  1. Mishawaka v Northwood they played to a 1pt game in the regular season.
  2. So, coming out of the North would be Merrillville, Warsaw or Concord, Jeff?
  3. Are we putting Mishawaka in the Semi State game? Like their only competition in sectionals is Northwood and St. Joe (Which I think Mishawaka v St. Joe will be a good game) But, I dont know what is going out of the region's sectional. That leads me to believe we will have a Mishawaka v Dwenger semi State in the north.
  4. I agree. IDK what it is about Kevin Wright, but his teams are always at a state title. 2010 they went 9-2 Fishers won state that year. 2012 after destroying Penn in state the year before Warren caught Carmel in 3ot in sectional round 1. Those are the outliers while at Carmel. Otherwise he was at a State game. He will likely go down as one of the best coaches in Indiana HS football history. Westfield followed by CP
  5. I think right now I am throwing my hat in the ring of CP or Westfield. If Westfield pulls out the sectional win over Carmel I would like them as the favorite to win that regional and then CP at Semi State. I know my brothers from Ft. Wayne are very high on Carroll, which they are the only team to square up with the Indy Metro area more than once this year, I think they match up with CP well, but I think CP may hold a slight advantage. I hold the right to change my mind once I see them play Penn. That is fair.
  6. What happened? Northrop score on backups or did Carroll pull up?
  7. SECTIONAL 18 [BRACKET] Plymouth [3-5] at South Bend Washington [2-6] Mishawaka [7-1] at NorthWood [4-4] Wawasee [1-7] at Northridge [2-6] South Bend Riley [3-5] at South Bend St. Joseph [8-0] Mishawaka gets the worst draw possible in regards to quality opponent. Northwood took the Cavemen to the brink in a 1 point loss back on September 12th. Washington and Riley have the displeasure of playing in a conference where Penn, St. Joe and Elkhart did not show much mercy. Wawasee and Northridge is a rematch from a blowout back on October 3rd. St. Joe and Riley throw down again. That game was only 21-6 in favor of the Huskies. I think Mishawaka goes back to Northwood and wins in a more convincing way. I think Washington gets a win but drops to Mishawaka. Northridge gets the pleasure of playing St. Joe. In my opinion this sectional will come down to, just how good is St. Joe's run D. Mishawaka will be the more aggressive team with their running game. Mishawaka wins a battle 28-24.
  8. I think either way they are going to have a fight on their hands from the South rep. . I like Brownsburg v Law. North and Center Grove v Warren I think it is going to be between Brownsburg and Center Grove Going chalk.
  9. I ran just sectional 1, I thought CP would be a 14.5 point favorite going into Penn, the predictor tool has this. 2025 Crown Point is a 8.0-point favorite vs. 2025 Penn (no HFA). Win probability: 2025 Crown Point 64.89%, 2025 Penn 35.11%. Not too far off
  10. Carroll is going to make the regional game, I think their rematch with Northrop will be a better defended game not the high scoring shoot out it was this past weekend. They are my lock for sectional 2 to match up with my prediction of CP to come out of 1. I think Carmel will be the North representative at state this year.
  11. Rodney are you feeling ok, you have Penn in this. Did you run out of beers?
  12. Sectional 1 will be interesting. This will be the third year in a row CP comes to Freed Field. Two years ago we had that amazing barn burner where CP blocks a field goal at the end to win, and last year Penn got boat raced at home against a much better CP. I think Penn is improved from that team, but I still think we may be a bit of a dog in this game. CP -14.5 is where I would have the line. I just don't see how Penn's schedule has prepared them for this matchup.
  13. I expect Penn to put up 40 during this game. This is my opinion the only thing that will prevent this is Penn beating Penn. If we see the Penn show up in the second half of the Mishawaka game, St. Joe does not stand a chance. If we get the Penn of the first quarter of the Mishawaka game, St. Joe will make it a dog fight. 93 more offensive point scored against the same competition. That is going to be the difference in this game. Penn should be more explosive in Special teams and in offensive weapons.
  14. The best teams in the 90's and 00's were still the biggest schools. Carmel, Penn, Ben Davis...Snider was there as well as the outsider of the group in enrollment size. There are still schools bigger than Penn now that are bad at football. The lack of competition in the North-Central part of the state is alarming. Mishawaka, Penn, Concord and Elkhart are it. Penn plays Mishawaka and Elkhart they don't play Concord and wont play Northwood. This is the entire reasoning for either insulting the NIC and sending your JV team to play certain NIC games, or just ask to leave in Football only. Go independent in that regards still play a modified schedule that keeps NIC teams on the schedule, but not all of them every year. There are DAC and Summit teams that want to play Penn. There are Indy schools that would or want to play Penn. If you cannot make it work go call your buddies at OLSM and Brother Rice in Detroit or Toledo Central Catholic in Ohio. They can and will easily fill out a schedule.
  15. They had a handful of winning seasons that still didn't get through sectionals. I think since 94 they had one team make it to regionals. I feel bad for complaining about the state Penn football now.
  16. Geez took a crap Penn program and turned them into state contenders with little to no pure athletes. That is Dang good coaching.
  17. I think Carmel has the ability to be the exception to the rule, with the amount of male athletes to pick from they should be able to field a team that competes on the regular for a state title. They have also shown that coaching does matter. Penn while has been a crap shoot since 2017 in football sees success in the other sports such as Baseball, minus last years debacle, and the Men's basketball teams have had recent success. Soccer this year is performing well.
  18. I don't follow Elkhart football. So, taking a good look is by what I saw last Friday, so yes it was shocking how bad a 6A offensive line they have and how many players they have going both way for a 6A squad. Thank you for explaining to me how play calling and the game of football works.
  19. Penn 5-0 244 39 7- 0 293 74 Won 7 St. Joseph 5-0 158 33 7- 0 220 39 Won Only difference is Penn has played Washington and St. Joe has played NP. Similar defensive outcomes but vastly different offensive results. I expect St. Joe will make plays, but Penn will likely be too much in the end.
  20. It was a little shocking at how bad their offensive line was these past two weeks.
  21. For a 6a school there are a decent number of two way players on Elkhart.
  22. haha I know, I was just trying to bring the humor.
  23. to be fair about half of those are Penn games.
  24. Elkhart needs to learn how to block, 20+ sacks in two games. Marian just needs to turn the dial up on D and pray they get home, Bardo cannot beat you if their QB is on his back. With that said, Elkhart wins 35-14 Penn has backups in at halftime, 49-0 St. Joe v Washington - Do not overlook Washington if I were St. Joe. The last thing the Huskies want is to slip up and back their way into the Penn game. St. Joe wins 28-7 Adams v Riley - every time I pick one of these games the opposite happens. I am going to go Riley wins in OT 21-14
