  1. I think you'll see Stolz on the field all of the time, Martin most of the time and a rotation of other guys for the third and fourth wide receiver spots.
  2. He's playing WR or starting at WR? I'm not sure the decision has been made on who the starting wide receivers will be outside of Stolz.
  3. Linton might have lost more than Triton Central but in my opinion they were a far superior team to begin with. The regional championship game MD played against TC was never in doubt and had a running clock the very beginning of the second half. The MD game with Linton was a slugfest and a nail biter to the end. I would give the edge to Linton right now but I guess that's why we play the games. We will see it all on the field soon.
  4. Sounds like the Memorial staff is confident he will be released before the season begins. I'm a little surprised Rode is allowed to practice and scrimmage with the team though at this point since his transfer hasn't been cleared by the IHSAA.
  5. From what I understand Mr. Herdes has transferred to Castle. I don't think he is playing football but I don't really know that to be honest.
  6. The chances of Rode getting cleared to play at Memorial this fall appear to be slim. The defections from Central are unreal considering just a few years ago Central was the popular school to transfer in to. I understand Herdes is gone as well. What will they have left when the season starts?
  7. I've heard a couple of names floated about, but I don't think anyone is going to play to the level Brodie did last season.
  8. That dude was the fastest high school football player I think I've ever seen. Memorial will miss him but I don't think anyone on their schedule will. Congrats to him on signing with IU. I look forward to seeing what he does at IU.
  9. With the off season officially underway, are there any notable absences from camps? Any transfers not yet been discussed on this site? Should be a good year in the SIAC again.
  10. When did 400m become a dash? I think of that as a long long distance run. Congratulations to all the football guys. I knew Ray Brodie was fast but man that's crazy. Is he running somewhere next year or playing football somewhere? I hope he is.
  11. I remember Randall Baker. I know Horning will be a sophomore, is that the same case with Baker?
  12. I appreciate someone trying to stir up conversation but these ratings appear to be worthless. If you look closer, Central is projected to finish 5th in conference. I would bet about anything I own that the Bears won't finish ahead of Reitz or North next year. The top 4 may very well end up this way but I think anyone with a brain could tell you this will likely be the top 4 in conference in some order. Reitz could sneak in there too. There are some major question marks with each of the top 4 right now. How those questions are answered in the summer will tell us a lot. I'll go ahead and make a guess on April 22nd though. 1. Memorial 2. Mater Dei 3. Castle 4 Reitz 5 Jasper 6. North I'll probably look like a fool later for picking Jasper 5th.
  13. Mater Dei wrestles in class 4A during the IHSWCA team state tournament and would fall into the 1A class by enrollment I believe.
  14. I didn't realize Duff was a transfer. Where did he start his high school years?
  15. Ok so you don't return everyone but I think we would all agree to start with those 3 and build from there.
  16. A lot of really good questions here. I'll try to answer a few or at least give my opinions. Best O-line has got to go to Memorial. I believe they had the best o-line in the conference last year and return everyone if I'm correct. They are my clear choice. Best QB will be Mason Wunderlich at MD. He will be a 3 year starter and has the experience of a couple of deep playoff runs the last two years. He's started 29 games going into his senior season and that has to be a huge benefit to him and MD. Best LB group would have to start with Castle and John Purdy. I think he's the top linebacker in the conference so the discussion has to start here. The others are a bit more murky. Best receiver group could be Memorial with Leo Collins leading the pack. Mater Dei returns Ethan Stolz and Drew Martin who both started last year and made contributions. Best running back. Mater Dei and Castle both return what will be 3 year starters. Memorial loses their dynamite tandem, North and Reitz both graduated their starters as well. I believe Jayden Thomas is gone from Bosse but could be wrong there. TE is tough because I'm not sure outside of Jasper who really uses a TE much. No clue from me. D line might be Castle as well. I know they lost some but they always seem to have a good d line. Mater Dei loses Ralph and Boots which is huge. Memorial loses most of their d line. Not sure what Jasper has returning but they were a menace last year. Another punt from me. Mater Dei returns both starting safeties in Pierre and Turner. Pierre lead the team with 4 interceptions a year ago and Turner had two if I remember correctly. Both played very well and should be better with a year of experience. Corners - no clue. Reitz returns most of their defensive backfield, including Roland Vera, so I might go with them here. I'm sure there are a lot of other opinions out there. I just wanted to try to get the ball rolling.
  17. It is good to have tough decisions but it's also good to know who your starting QB is going into summer. QB is a decision I would like to have made early on. If Ellsperman is going to move he needs to have time wherever he is going to learn the new position a little. I have no doubt he will be on the field somewhere.
  18. Do you think there is any chance Fisher starts at QB over Ellsperman? I can't imagine that will happen with all of the experience Ellsperman got last year but he's a good enough athlete that he can play outside or even as a running back. Should be an interesting decision coming down the line.
  19. Being a Mater Dei fan and parent, I hope you are right about the top of the list. I believe you are close but agree that this could be the year Reitz makes a leap. If Castle can score look out because that defense will be stout. I have no idea about Jasper but after last year there is no way I'm counting them out. Mater Dei has some big shoes to fill but there is a lot coming back too. Memorial has some questions to answer as well. It will be interesting to see who lines up in their backfield when games begin, but with that O-line they should be successful. I think the bottom half is spot on. North should be tough, Bosse improved, Central is going to have some tough times as will Harrison and VL. Can't wait to get going and we haven't even had a baseball game yet.
  20. No way Mater Dei's enrollment takes them to 3a and I don't believe they have earned enough points to jump due to success factor.
