Never thought it’d say this but I’m still waiting for Warren to beat a great (sorry Snider and Warsaw) team. The combined record of the teams they’ve beaten is 25-31. The one time they did, they were throttled. Not saying, they can’t get hot but it’s a 1 game season for Warren as their schedule is currently constructed. It’s CG in the regional. Not your typical CG team as we’ve seen this fall but still THE thorn in Warren’s side. Now, there is also a team on the southeast side of Indy that is building momentum and could potentially make this conversation a moot point.

The difference in team speed between Lawrence north and the rest of the field this year is as wide as the Grand Canyon. Not necessarily saying that is why they will win as sometimes that can be negated in sloppy, cold weather games, which you usually see in the tournament, but that has been the most popping thing about the Wildcats to me this year. Brownsburg’s win over Fishers now looks much less impressive as does tonight’s squeaker against Noblesville. Brownsburg barely edged Westfield, who beat CG by single digits who got rolled by LN tonight. I think we finally have our parity in 6A.

Should be given extreme consideration for #1 in the various polls come next week. I’ve moved em there.

Warren’s D is just put in so many bad positions and (no offense) LN is the first offense they have played this season with the ability to make them pay. Heard a stat recently that Warren has 21 turnovers in 7 games. They’ve forced more than that and actually have a plus turnover margin, but have rarely cashed in when their defense gives them the ball. Crazy stat.

I can get on board with the premise of this but Moore has been at one place for 25 years whereas Hart has two state titles at previous stops. Also, Moore had CG making deep postseason runs from day 1. Took CG to the state finals in his second year and won two additional regionals in his first 5 years. Hart had AMAZING success at Reitz and Warren and has yet to even sniff that at Brownsburg, specifically in the postseason. Just crazy to me that a coach at the 6A level has won 81 percent of his games in 9 years and has never advanced past the regional.

Yeah, LN will have to play much more disciplined to beat the Irish but I still maintain their up side/ceilng is higher.

What’s sorta scary is that LN didn’t really play all that well last Friday night and still won going away. Multiple penalties, points taken off the board and turnovers. They’ve got a lot of speed and skill, especially on the outside, but it will be interesting to see if they can lean on their run game in November, which is inevitable as the weather turns. Fishers has all of the tools and resources to be successful. Not disagreeing with your assessment but they are still an ascending program. You said so yourself in the preseason if I remember correctly.

Just for fun, and not necessarily saying I disagree but why Brownsburg over say, Westfield, HSE, Fishers, etc?

Unless something changes, Carmel is likely going home in the sectional for the fifth straight year. The standard at Carmel HAS to be higher and they have been surpassed by all three of their county rivals in my opinion. Its a trend at this point. There were some whispers in Warren circles this summer that this was the "best Warren team in 20 years"...what an insult that has turned out to be. Warren is a pressure cooker and while Kirschner may receive the benefit of the doubt due to his longevity, you can't toss the above quote around, then get embarrassed on your home field with the conference title on the line AND suffer an EIGHTH straight loss to CG (in a hypothetical rematch in the regional). Just my opinion.

Hamilton Southeastern @ Franklin Central: Trap (yeah I used it again) for the Royals entering their week 9 showdown with Brownsburg? We will see. Franklin Central has risen from the ashes these last three weeks after a disappointing stretch in September. Can they make it two in a row over the HSE district? I say they fall just short. HSE wins 20-16. Noblesville @ Brownsburg: Two teams heading in opposite directions as the Millers just haven't had what it takes since conference play started. Bulldogs seemed to score at will last week at Zionsville. The Millers' dedication to the running game will keep the score in check here but it still probably won't be pretty. Brownsburg wins 31-10. Westfield @ Fishers: The Shamrocks rolled over Avon last week to keep their conference title hopes alive whereas Fishers dropped a stunner to FC. Fishers has a pretty high ceiling but it also seems a lower floor than the other top tier HCC teams. I will go with the proven commodity here, but Fishers will have pride at home. Westfield wins 24-17. Zionsville @ Avon: Two teams in desperate need for a win. I will go with Zionsville on the road. Eagles win 30-21. What say you?

Carmel @ Warren Central: For some reason I feel like these are two programs looking for new coaches in the offseason unless something magical happens over the next 6 weeks. Carmel's downward trend is no longer a speed bump, but rather the norm. Warren was completely outclassed in all facets last week against Lawrence North. Its state title or bust at these two schools and their 2024 performance is falling below the standard. I honestly have no idea what to expect from this one. I trust Carmel's ability to play complementary football more so than I do Warren so I will pick Carmel in a close one, 24-20. Center Grove @ Lawrence North: Wow. What a game this should be. CG let one slip away against Cathedral last week, whereas Lawrence North made it 5 in a row against Warren with a big statement win on the road. I have been bullish on both programs and wonder if this is the year LN can pull the upset. It's their best chance that I can remember. Unless I miscounted, CG has won 19 in a row over LN. I'm riding with LN though I am struggling as I type this. CG losing two in a row? Hasn't happened since 2019. LN wins 34-31. Lawrence Central @ Ben Davis: Just when I was ready to throw dirt on top of BD, they had a resounding win on the road last week at Carmel. Lawrence Central, on the other hand, rolled over NC as expected. LC has been a bit more consistent than the Giants so I will take em on the road in a coin flip game. Bears win 27-23. Pike @ North Central: Pike gets right this week as all other MIC members have. A blowout win over Guerin followed by another over NC has the Red Devils riding high entering the tournament. Pike wins 34-14. What say you?

No, because they have modeled their football/track program after Center Grove and have the right guys. They get modern football.
