  1. Doesn’t tell the whole story. Looks like those contests are close more often than not. Love how you cherry picked the 7-3 in response to my “strong group” argument considering the current strong group has won 3 in a row, meaning it was 4-3 prior. You really like making my argument for me don’t you? Furthermore, either Roncalli, Cathedral or Chatard has ended Lebanon’s season in the sectional 7 out of those same 10 years you chose. How many WeBo teams get past the sectional in that same scenario? If I say Cathedral works REALLY hard will you finally shut up? Beat me to it.
  2. Did it ever occur to you that perhaps WeBo (who is competing in a class below Lebanon) has a crop of solid athletes going through right now? This isn’t that hard. Now go do your homework and get back to me.
  3. How about this: Pioneer exempt (since they are the topic of this thread) (they have a disadvantaged population rate of 48 percent by the way), give me a handful of public school programs that have made significant/deep tournament runs consistently who: 1. Have a disadvantaged population rate of over 50 percent... AND 2. Are in the bottom half of their particular class in terms of enrollment...
  4. Provide that comparison please. I’ll wait. Some of you throw out blanket statements, @Muda69links the actual data and you double down on your denial.
  5. And that advantage is still there...and is larger than its ever been.
  6. I never used the term “upscale” nor do I agree with it, but in an era where over 50 percent of students in Indiana are considered disadvantaged based on income, WeBo is definitely on the right side of things which makes it easier to create the culture they have. This is once again NOT a slight at the hard work being put in by WeBo (or any other school) but the starting line is pushed forward significantly when you have one fewer barrier (a damn important one) standing in your way. Cathedral works hard. Happy yet?
  7. But you have to admit that being at the bottom of each class doesn’t tell the whole story. There are schools In 6A in the same class with schools 2-2.5x their enrollment.
  8. They obviously don’t have the “work ethic.”
  9. Kill em with the data @Muda69...they don’t wanna hear it. If you are under the 50 percent threshold of “economically disadvantaged” (WeBo is at 32) it is MUCH easier to build this “culture” so many of the posters on here tout. Heads in the sand...out of sight, out of mind. I’d encourage those same posters to spend a few minutes sifting through the DOE data...or job shadow a fellow educator.
  10. Agreed. No shame in LOSING to Chatard, but they were DOMINATED.
  11. Sorry, after 2020 Merrillville has to earn their way back on to ANY list. Transfers, D1 talent galore and got embarrassed on their home field in the semi state. City and Valpo have shown well on the big stage recently, even in losses. Merrillville doesn’t get that same benefit.
  12. As previously stated, no real qualms with the list though I’d shuffle the top 6 (I agree with the teams just not the order) a bit. Can’t justify Roncalli above Cathedral/Carmel heading into the season in my opinion though I’d say results as the season progresses will tell the tale. The Hendricks County dynamic should be interesting with the attrition suffered by Brownsburg. I’m feeling like the Bulldogs may have peaked as a program. Their last two teams were way too talented for their seasons to end the way they did. In 2019, they celebrated a sectional SEMI FINAL victory over Avon like they’d won the state title and then laid an egg against an average Zionsville team a week later. In 2020, they celebrated a regular season win over a Ben Davis team that won THREE games the previous season in the same way and then looked like a deer in headlights in the sectional title game against Carmel. Not saying you have to act like you’ve been there before, but watch the college football playoff semifinals closely next time... How the semifinal winners react after their victory can tell you a lot about what to expect in the title game.
  13. I do realize that. I also realize that apparently I’ve struck a nerve. In your paragraph, you further illustrated my point. Franklin and Washington are still tasting minimal success that the remaining 6 township schools simply are not. Like it or hate it, the state’s grading system has ONE Marion County township school system that earned an A, two earned B’s and the remaining C’s. The donut county schools dominated once again. Marion County is a shell of its former self. As for your Lawrence Township statement, according to the IHSAA data, it appears that Lawrence North’s growth has coincided with Lawrence Central’s enrollment decline. I’ll give you a quarter of a point on that one. You are attempting to put lipstick on a pig here which is honorable.
  14. Good stuff DT. I’d make some minor tweaks in a couple of places but see nothing egregious. (I would like to point out that 8 of your top ten boast some of the lowest SES rates in the state and are well below the state average; and the other two are mega schools of 3800+...) (Sorry, I had to.)
  15. One of my favorite childhood pastimes in the summer as I geared up for college football was purchasing every preview magazine known to man and reading them cover to cover as the season approached. With the expansion of the transfer portal making preseason projections difficult and as an adult, I don’t have as much time on my hands as I used to, lol. That being said, one of my new favorite ways to fill that void is to look at futures bets that are revealed in Vegas every June. To pass time and the remaining summer months, I figured I would do something similar on here and get others’ take. I don’t have a favorite school so I’ll just post some central Indiana ones as I look through schedules. Feel free to comment with your projections or post your areas schools for others to comment upon. Also feel free your favorite school and give an honest over under number in terms of wins (regular seasonand postseason combined). Avon: O/U 5.5 Brownsburg: O/U 8.5 Fishers: O/U 5.5 Franklin Central: O/U 3.5 Hamilton Southeastern: O/U 4.5 Noblesville: O/U 2.5 Westfield: O/U 9.5 Zionsville: O/U 9.5 http://scoreboard.homestead.com/football/teams.htm
  16. And I thought @Footballking16 was top dog on derailing threads...

  19. I might lift my self-imposed social media ban to get in on this action.
  20. “The student population of all MIC schools makes it really difficult to catch up.” Check please.
  21. The first time Alabama has ever been considered a trend setter in anything? 😃
  22. Wanna double down on the Noblesville bet? Over/under 3.5 wins...
  23. Seems we get this post (or a similar one) every 4-6 weeks... Don’t let the haters wear you down my man.
