The p/p hegemony continues unabated
Titan32 replied to Muda69's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
This always turns into a ....I have to win this argument kind of discussion. Any good decent human being who really "cares about the kids" etc. knows there is an advantage in population type that skews enrollment. Why would someone fight to screw over so many good hard working football kids? Because it's always been that way? Why are there so many attempts to fix this issue in every state in the union? Seems like a lot of effort going into a problem that isn't real. I would just rather you guys man up and say....we like our advantage, we paid for it therefore we deserve it. I could live with that. -

A private institution shouldn't receive public funding to do a public task. If they wish to do so then they should be open to some degree of control from which the $$$ cometh. -

Homogeneity also applies to the ability or willingness to participate in anything extracurricular. -

A few years ago we did a Bond for turf and some improvements (approximately $1,000,000), my memory isn't the best but I believe the property tax burden for the average tax payer was around two dollars (obviously hit our farmers a little harder). Additionally as assessed values continued to increase the bond amount diminishes organically so to speak. -

If you can't see the difference walking the halls of even the most homogeneous publics in comparison to any P/P....we can't even debate. Oh the money is a good thing...taking it anywhere isn't. I'm actually a Republican city councilman...go figure LOL. -

It's a travesty the state subsidizes any $$ via vouchers. -

And therein lies the issue: an undeniable, ridiculously homogenous student population that in itself should completely disqualify these institutions from being classified on that measurement alone. -

Any? I don't think 2 would have pushed us to 4A. -

If they aren't very good they probably won't have kids come in from outside the zone. -

Georgia uses “school zones” with a per student multiplier for students who come in from outside the zone. P/Ps also have to establish reasonable zones around their feeders. https://outsidethehuddle.net/2023/11/27/blitz-the-eternal-public-vs-private-debate-and-what-should-change-if-anything/?fbclid=IwAR0Q78ZTExHYdHUjv1C85DBaPfyIFddb_3EqshR-GiVDlvZGXLaMEzCGhdU -
2A State Championship Bishop Luers vs North Posey

Typically when you hear from the p/p faithful that a particular class or conference is "down" they don't really mean what we poor public guys think they mean. What they actually mean is that in said class or conference there aren't one or two P/Ps playing at a much higher than everyone else, which in their mind "should" be the case for the year to be normal. When perhaps those years shouldn't be considered the baseline at all, and instead those teams should compete in a different class altogether where they might at least get a little friction. -
I won't ever argue how the Coaches voted. Jett is going to be a real problem for the rest of the conference the next couple of years.

Technically....QBs can NOT have "AP yards" per max preps. AP yards are a combination of Rushing, Receiving, KR, PR and IR. QBs can have "Total Yards", which is a combination of Rushing, Passing, and Receiving. I don't know much about the DeLong kid...but here is a little: Sean DeLong had 1,860 AP yards this season (1313 rush, 425 rec, 122 return) and 23 TDs. (GS school record) For his career, he had 4,300 AP yards and 48 TDs in 46 games as a starter. (GS school record) Defensive career stats include 29 tackles, 2 for loss, 1 sack, 3 interceptions. State Champion and First Team All-Conference RB as a Sophomore. All Area WR, 1st Team All Conference WR, IFCA JR All-State WR as a Junior. So far 1st Team All Conference RB as a Senior. Currently has offers from Ky Wesleyan College, Taylor University, and Georgetown College.

at 4A, 5A and 6A the economies of scale at publics can overcome the enrollment type disparity at the lower levels. -
I did....and my athlete just plays who is in front of him ...we don't even discuss the current situation with the IHSAA. But, I also taught them with regard to life, nothing ever changes when people stick their head in the sand, be a catalyst for change...don't wait for other people to do it...never accept the status quo no matter the push back and no matter how many other people are willing to accept it. The IHSAA reads GID. For the record I have never been a recruiting/transfer complainer....I really don't think those things are the issue.

Remember when the PAC had a website that was maintained....that was cool.
