  1. I guess I don't understand that, but yes, to each their own. I did grow up here, btw. And do coach here now.
  2. I googled all of them before I posted what I posted. I understood how far in minutes and miles they were from Evansville when I posted. Thanks. We don't have soccer close to us, not hard to figure out. Not sure there was ever anything for you to take issue with.... I was asked a question about why kids in Brownstown don't play soccer.
  3. Not a ton of our kids live in Brownstown. Poseyville to Evansville 20 miles. Tell City, Ferdinand are located RIGHT on an interstate. Petersburg RIGHT on 69. Southridge is in a county that has 3 other soccer-playing HSs.
  4. Sorry to hear that.
  5. It's not wrong. NP is 25 mins from Evansville. That's a far drive? Tecumseh very close to the eastside of Eville. Pike Central/TC on Hwys that are easy access to Evansville where there's an abundance of soccer. Our kids don't have that. Heck some of our kids live 30-40 mins from an interstate. In the fall-- our kids play football, baseball, or hunt... compared to driving over 3hrs round trip to the Northside of Indy to play soccer. Not gunna happen.
  6. Yeah yeah, I knew they didn't like how fast the ball traveled, but... idk. Seymour soccer stadium is very impressive. Looks great.
  7. Proximity to Evansville/big city in general. We are secluded, we are an island. There is nowhere for our kids to go and play soccer that isn't a hassle.
  8. Yep. I like the infield play on it, a lot. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to stop on a slide!
  9. What do those schools have in common that Brownstown doesn't? Especially North Posey/Tecumseh.... but even still Pike Central/Tell City have very simple drives/access to... Outside of that--- we simply don't want it.
  10. We have 480 students, so 240-ish boys... 60-65 of those play football. We also don't really have anyone in the community that cares to have soccer.
  11. We get a huge amount of time on it, even with no soccer.
  12. And while we're on the topic... I know soccer people don't like the turf for soccer, I don't have a lot of opinion there.... For baseball/softball it's tremendous. Keeping the batters boxes level probably being the biggest.
  13. Yep. I have had them on there!
  14. Mute button works well for trolls
  15. Year A (this year)... our schedule will look like this... Scrimmage- turf 1- turf 2- tuf 3- turf 4- turf 5-grass 6- tuf 7- turf 8- turf 9- turf Year B (next year) scrimmage- turf 1- turf 2- turf 3- grass 4- turf 5- turf 6- turf 7- turf 8- turf 9- grass So... in a two-year time frame, our 20 schedule nights against other teams, 17 of them will be on turf. Wild
  16. More updated #s.... % of schools with turf.. 6A- 100% 5A- 84% 4A- 83% 3A- 55% 2A- 24% 1A- 17% State as a whole-- 55% have turf 42% don't have turf 3% don't have own field
  17. No no. No worries at all. Apologize I came off that way.
  18. Yes yes. thought I had heard that, needed to confirm. welp.. .more adjusting. That is all from 4 years ago when I was on here trying to get posters to tell me what fields had which playing surface. I always questioned that one.
  19. I mean, those are two pretty solid fields. Two of the better grass fields, consistently, that I've ever coached/played on. Salem/Corydon fields were poor. (just like ours was before we replaced it)... again, not a shot at either of those schools, just the reality. NH's field isn't bad, huge crown, which was annoying as a QB. They also have hills in the back of each endzone lol
  20. Oh no. More number crunching. There's another one I was surprised didn't have it.
  21. New #s look like this--- 166/313= 53% with turf 138/313= 44% without turf (2.5% of schools don't have their own field) ----------------------------------- 6A- 100% 5A- 82% 4A- 73% 3A- 55% 2A- 24% 1A- 20%
  22. I will make these changes
