  1. Winning a conference championship is pathetic? How so?
  2. Sounds good. I've actually found score predictors to be a pretty good indicator. I'm not aware of any supposed D1 athletes on Parke Heritage's football team. Apparently there are at least 2 at South Vermillion. Another serious question: How many D1 athletes has either school produced in Football in the past?
  3. I call BS. Score predictors predict a 3 point win by the Wolves over the Arrows and a 7 point win over the Wildcats. Hardly a smoking. Both of those, if we're using facts now, using the margin of error in those score predictors, are basically dead even games. So I'll stay with my original prediction. Wildcats 42 Wolves 41 As Keith Jackson always said..."That's why they play the games."
  4. Im not. I'm pretty sure Sullivan could do the same against Parke Heritage. Big difference between a decent 3A school and a good 1A school. But we'll never know because folks in Rockville like their cupcakes too much. Exactly...
  5. Week 6 should be a dandy. North Vermillion 28 Attica 14 - Say what you want about the Falcons, but they seem to get better every week. The Ramblers were lucky to beat a depleted Riverton Parke squad on a Monday night nearly a month ago and only scored 20 against Fountain Central. The Falcons are probably better than both. Covington 40 South Newton 20 - This game may be closer than some think. However, the Trojans seem to excel at chucking it all over lesser opponents. Maybe they could work on their run game a little while throwing all those passes against the Rebels? Seeger 56 Fountain Central 0 - Another week for the Patriots to work on their passing game. The Mustangs are just hoping they can get a good draw in the sectional opener to try for a win. (See Below) Riverton Parke 3 Cloverdale 2 - Another game against a winless opponent for the Panthers. At some point they have to put it together. I'm hearing a lot of good things about their youth football program. If only their baseball players actually played football, they probably wouldn't be in such a position every year. Clovers play hard, but can't muster any offensive prowess. South Vermillion 42 Parke Heritage 41 - It is the Wildcats' turn to play underdog and take out an unbeaten team this week. The Wolves have not played anyone who can actually score, let alone run offense for an extended period of time. The Wildcats can do both. Sullivan, down year or not, is a tougher opponent than people in the WRC realize. I don't think the Wolves are ready for this one.
  6. If you think for one minute they wouldn't try to score that much, you're sadly misinformed. 1000 points is obviously not possible. I was clearly being sarcastic in my predictions. However, the 80 point mark is not entirely out of the question tonight. Records and W's are the golden ticket in Rockville. Besides, their possible Sectional opponent South Putnam already dropped an 80 spot this year. (71 at half time!) The Wolves need to keep pace if they want to compete with the Eagles.
  7. Half way through the 2020 season. Some interesting match-ups this week... Parke Heritage 1000 Eastern Greene 2 - Wolves continue their record breaking season. Last year was just a warm up for this year's greatness. The "Other Thunderbirds" are no match. When does some one else not named Johnson get to touch the ball? Fountain Central 44 Attica 42 - This could be a crazy game. I think the Ramblers are too beat up to come out on top. Mustangs break the losing streak this week. Riverton Parke 8 North Vermillion 6 - Immoveable object vs. Impenetrable force. How many wings does an offense need to have to get the win? Something has to give here. Some one has to win. Can the Falcons win? Can the Panthers win? Which team does this game mean more to? Seeger 40 Covington 28 - Patriots got some much needed pass work in last week. But they'll be running the ball again this week against the smaller Trojans. Sullivan 38 South Vermillion 35 - Wildcats can't get over the big brother complex it has with the Arrows. This one will be a little more competitive than recent years, but the Arrows D will hold the Wilcats O under 40 for the first time this year. Didn't both these teams used to wear Gold Helmets or something?
  8. I've heard the same. Looks like it is still on for Saturday afternoon. Haven't seen any offical announcements that this week's game has been cancelled. Apparently the dang Covid doesn't affect Wildcat Football like it has other teams in the WRC. The season of destiny continues...
  9. Week 4 already? Here we go... Linton 55 North Vermillion 18 - A usually competitive game has seen the Miners pull away late the last few years. When is the last time the Falcons were 0-4? Well, they will be this year. They won't care much about this one. They'll be looking ahead to their match-up with Riverton Parke next week, hoping for a win. Carroll (Flora) 35 Parke Heritage 34 - The HOF coach gambles this week after losing a sure win game against Attica. A long bus ride and the Cougars ground game exposes the Wolves Defense. Best game of the week among WRC teams. South Vermillion 2 North Central (Farmersburg) 0 - Rumors not withstanding, the Wildcats and the T-Birds may not get to play this one. If they do, I don't think SV will struggle much. NC is down a couple guys too. Riverton Parke came out swinging Saturday and SV had a disaster of a start. Lots of penalties and muffed punts. D1 QB even threw a pick on the first play. The Visor hopefully can get his team to focus a little more. Better teams await them and better teams will make the Wildcats look like Mildcats. Seeger 35 Riverton Parke 12 - Big and slow is the way to go for the Patriots. They seemed to right the ship a little beating down a lowly Jay County team. The Panthers hopefully put up more of a fight than they did last week after that first quarter with SV. Seems that dang Covid affect is real. This will be the Panthers' third varsity game in 13 days. Covington 42 Fountain Central 14 - The Trojan Spread, No-Huddle was in full effect last Friday. They'll get another one this week. Mustangs won't be able to hang. Attica - A week off for the Ramblers. I hear they're banged up. Panthers must've hit them pretty hard last Monday.
  10. Looks like RP has SV scheduled for Saturday the 5th at 11 am and Attica has Seeger the same day at 10 am
  11. Harrell's site has it listed this morning. Panthers at Red Ramblers, Monday the 31st @ 6:30p. From what I've read here, I wonder if the head coaches will have a bench press competition instead of a coin flip?
  12. I'm a little late to this shin-dig, but glad to be here. Love reading the content, but never bothered to actually get on and post. 2020 has changed a lot of things, I guess. Any ways, My take on each team in the WRC ... Attica - After this season they make that fella DT's contraction list. Gonna be a rough one for the Red Ramblers. Although this week looks promising. Covington - I like where this young coach is going with the Trojans. Too bad they had to play the University of Southern Vermillion their first night out. Fountain Central - Read Attica comment. Same applies to the Mustangs. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Very lucky the Covid spared them from Southmont and their trip to Mecca. Both could have been South Put/ Cloverdale ugly... North Vermillion - The Owen Valley result was what I expected. Whether everyone was playing or not. See comments about Attica and Fountain Central above. There are not going to be very many sponsored touchdowns in Falcon country this year. Parke Heritage - It's a shame, if what I'm hearing is true, that the Wolves were afraid to take their show on the road against a bigger school. Although, I doubt that from a HOF coach. He runs a tight ship 365 days a year and on Sundays. Must be saving it for the Wildcats. I really like how the Wolves play that spread offense. Taking advantage of all their athletes. Riverton Parke - When will the poor Panthers get to play??? Looks like they might have to wait until week 3 at South Vermillion. Tough game to start out with. Of course, with all this time to prep they could be fine tuning a sleeping giant. Look out WRC. Or Not. I did hear somewhere that their coaches look good in Under Armour shirts. Seeger - My team to beat in the WRC. Coach Herb has got himself a fine football team. But when will the Patriots get to pound on people? This week hopefully. Dang Covid. South Vermillion - Or did I save the best for last? Coach Barrett and his fabulous hair/ visor combination may finally be on the verge of what no one in charge of the Wildcats has ever done.... win the WRC! (I think, WRC historians you can fact check me on that.) A team that sized is blessed to have just one D1 athlete, let alone two! I've heard musing of a state title run in Clinton.
