  1. Maybe for bigger games where the schools they are playing may bring more fans they will move it to the bigger stadium. But, even then, teams like Penn don't travel like they used to. Hell the students hardly come to the home games. TAKE THE MONEY!!! You are a public school, take all the financial assistance you can. Good gravy.
  2. I would rather be Cathedral and have a long year, than be Penn go undefeated and get beat in sectionals.
  3. From my seat it feels like he came to develop a culture and a successor at the same time. I think he sticks it out 3-5 more seasons, especially if he is developing his replacement. But, if he is already having health scares, the mrs. may have something to say about it.
  4. Crown Point's defensive backs made Penn look like an air threat. Penn threw for 300+ yards against them. But, yes BD was beyond CP.
  5. Rodney, wouldn't the answer be about 10+ years because of the success factor rules.
  6. Did this get him banned from the thread? This is unnecessary. I got banned from a thread because I got heated about politics...calling someone a pos because he pointed out that he was either deliberately not reading the responses or just wanted to be a contrarian....either way, not cool and not welcomed.
  7. I have been away from the site for a couple months, so when I saw this 13 page thread going, I had to catch up. Just feels like he thought he had the high ground in the argument and would not "give it up." I think over the years we have all just commonly agreed that state runs through the big schools in Indy. How or why, does it even matter anymore? Enrollment, feeder program blah blah blah.
  8. Too be fair Snider would have given Ben Davis a better game than Crown Point did last year.
  9. Same could be said from Penn's perspective, last title was the 2000 season against CG, 24 years and the closest we have been was a lopsided 12 point loss to CG almost ten years ago. Haven't even competed for a semi-state title sine 2017....
  10. I thought Snider got the old Success factor bump?
  11. Cathedral and Brownsburg will consume most of that percentage. Followed by HSE and Fishers who is followed by Carroll Snider and CP. The rest are unless the season proves us all wrong, mathematically just playing for participation trophies..
  12. Waving red flags over here! lol
  13. Stop it....I was just going to post Not Penn.
  14. In that situation, If I am student A, I would look for a smaller school in my area and go there. If you are second string at a Penn size school you will likely start at a 2 or 3A school. Depth at those levels hurts. Which then turns you into Student B, and the cycle continues.
  15. If I am not mistaken he played QB for Penn back in the Mid 2000s. I think he played in the Elkhart Memorial sectional championship and Merrillville game for Keim after he broke his hand in the sectional semi vs Mishawaka. He may have been the starter in the 2007 season. But, I have been wrong before. Not sure my memory is serving me well.
  16. Honestly Muda, how many people are going out to purchase a High School jersey? IDK, high school football is not a billion dollar industry. Some of these kids are amazingly talented...they can make their bones with NIL in college and even if they are lucky in the pros. Jersey's are highly over priced and the percentage earned from the sale of a unit sold is less than 5% on average in the College ranks. If the Jersey is $140 and the cut is 4% the players get like $5. If over the span of a season the schools sells 100 units...yeah a kid is going to be happy to get $500. But, are there 100 people in each community that is ready to shell out $140 for a High school player's uniform? I would say no not likely. https://www.outkick.com/sports/college-football-players-receiving-laughably-small-cut-of-jersey-sales-report
  17. Is that the kid that kid that crazy long walk off field goal to win a game last season?
  18. If they start paying high school football players....I quit. This is out of control at that point. It is already bad with paying players who have not achieved anything at the College ranks....thousands if not millions of dollars.
  19. Sectional 2, Penn, Snider, Carroll and Elkhart. Woof
  20. Sectional 1 is interesting. Harrison threw in that wrench. Penn and Elkhart go separate ways for the first time in a long time, and Crown Point's sectional road just got harder. Maybe.
  21. Elkhart doesn't lack talent, it lacks direction from what I am hearing.
  22. I am sorry, we could have had 15 players on the field and would still found ourselves out of position on almost every play. That games was a nightmare, that we got to live over three different times...One day I think we will have redemption...maybe.
  23. Well it doesn't matter, now one was getting beat 57-7....unless Penn was playing in the game.
  24. Yes, when you live in the city in which the school resides you will typically just use the name of the school. In media and when talking to people who are not always familiar with the schools around the state, using Indianapolis, South Bend or Fort Wayne helps the lay person know where in the state we are talking about. I believe there is a South Bend Washington and a Washington HS.... If someone just posted a topic saying....OMG did you see what happened at Washington over the weekend? most people will probably think uh oh something happened in South Bend...but the thread could be about the 4A school in southern Indiana. Plus Harrell's website lists the schools from those towns above with the city name in it.
