Looks good. Some intriguing storylines for sure. 1. Will Center Grove avoid complacency as they are now the hunted? How will the transfers step in and impact the program’s culture? Who will replace Steele? Will it be one guy or a committee of guys? 2. Can Westfield continue to be a statewide player and roll through the north? 3. How will Kirschner fare in year 1 at his alma mater? 4. Who will be king of the Hendricks County hierarchy? Brownsburg or Avon? Can the Bulldogs put the past two years of disappointment behind them? 5. Is anyone in that 8-12 group ready to breakthrough and provide a legitimate challenge to the top 7 (particularly the top three)?

They were SERIOUS. -
He seems to have embraced it and is not making excuses either. Spoke to enrollment but also talked about strength and conditioning programs in Indy being “superior.” The stipends for Indy area head coaches drawfs the rest of the state. That also can’t help matters. What are Coach Seiss’ 8-3 responsibilities?

I’ll give you half credit on the assignment but it’s due by 5pm. Its a simple question. Since you and your cronies down play enrollment and SES: “Name some programs who are over 50% disadvantaged and are also near the bottom in terms of enrollment relative to the rest of their class who have made consistent deep tournament runs.” @Muda69 may even be willing to tutor you.

I guess this is where I make you feel like you walk away a winner. Congrats. My point still stands. If you are over 50 percent disadvantaged, you sure as hell better be near the top of your class in terms of enrollment. Comparing teams that average 2 wins per season to make some sort of argument is not illustrating your point as well as you seem to think it is. I really should start charging for these summer school classes.

Hoosier High School Football - Pre Season Top 20

I guess that’s possible, though Cathedral beating Westfield by 36 (albeit in week 1) is pretty damning. I’m not sure Westfield belongs in that conversation...yet. Also willing to admit my bias against Merrillville. After the way a handful of their fans strained their triceps patting themselves on the back last September, it was amusing to see their season end in that manner. -
Once again, I never claimed WeBo was “upscale”. You’re aiming for the wrong target on that one my man. When the state average is over 50 percent, I stated that any corporation that is under 25 percent would fall into my definition of the term “upscale.” Nothing has been debunked. You are playing checkers dude. I’m using data from the DOE while you are throwing blind darts. Homework was due 7 minutes ago. ZERO cases have been provided. Checkmate.

No but they had two opportunities to show themselves to the rest of the state last season and crapped the bed both times. -

Now do the Westfield loss... -
You are putting words in my mouth. Never said “horrible” nor insinuated “remove.” Quit with the hyperbole...you are trying too hard. Outside of Washington and Franklin, the low-income, single parent households have taken over as the majority which makes it a steep uphill climb. Once again, it’s not that hard.

IHSAA Futures...(The MIC)

I’m going to say over on all three, not because I do not believe this team could be superior to that one but often you see complacency set in when a team is defending a championship. It happens at all levels and I don’t expect high school kids to be immune. -

It became a huge topic with exaggerated hyperbole last fall. He’s not lying that some of the Pirate fanbase made the claim he mentioned. -
Wrong. The school corporations (one of which I am a part of) have amazing educators, who can only do so much DUE to the factors I mentioned. It’s not a reflection of the educators, rather the other factors that go in to education. Growth, which is what you are speaking of, is a great thing but the starting line is different for those suburban schools whom are affluent. Two parent households with college educated adults who place a high priority on education are more readily seen in the donut counties these days. Those are the “stable backgrounds” you are speaking of above. I can give you the stats all day if you’d like. Your three paragraph response validated my stance.

Completely plausible...but you still don’t get it. A favorable SES doesn’t guarantee success but the combination of a poor SES and a low enrollment compared to the rest of the schools in your class is a death sentence in the sport of football. Of course, unless you do your homework and provide a legitimate example. Its due in the morning.
