Brownsburg/Ben Davis
BLACKGOLD2007 replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Right now, Westfield feels like they are the class of 6A North. I was a little shocked that Carmel didn't put up much of a fight on their home turf. Carroll going down to Warsaw, has me confused. Warsaw has put together a strong season, but with their face plant against Mishawaka, I just don't know where everyone falls up here...could be a one off, it is so hard to tell. I thought Carroll, with their big game experience, would be able to get past Warsaw. I cannot imagine Carroll was looking beyond Warsaw, but kids do dumb kids stuff. -
Temp's 5A Tournament Predictions
BLACKGOLD2007 replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I am looking on Harrell's site under the Tournament chances tab....guess I am a little late to noticing this, but there are some surprise percentages in my opinion. I am going to let you know, I am assuming the percentages are likelihood of making it to that specific point in the playoffs. If that is the case, in 5A north: Merrillville: State chances - 7.64% Valpo: State chances - 16.57% Mishawaka: State chances - 10.4% Snider: State chances: 7.9% A little surprised by these numbers, but Harrell does their homework, I heard Snider lost a key player to injury. It should be an interesting rematch....barring one falls flat before their game. -

Playing two big games in a row can lend to a let down game....just ask Notre Dame how that went for them this year. Not looking forward to our upcoming scuffle on Friday. Congrats on beating the odds on favorite in our Sectional, and hopefully you have another let down game Friday....(no offense) -
Temp’s Top 25 (Week 11)

@BTF any idea what happened with Carroll last night? from the score it looks like either some key players were missing or they ran face first into a Buzzsaw. -
Temp’s Eliminator Poll (Week 11)
BLACKGOLD2007 replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
The Warsaw Carroll game took us all at Freed Field by surprise last night. But, we have a huge test this weekend, with the option attack. Hopefully playing Mishawaka will have helped some... @temptation where do you land Northridge on your list of remaining teams? -
I am not excited for this situation, If the Penn O that came out last night comes out for the Warsaw game....Penn will win this game. But, if they come out flat like they have done in almost half of their games, it will be a long night. Crown Point had a heck of a second half, whoever wins our game next week will have their hands full with a CP team that should be ready to prove they are among the states best. Penn and Warsaw will play at home if CP wins, if LC wins, Penn travels or Warsaw will play at home.

Brownsburg/Ben Davis

Being a Penn guy, I am bias towards Ben Davis, love the program and I love how they have been able to be among the states best almost every year. I don't know who wins this game, it is literally two Titans on 6A throwing down. I hope BD wins, 24-21 BD late score puts them over. -

Goodbye NIC South. It was fun while it lasted. So long favorable NIC schedule. It was fun while it lasted. Tootles Mishawka rivalry, because you will likely be dropped due playing 7 conference games moving forward. Cannot wait to see Washington and Riley back on that schedule moving forward.... yep cannot wait. -

Temp's 6A Tournament Predictions
BLACKGOLD2007 replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Sure, there is no disagreement that football is the dominant male sport in our country. But, I found it interesting how it appears that Penn and Carmel maybe a reflection of situations. Large school populations (Penn still fields a large team) but overall talent is not the same as years prior. I assume Carmel's overall number of players is still high. Is it a cycle for this current batch of players in the school? Is it something being played out in the homes? Could it be something within the program itself that is causing the teams to be not as competitive to their normal standards? I think Penn's issue is they cannot recruit their (within their school) best players. I also believe, while they have a developmental football league, the high school staff is not as involved with that league as they used to be. When Geesman was around, he and his staff were around the games, not every game but enough to where we kids took notice. We ran the base elements of the Penn offense....From what I am hearing from boosters and others this is not the case right now. -

Man, what a let down of a season. Northridge is going to walk through Wawasee. -
Temp's 6A Tournament Predictions
BLACKGOLD2007 replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
This seems to make sense, because the word is that Penn's best don't play football anymore. Rather than playing multiple sports, more students are specializing and that is taking away from the talent pool that Penn had the benefit of picking from. Also, a lot of parents up in our area just think football is going to lead to long term health issues, and prevent their children from participating in the sport. My child attends a local catholic middle school up here, and I was helping with the schools middle school football team, from what I was told just in the last five years they went from a team of two deep to no longer being a team. We were so low on numbers we were absorbed by another school. Soccer participation is up in these schools and Lax participation is up as well. Football is declining. I am not shocked that Carmel may be suffering from parents who think they are doing what is best for their child and even specialization. -

Temp's 6A Tournament Predictions
BLACKGOLD2007 replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
like I said, it all depends on some variables. like change of focus in the football program, new coach or new scheme something has to give. If those things don't happen, they would reside at or near the bottom of the HCC. -
Temp’s Top 25/Survivor Poll (Week 10)
BLACKGOLD2007 replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I know this is how sectionals work, but can we also point out that Bloomington North and South are both playing this weekend and we will be without one of the top 5A schools going into next week as well. -
Temp's 6A Tournament Predictions
BLACKGOLD2007 replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Possibly by that over a span of a few seasons Penn might be able to adjust to the level of play and compete for higher positioning in the conference. Idk it all depends on some other variables. -

Elkhart (3-6) at Penn (8-1), 7 pm: Yay we get to play for a sectional title....shoot it is at Carroll (more than likely) Concord (5-4) at Adams (1-8), 7 pm: Concord could sleepwalk through this game to a win. New Prairie (8-2) at Kankakee Valley (5-5), 8 pm: NP. I was worried about their O last week, they woke back up and now look like they are going to be a very tough out in 4A Washington (3-7) at NorthWood (8-2), 7 pm: Northwood could also sleepwalk through this game to a win. Fairfield (6-4) at Glenn (6-4), 7 pm: I've been on the Falcons bandwagon all season...come on boys! Wheeler (6-3) at Bremen (5-5), 7:30 pm: I hope the Lions can keep their season going.
