  1. Come on...19 miles.....and Pandemic games don't count bro!
  2. Lincoln City has shown that they will work to maintain as close to as possible the schedule they have had for many many years. They have also proven that they can be very successful in post season doing it that way.
  3. Thanks Buddy...you got me on Southport LOL! 😉
  4. You beat me to it. Perhaps I don’t understand how far Indy “metro”extends .
  5. I know this will come as a complete shock to you....SW Indiana doesn't want our need to schedule "Indy" schools. It's not our charter to help elevate the play of that part of the state. We also don't need the Indy media. We kind of have a really good "pocket" (no pun intended) of football going down here. Go talk to the Region guys...LOL.
  6. Tell me you know the AD without telling me you know the AD.
  7. Perhaps, but I’m not underestimating 200 kids that just breathe…its why trying to classify two organizations that do school completely differently by enrollment alone is a joke. Unless one enjoys building soccer trophy display cases. MD and GS will always be more analogous in terms of the pool of purpose driven students than say GS and Memorial.
  8. In addition, you might want to swap Memorial and Harrison due the the P&Ps vs Public differentiation with regard to percentage of athletes per enrollment. Most years GS and Mater Dei would be more similar in athletes per total enrollment and Memorial would be more similar to Castle. Enrollment alone is a horrible way to classify Big and Small. For that reason, it will be impossible to gain a consensus on what the divisions would look like, as no one would ever agree on how to split it up. If the SIAC ever did a divisional split it is more likely that the only option that would be accepted would be a geographical one.
  9. You will have to ask someone from those programs why they wouldn’t be open to such an arrangement…I’m just making an educated guess based on recent behavior on who would be open to what.
  10. This summarizes the options in the article nicely: The three options as proposed by the school corporation in a news release are: Option 1 New academic spaces at North, South and West Vigo High Schools Renovated co-curricular spaces at North, South and West $160 million referendum for new spaces $100 million for renovation projects over time An additional $0.0865 tax impact over rate Option 2 New academic spaces at North, South and West Vigo High Schools Renovated co-curricular spaces at North, South and West $260 million referendum for new spaces and renovation projects at one time Additional $0.2484 tax impact over current rate Option 3 New construction on current sites at North, South and West Vigo High Schools $333 million referendum for new schools Additional $0.3604 tax impact over current rate
  11. When divisions are geographical, championship games/weeks make sense...not always so much when the divisions are Big School, Small School.
  12. Why would you need the championship game/week? We don’t have it in the PAC and it works ok.
  13. Fair enough, as I stated, my opinion matters zero and time will tell. As for GS I am very happy we are where we are, I like our flexibility although it can create more work for admin.
  14. If we want to talk about bad 5A teams scheduled by school in SW Indiana....lets talk Jeffersonville. How comical it was to watch the folks over at Mt. Vernon (Posey) brag about that victory this year.
  15. I think the only complaint in SW Indiana in the past regarding Media Biased was how the Mt. Football award voting used to work. I think that is fixed now (with the IFCA member votes). Other than that we really don't need Indy media down here. Now, recruiting bias is another story, but that's a small town issue nation wide. It's always harder to get noticed when you don't play for a big school in a big media market.
  16. Obviously my opinion matters zero to anyone in Knox county but I think they really screwed up. They had been working so hard and doing a great job with program momentum then they saw the SIAC move as the next step in their journey. Even for P&Ps it's hard to keep a program sexy in your own hallways winning 3-4 games a season. It's a hard sell to kids, "Just wait for the post season and we might win 3 games!" I think VL would be a great fit in the PAC Big division where they would also have some non-conference flexibility to adjust for up and down cycles in the program.
  17. Come on man…I just saw what my fat old thumbs did there lol.
  18. Hart is 3-3 with Memorial in his tenor at GS and owns the largest margin of victory. No one in Southern Gibson County celebrated Memorial moving up. NO ONE. That said, I think coach Hurley should have been on this list. He is top notch.
  19. 2012 11-3 2013 13-1 2014 10-2 2015 13-1 2016 9-1 2017 11-1 2018 9-3 2019 8-3 2020 7-4 2021 14-1 Without Brady Allen (2012-2017) 67-9 (.882) 3 sectionals, 3 regionals With Brady Allen (2018-2021) 38-8 (.826) 1 sectional, 1 regional, 1 semi, 1 state
  20. I think public and private obviously make a huge difference. How nice would be to coach at a school where you don't have 200+ kids there doing nothing but breathing. Having more athletes per enrollment capita than equally classified publics must be a joy for a coach. Would be interesting to swap some of these guys around for a few hypothetical seasons and see what the results look like.
  21. The best version of yourself might be more concerned with finding a great fit for your little ones in school and the community you would like to seem them grow up in or a great church that is a fit or an administration that fully supports you or a community that supports the program in everyway or a feeder system that doesn't need an overhaul or perhaps proximity to grandparents matters. This list isn't all inclusive. That said I do think the list is a nice acknowledgment of what all these fine coaches are doing. Thanks for putting it together. I am a professional myself and I can tell tell you keeping my kids in the South Gibson School Corporation has cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars with regard to my own work. Best decision I ever made.
  22. This may come as a shock to some… but many coaches look for a forever home and just stay. It’s not always about the next biggest thing. Lots of the coaches on this list may never leave their current home. Life is about what’s right for you…not what others think is right for you. Even for a coach, there are lots of things in life more important than the profession itself, and what these things might be are as individual as a finger print.
