV for their Mythical 2024 WRC championship. 35 FC 21 Riverton Parke @ Attica - Say what you want about the Panthers, but it's a good thing the game at SV was played on Saturday. Otherwise we'd be talking about a possible 3-way tie for first. That being said, I'd hate to be the Ramblers this week. Lots of frustration will be taken out at the Bruce. RP wins North Vermillion @ Parke Heritage - Not much to say here. The Falcons are playing some good ball, the Woolfs are not. NV 42 PH 6 Seeger @ Covington - The Trojans got back on track last week. This week will be a little tougher. The Patriots look to rebound from getting beat up by FC last week. Cov 30 Seeger 16
  13. Tanka Jahari, is that you???!!! Been awhile since we've had an endzone camera debate on here. I only knew one person on the GID who was that passionate about endzone cameras. Did you hijack Ms. Draper's account?
  14. Game is at SV, so it had to be SV's call. I guess you can't throw all those passes in the rain and wind. Good luck in late October! I know RP does't care about the weather. The've only thrown like 10 passes all year. Every other WRC game is happening tonight. Sounds like THE VISOR was a little scared...
  15. Week 6, Friday night weather is looking like it could be a factor... Attica @ North Vermillion - Ramblers keep showing up. Ramblers keep playing. Somethings gonna give eventually. Hats off to the Falcons, helluva job! Way to fight back at RP. Enjoy this week. NV by whatever they want Covington @ Parke Heritage - This one is usually a dandy. The Trojans look pretty decent at times, yet so do the Woolfs. Both need a win. Highest overall scoring game of the night. Again, this one is gonna be a dandy. Cov 36 PH 34 Fountain Central @ Seeger - The Mustangs always seem to get better as the season goes. Herb keeps them fighting. The Patriots showed some grit fighting back last week. Third consecutive home game and some confidence will go a long way. Seeger nips Herb, again. Seeger 28 FC 24 Riverton Parke @ South Vermillion - The Panthers are still better than you think. How do they respond this week? Weather forecast seems to favor RP's style over SV's style. Hopefully the Visors haven't loaded up on too much pasta and tanning oil. I'm not buying the running clock hype. This one should be interesting. RP 21 SV 20
  16. Week 5, we are halfway done... Covington @ South Vermillion - Valiant effort by the Trojans to comeback last week and try to make things interesting. Visors handled business and look to do more of the same this week. Are the Wildcats on cruise control to WRC title now? SV 44 Cov 8 Fountain Central @ Attica - Last week was maybe the only hope for the Ramblers to get one in the WRC. Mustangs held on for dear life to get Herb #200. I think #201 will be a little easier to come by. FC 35 Attica 7 North Vermillion @ Riverton Parke - Falcons look to rebound after stinking it up against SV. Panthers appear to be hitting their stride. Homecoming in Mecca. RP 38 NV 14 Parke Heritage @ Seeger - Woolfs had some fun picking up a win last week at Attica. The Patriots did not have fun being RP's punching bag. (First home loss to RP ever) I still think Seeger is the better team in this matchup. We'll see how they respond. Seeger 27 PH 13
  17. RP followed that up by beating Seeger 40-6 last Friday. It was the first time RP has won at Seeger in school history.
  18. There isn't one... https://indianahsfootball.homestead.com/tny/SouthVermillion.htm#load https://indianahsfootball.homestead.com/pastfb/allsectionalchamps.htm#load
  19. Seeger's streak ended last week. Riverton Parke beat them 40-6. BTW, RP narrowly missed the multi-week offender list by 1 point
  20. Week 4, it's getting interesting... Covington @ Fountain Central - The Trojans hung tough last week, but couldn't keep that Falcon D off them for long. The Mustangs barely had any offense at all against RP, even with their starting QB playing most the game. Trojans rebound, Mustangs still reeling. Cov 24 FC 14 Parke Heritage @ Attica - With or without their head coach, the Woolfs can take this one. Oh Ramblers, I had such high expectations! PH 34 Attica 7 Riverton Parke @ Seeger - Apparently, Herb had no answers for that Panthers D. I also heard RP didn't even throw a pass. 46 points all on the ground, that can't be true, can it? The Patriots own this match up. I think they want to keep it that way. Winner of this game will still have WRC hopes. RP takes this one in a squeaker. RP 30 Seeger 28 South Vermillion @ North Vermillion - Visors look to extend their streak over the Falcons, but I heard they looked sloppy at times at Rockville last week. Falcons D looks to prove they are for real. Coach ARod has stirred up high hopes for the Cayuga faithful. Falcons fight hard, but their old secret weapon comes back to get them. SV 34 NV 33
  21. Week 3... Fountain Central @ Riverton Parke - The Mustangs let one slip away last week at C-Ville. Up 14-0 at half and lost 21-14. They may not have many more chances this year. But in Herb they trust. I think the Hall of Famer still has some tricks on his wristcoach. The Panthers held the #3 team in 1A and one of the highest scoring teams in the state to just 14. And they had their chances to score against the Cougars. Which could have made things a little more interesting on Saturday. I don't think there are ANY teams in the WRC that could've done that. Say what you want, but people on here need to recognize what Coach Sanders is doing. I think the boys in Mecca are gonna be trouble for the WRC this year. RP 35 FC 7 North Vermillion @ Covington - Coach ARod is doing an outstanding job with the Falcons so far. They appear to be an offensive and defensive powerhouse. Dare I say they're playing a little better than people were predicting (Or hoping). We'll see how they handle being on the Road for the first time (Scrimmage don't count). The Trojans are 2-0, but that may be a little deceiving. I think they play hard, and have some dudes, but we'll see how they look when they have to guard athletes all over the field. This, I think, is the game of the week in the WRC. Should be fun. Fly Falcons, Fly! NV 43 Cov 28 Seeger @ Attica - The Patriots rebounded nicely last week and hopefully restored some confidence in the Patriot faithful. They are still my pick to shake some things up this year. No one is really talking about them much as a WRC contender. We shall see. Things are supposed to be looking up for the Ramblers this year. Lots of hype around the new facilities and new coach. They're a program on the rise, but not this week. Seeger names their price.... South Vermillion @ Parke Heritage - The Wildcats impressed me by taking it to Sullivan last week. Good for them to bring the Bronze, er, Black and Purple Helmet home to Clinton. (Neither team wears a bronze helmet anymore) The Visors can now commence their annual march through the WRC. With the weather getting a little colder, the spray tans will increase I'm sure. Nothing like having that glow come playoff time. Oh, the Woolfs could've had one last week at home over West Vigo. Couldn't get the 2pt conversion to tie it in the 4th. The points will be a little harder to come by this week. SV 45 PH 8
  22. Spray tans, visors and all the italian food you can eat from Gerrie's. Why wouldn't you coach in Clinton?
  23. Week 2... Attica @ Tri-County - Ugh, the Ramblers disappointed me. I was hoping for a better showing last week, but they got blanked. I keep hearing they're better, but this year is starting just like the last couple of years. The Cavaliers look to rebound after a tough loss to Covington. Tri-C 28 Attica 7 Carroll (Flora) @ Riverton Parke - The Panthers weren't close last year. Last week, they had to gut one out against a vastly improved Cloverdale team. Winning isn't easy all the times, right? Not shocked by the Cougars performance last week (Caston is historically bad), but this year's team is filling a lot of holes (22 Seniors)and they struggled early on. How will they hold up to the 2+ hour drive to Mecca? This one could be a fun one. Carroll 28 RP 22 Covington @ South Newton - The Trojans won ugly last week. Which might be their formula all year. I think they will surprise some WRC teams. Coach Bevis does the best he can, but the Rebels just can't stay consistent enough. Covington off to a 2-0 start. Cov 24 SN 12 Fountain Central @ Crawfordsville - Southmont took mercy on the Mustangs. I guess FC is down some dudes. The Athenians pulled out a close one against a bad PH team. This one is a coin toss. I'm going with the home team, again. C-ville 2-0 in the WRC. C-ville 22 FC 13 Paris (ILL) @ North Vermillion - Falcons looked good against an improved North Central, but the T-birds lost their QB early in that game. Definitely made a difference. I'm not sold on NV just yet. Don't know much about the Tigers, but they seem to have had a decent program in recent years. Paris 35 NV 24 Seeger @ Benton Central - Just what the doctor ordered after getting thumped by LCC. The Patriots have done well in this series with the Bison. I expect them to even their record out. They will still play a key role in the WRC. Seeger 41 BC 21 South Vermillion @ Sullivan - Battle of the Golden... I mean, Purple and Black Helmet. Although the games have been close recently, The Golden Arrows still own this series. I'm taking the home team. Sul 45 SV 24 West Vigo @ Parke Heritage - As bad as the Vikings have been, I still think they can beat the Woolfs. I predict lots of offense, no defense. WV 42 PH 40
  24. @Muda69 You've been given great information. Definately worth your time to check it out. Make sure you get a giant pretzel while you're there too.
