  1. Yeah, he just wasn't a good fit for that program despite the record and accomplishments. I think he will get another opportunity at a big program if he wants one. It's really hard to replace a legend, and even harder when the coaching personalities are so different. I agree, the Gorman game should be great!
  2. Awesome that Brownsburg, BD, and CG are on the list! Going to be interesting to see how Mater Dei (Santa Ana) does this season. New head coach and crazy schedule with only one opponent ranked outside the pre-season top 100: Centennial #8, Bishop Gorman #1, Kahuku #35, St. Frances Academy #18, Santa Margarita #82, Servite #95, JSerra, St. John Bosco #4, and Orange Lutheran #33
  3. This thread totally brings a smile to my face. TA was one of one, and his passion for Indiana high school football was unmatched. Honestly, I felt like I lost a family member the day I read of his passing. It's so great his legacy lives on through this forum.
  4. I posted this on another thread, but we have NIL for high school players here in California. It hasn't really changed the landscape that much, if at all. The power programs before NIL are still the power programs with NIL.
  5. We have NIL for high school players here in California, but I haven't really seen that much impact, yet. The power programs before NIL are the same power programs after its implementation.
  6. Would the free transfer be exercisable any time after the student's freshmen year or only exercisable between a student's freshmen and sophomore year?
  7. Here is a good article summarizing how it's done here in Southern California: Explaining the new Southern Section football playoff format - Los Angeles Times (latimes.com)
  8. I totally get what you are saying, seems like adults trying to manufacture a level of excitement for the players. It just looks/ feels flat. That said, short of Marcus Freeman coming around that corner as the new HC, who would have delivered the level of excitement the administration was hoping to receive. But winning has a way of generating excitement, that will be the real test.
  9. If the IHSAA created an "Open Class" that was intended to be comprised of the best 32 teams in the state, regardless of enrollment numbers, and inclusion was voluntary, would they be able to fill it?
  10. Did Coach Yeoman win a title while HC?
  11. They don't seem to be having a problem losing in the sectionals with one high school!
