who has "moved in" to Gibson Southern? I haven't heard any names mentioned.
-
We see North week 6. The front end of MD's schedule is loaded before the last three weeks ease off some. Still finish with Reitz which always seems to be a battle no matter the records.
-
And MD will play all three of those other teams the first 5 weeks of the season. Sprinkle in Central week 1 and Vincennes Lincoln week 3 and that's a tough opening stretch.
-
If he averaged 9 yards per completion and only had six incompletions who cares that it was "only 9 YPC". That's almost 7.5 yards per attempt. Pretty sure you can get a lot of first downs that way. I know teams can start to creep up and take the short completion away but Memorial has enough playmakers outside to keep teams honest.
-
Is the TC you are referring to Triton Central or Tell City?
-
WeBo is up to 3A after winning 3 consecutive state titles. TC will be tough again but they lose a lot of their very very good big guys. Castle will make a run but what looms for them at semi state if they make it that far is probably unbeatable. If the Memorial offense can click without Pence then lookout for them. If Memorial can sling it a little but their two running backs and quality offensive line they will be very difficult to match up against and try to stop.
-
That's insane. I don't know that I've ever heard of a high school team with 20 returning starters. With the quality of talent returning Memorial should make a deep run in November.
-
I'm not seeing Mater Dei as a 14 point dog at home to Central. The others I don't necessarily disagree with although I do think Memorial and Jasper could be closer than 13.5.
-
I agree with Tango, the Bears aren't going undefeated. There is a much better chance Castle goes 8-1, but I don't see that either. I think there is a much better chance Memorial, Mater Dei finish top 2 in the conference, but we will know a lot more by mid September. Can't wait.
-
Apparently I should choose better sources for my information. You are correct. Shoulder pads and girdle are allowed. My apologies.
-
I'm pretty confident padded practices are not allowed at this point. You might want to check that out before you say something on here that Coach Hurley might not appreciate.
-
Great job by both schools. What is North Posey's outlook this season?
-
So your change was more about moving Memorial down slightly than it was about moving Mater Dei up?
-
Just curious, but what is the reason for the MD move? I agree the top 4 could all be interchangeable and will be very very solid. To beat any of those 4 you will have to play well. Even 5-7 will be tough wins. Not too many easy weeks.
-
I hate to hear that. Why would they let the first one go but fight the second one? Seems like, if you're going to fight one, you should fight all of them.
-
Does anyone know anything about the UIndy Mega Camp on June 12th? Saw a post on Twitter but not much other info. Considering it but would like more info before making a decision.
-
Well let's hear who you think it is. I'm on the west side as well and haven't heard a word. You must have some connected sources.
-
I think we are going to see a very normal football season this fall. Indiana Covid-19 numbers are declining rapidly while the number of people vaccinated is increasing just as fast. I think we are going to lose our mask mandate soon and have a normal summer and fall season. Cant wait!

Yes Ellsperman has good legs. He's a very good athlete. I can't see a freshman starting over Caleb as a junior. I'm sure Ellsperman will spend the summer working on being the starting quarterback
-
Ellsperman should be the starting QB at Memorial. Not that I have any inside knowledge of the situation but he filled in nicely last year when Pence was out and was the JV QB prior to that. The kid is a very good athlete and should step right in. He's got the ability for sure. I expect Jasper to be good every year. They might not be what they were in 2020, but I would expect them in the top half of the conference again. Will North be better than Memorial, Castle, MD, Reitz, Central, Jasper? I don't think so and that puts them below .500 again unless they can make a run in the playoffs. I don't see that happening either. MD should be very good. There is a lot of talent returning but some questions to answer as well. A couple of offensive lineman need to be replaced as well as a trio of wide receivers. If there is improvement across the board from the returners and kids step into those roles then yes a trip to Lucas Oil is within reach. Castle will be near the top of the conference yet again. I wouldn't be surprised to see a return trip to semi state. Not sure what Vincennes returns but they could take some lumps this year. They should beat both Bosse and Harrison, could beat North and possibly Reitz, but will struggle with the remainder of their schedule in my opinion. I expect Central to fall to the middle third of the conference. They will still have some talent I'm sure, but what will the new coach's system be? Will they throw it around the yard with Herdes back or try to find a couple of running backs to replace the production they lose in Evans, Boberg and Madison. That's a lot to lose. Not sure who will be the biggest surprise but if I had to make a couple of picks it would be Central to fall further than the middle of the conference and end up with 6 losses. On the trending up side, I would think MD to run the table and finish the conference schedule undefeated. Only time will tell.

Haha, I wonder what the new hot landing spot will be. My guess would be North

Does anyone know of any similar running back camps? -
Hell I'll just be glad when June gets here and things start to pick up. Hopefully there is a normal summer leading up to practices
-
If I'm not mistaken North should have MD week 5. That won't be easy either.
