  1. Just wish that folks would speak the truth and unfiltered...the young kids at BD, Mount Vernon and Warren deserve it.
  2. Could absolutely be true. Guess I’m more of an old school “till death do us part” kinda guy. People’s words don’t expire in my world, do they in yours? The numbers/“grind” are the same on the east side of Indy as they are on the west side.
  3. I guess your best team in school history getting curb stomped by Roncalli in the tournament tends to change your priorities. I wish him well but “coach speak” needs it’s own dictionary these days. In 2017, he needed a break from “the grind” and wanted to “work with smaller numbers of kids.” I like Mike and have never heard anyone utter a negative word about him. I wish him well. Home run hire for WC.
  4. You’re wrong.
  5. Houston had a poor snap with under a minute to go when they were inside the Colts’ 5 yard line with a chance to win it. Football is a funny game.
  6. Yep, things have a way of evening themselves out I guess. Blew a 4th quarter lead at JACKSONVILLE (the Jags lone win obviously) in week 1. Choked away this past weekend’s game in Pittsburgh. Of course they probably should not have beaten Green Bay or Houston so the only people they have to blame are themselves.
  7. The non-playoff bowls are spring games for the following season...nothing more, nothing less.
  8. The college analogy just does not fit here my friend. Sorry.
  9. 🙄
  10. Don’t have the data at my fingertips right now but if I remember correctly I saw a statistic recently stating that the majority of NFL players and pro bowlers were 3 star recruits coming out of high school so this is not necessarily true. Bama, Clemson and OSU turn away three star kids at times.
  11. Eh, don’t really like this idea. Can’t place my finger on why but I get the high school analogy.
  12. THIRTY-THREE of the 247 top 100 recruits for 2021 are either committed to one of the big three or have them among their finalists... There are 130+ FBS programs...
  13. LSU: https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/lsu-self-imposes-bowl-game-ban-for-2020-season-as-part-of-cooperation-with-ncaa-investigation/amp/ Tennessee: https://amp.usatoday.com/amp/3984613001 Florida: https://www.cbs17.com/sports/florida-mullen-sanctioned-for-ncaa-recruiting-violations/amp/ They’ll all be swept under the rug in a matter of weeks after Bama’s “dominance” takes over the news cycle.
  14. Iron sharpens iron though, no? The only way for non-Indy schools to “close the gap” competitively is to schedule matchups against them. Not necessarily disagreeing with your assessment but isn’t this the ultimate surrender flag?
  15. The 6A title goes through Indy and the suburbs for the foreseeable future. The best 6A program offered by The Region will continue to be fodder at the semi-state level. At least at the 5A level, you are not stuck with an enormous enrollment disadvantage and only one bully (Cathedral) in the way most years. Don’t know the first thing about Coach Mason or region football specifically just placing myself in his shoes. If titles and late season success are the goals, he’s right where he should be at Michigan City.
  16. Tend to agree. Still about who you’ve beaten. They did play FOUR more games than IU, and FIVE games (Louisiana, OUx2, Texas, Okie State) against teams ranked in the final top 25 poll. Not as egregious as you think.
  17. Yes, they were better than a sub .500 Wisconsin team. I admitted so much. We are on the same team here. They DO have a case. I am in full agreement, but it is not as egregious as many are painting it to be. We will find out how much of a case they have once the game kicks off. If it’s a struggle/one possession game, then it’d seem to me that they were right where they belonged.
  18. As a Michigan fan I can attest to the prestige card playing a huge factor here. Michigan frequently gets invites to bowl games that they are not deserving of just due to the name recognition, alumni who are willing to travel and history. That being said, let’s not pretend that this game is suddenly beneath Indiana football.
  19. Had I told Hoosier football fans back in October they would be playing on January 2nd, you’d be jumping for joy. Now that you are, it’s still not good enough. I ask again, name Indiana’s signature win this year. Their claim to fame is a close loss to a playoff team. They beat a Wisconsin team with nothing to play for in front an empty Camp Randall Stadium? While I also do not want to defend the big 12 (Oklahoma at six in the final playoff rankings is a joke), Iowa State DID defeat both OU and Texas.
  20. While your points and valid and do carry some eight, if IU being so “slighted” then why are they ONLY a 7 point favorite over a 4-5 Ole Miss team? You can point to Pennix but as I previously stated, Ole Miss is probably a 6-7 win outfit in the Big Ten in 2020. IU would likely be the 4-5 unit were the conferences reversed. I hate defending the SEC and they usually get a bump in these types of situations but the “disrespect” card is getting old already and the game hasn’t even been played yet.
  21. How about a scholarship opt out? If you accept a scholarship, you are bound by the NCAA rules and mandates. OR You can pay your own way, decline the scholarship and do as you please.
  22. For those keeping score at home, that is now THREE $EC schools (LSU, Tennessee and now Florida) who are under investigation this month alone for improper actions.
  23. “Send Everyone Cash”
  24. Now Florida and Mullen in trouble.. ”The SEC...it just means more.”
