  1. Assuming all goes as planned, round 2 should have a couple of good games as well. North Knox/Forest Park winner vs. Mater Dei and North Posey vs. Tell City should be decent games. I would expect the final to be a battle also.
  2. I'll take Memorial by two scores. Lincoln is very solid but Memorial has more weapons and is playing better each week. Should be a good one though.
  3. I'll take MD over all of them. Current sophomore class was undefeated and not really challenged as 8th graders and freshman. Starting quarterback, running back, center and safety are sophomores and several others playing varsity as well. Sounds like the next few years in the SIAC are going to be fun.
  4. Teams with very few senior and very many sophomore starters struggle. Six wins will be a tall task if what you are saying is true.
  5. I'm really interested to see the Memorial/Reitz game. Can Memorial continue their current streak or can Reitz bounce back and beat a middle of the pack SIAC team? I'm guessing Memorial handles them but we will see. Also Castle/Jasper will be a good one. I'm taking Jasper but it should tight. I just think Jasper has too much offense for Castle to overcome.
  6. Interesting take on the MD/North game. How much defense does Bawdy play usually?
  7. Hey Captain, it's not a list ranking the teams. This is merely listing their strength of schedule. Eastbrook may very well beat every team on the list, but their strength of schedule doesn't match up. No need to get your feelings hurt.
  8. Maybe you're right here. Maybe it's more depth or parity than in the past. I'm not sure about the regional comment although you could be correct here as well. But I don't buy that the conference is having a down year this year.
  9. Don't mean to change the subject too much, but what does everyone think of the overall strength of the conference this year? I read early in the year that the conference was going to be down from years past but I don't know that I believe it is. It seems the addition of a very solid Jasper team and Vincennes Lincoln has toughened everyone's schedule. I think you could've argued a few years ago that with 2 non conference games and the bottom of the conference a decent SIAC team could have 5 easy wins. I don't that's the case this year. Even for a team like Castle, who may be in third or fourth in the conference, there aren't 5 easy wins. It will be interesting to see how the playoffs shake out in a few weeks.
  10. Saying Castle's freshman should have never lost that game last year against MD is crazy. Castle never had the lead and was down 3 scores late in the game until a late barrage brought them back within one touchdown. MD also played that entire freshman season without the now varsity sophomore quarterback as he played JV all year. MD also played Jasper's freshman last year. I don't remember the score, but I do remember it wasn't close. And as far as JV this year, MD has quite a few sophomores playing varsity as well. Not saying MD would have won with them but to make the comment that Castle was missing sophomores like MD wasn't is just wrong.
