There is an existing idiom about one bad apple spoiling the tree. Sorry I don’t want to see/hear folks whom are benefiting from the perks that the very same country they are “wishing was better for others”. But maybe that’s just me. I also don’t like hearing folks who make 6-8 figures lecturing me about “injustice.”

Indirectly, yes. One of the ADs who reached out stated they’d still like to play a MIC football schedule while being a member of the HCC. Seems arrogant to me as they seem to want it both ways and I’d be shocked if that’s how it went down but it’s not hard to connect the dots.

Not sure if you are just that blind or are being purposefully aloof but it’s possible to LOVE your sport yet HATE your country at the same time. These athletes are working their asses off because they love their sport and live in a country that allows them to profit off of that sport. You think those air pods are blaring “God Bless America” and “America the Beautiful” when they are at the gym? Come on man.

I was ridiculed for making this exact same statement on this very message board back in May. Its great to see someone who walks the front lines and is tuned in with the sport and the youth that play it say the same. (Willing to bet he doesn’t get throttled for saying it though.)

I view it in the opposite direction. Two MIC schools have become bored in a majority of sports and are looking at their options from a competitive standpoint. Those two have also taken over in TRACK...wrap your mind around that. Have I said too much?

I’ve let my opinion be known. Franklin Central and Avon. I think they could clean up in the country club sports and eventually become competitive in football and basketball. Many people don’t think that Brownsburg and Avon would split though...which I also see.

These mega conferences will be great for basketball (see each team once) but will be a logistical nightmare for football with imbalanced schedules.

Until the HCC takes over as the premiere conference in the Midwest. This move makes the HCC top 5-10 in the COUNTRY when all sports are considered. The country club sports maybe top 3. A second HCC AD has now confirmed this rumor...

Want to keep a MIC schedule in football though...

An HCC AD has confirmed that two MIC member schools have reached out to the HCC to gauge interest.

Bump...the whispers have started.

Whiteland and Harrison also (unless you were just referring to the HCC/6A). Also, Valpo and Zionsville. In fact, I think that both Whiteland and Zionsville will be firmly entrenched in the 6A conversation in the coming years. Both clearly programs of the future in my opinion.

1. Meant who else is on your Mr. Football shortlist. 3. What can Penn do to close the gap? 4. Gimme some metrics for CG as the greatest of all time. 5. So they’ll never reach the top in their respective classes?

I think he is talking more programs to keep an eye on long term as they are ascending...could be wrong. With Homestead you seemed to have answered your own question and with Penn, one can’t deny that their next years are behind them, but that could change I suppose.

Agreed. (We gotta stop doing this.) I think this is a make or break year. (I also think all of the momentum Allen is building in Bloomington certainly doesn’t help.)

Good stuff DT. A few talking points. 1. You think Allen has the edge over Jackson/Curry of CG? Who else is on your short list? 2. How long do you believe it takes before Crown Point is a realistic regional/semi state contender? 3. Is the Elkhart/Penn gap narrowing more so because of something Elkhart and other programs ARE doing or something that Penn IS NOT? 4.. What specifically do you need to see from CG in 2021 to leave no doubt in your mind as far as your “all time greatest” statement? 5. What’s the short/long term ceiling for the three Lafayette programs mentioned?

This will be sort of a make or break year IMO. Injuries combined with Temptation’s Covid pass means the jury is still out.
