I know one week is not much of an indication but I firmly think Warren has still cemented themselves as “the best of the rest” in the MIC.
I foresee them running the table through the Carmel game.
Center Grove is going to do that to a lot of teams.
That changes things a bit. Maybe Pike can sneak up on a couple of mid-tier MIC teams.
No real shame in how Warren lost to CG, pretty predictable. Was just shocked they seemed to be dragging guys off the turf all night. Conditioning?
Announcers went with “cramps” but that usually affects both teams fairly equally.
Can’t speak to the flow of the Pike/Zionsville game but 28-10 is pretty damn impressive.
NC’s loss didn’t “shock me” but the margin did.
LC is in deep trouble and is making @DT look like a prophet.
I had five turnovers for BD tonight (though I may be off by one as I think a late INT was overturned). I’m sure we will hear the normal “BD will improve” rhetoric but they simply looked overmatched all night against a Brownsburg team that lost A LOT of talent.
LN’s win over Avon was the lone bright spot in the unofficial MIC/HCC showdown tonight as Fishers, Zionsville, Brownsburg and HSE easily disposed of their MIC counterparts.
Same old story in August...will it finally happen in October/November?
Came in to tonight thinking both 5A and 6A were wrapped up.
Cathedral did nothing to change my mind in 5A.
CG took care of business but Carmel was damn impressive.
Chatard losing to Brebeuf makes me much more confident in Roncalli in 4A.
Luers looking damn fine in 2A.
Hounds dig a 17 point hole and then drop 49 points to beat KY #1 Trinity 49-38!
Not sure where Trinity ranks nationally in 2021, but a helluva win nonetheless.
A legit threat to CG?
Not an expert on all four corners of the state as I follow some areas more closely than others, but many of these seem aggressive. Week 1 is always the hardest to predict for obvious reasons.
I'll take a stab at a few (I may have a problem):
Westfield +14.5
Ben Davis (E)
Carmel +18
Warren +27
Lawrence North +5.5
New Pal +5
Fishers +4.5
Pike +15.5
Lawrence Central +19
Whiteland (E)
Brebeuf +29.5
But, barring injury, no outcome in this contest negatively impacts Luers’ ability to compete for the 2A title this fall.
”Swagger” doesn’t help much when you’re taking on a school 5x your size.
Just my opinion.
