HNAC Week Five
WalterSobchak replied to from_the_sidelines007's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Triton shouldn't need what I said. The seniors over there know how lopsided the scores have been vs Pioneer and they see a Pioneer squad right now that's got a lot of holes then most Pioneer squads have had lately. -

I say Pioneer wins simply because They've never lost two conference games in the HNAC and haven't lost two conference games in the same season since 2001 in general.. I think that will be broken but if I had to choose it'll be judson that does it. -

Great game by the Jays. Another tough loss for the Warriors but continuing to see definite improvement. Hung around with Judson for most of the first half. Judsons experience, size and strength took over. -

Pioneer on the verge of their first losing season since 95. Wow. -

I should have been more clear, maybe im different but I think everyone knew LaVille was going to be good and the way they are trouncing teams isn't a surprise. They've been building for this season for a bit. I think everyone at laville and those who have watched Plummer play knew he could toss the pig skin around and its nice to see them actually let him do it. DeWitt and Smith have been around for 40 years it seems lol and it's not a surprise to see what they are doing. I think the key will be against Judson is throwing the ball. We know LaVille can run it as can Judson and both teams can stop the run. It'll come down to if Aldric Harper or Plummer can hit the open guy on some passes. -

How has LaVille exceeded expectations? Lol they've beaten everyone they should and as bad as they should. -

You literally said lavilles most talented group is their lineman. I'm clearly saying their skilled guys are just as good or if not better. -

I think Triton could still make a run next year. If they have just a functional offensive line. Their QB and RB are good enough to take them far. Stinks that this year is the year with Judson being loaded and as usual Pioneer is waiting. -

LaVille's skilled kids are just as good as their line. Plummer, DeWitt and Smith can flat out play. -

I saw it every week last year on how that's so true. 2 4 year starters and 2 kids that had started for 2 years but had a 3rd year of playing as a sub vs see it every week this year on how true that is on the other side of the spectrum. 3 kids played jv line last season, another was a tight end on jv last year and the 5th was playing middle school football last year. -
Rensselaer would probably either be the best or the 2nd beat team in the HNAC. Pioneer is a good team for most schools this year but not your typical Pioneer team. LaVille is a very good team but Andrean is king until they are knocked off. They can Amazon the sectional title to LCC right now.

I was very impressed with how their QB and RB played against Winamac last season and really feel they could win conference next season w the QB and RB. I don't think they'll beat North Judson this year but nobody gave Winamac a shot in 2020 and Winamac got them in sectional... Triton will have a shot but will have to play very very good, much better then they did against LaVille. -

If you feel confident in the back up be my guest and have him play all phases. I absolutely dislike my QB playing defense. I used to get nervous about Compton playing it even though he was such a good DB. I especially don't like them playing special teams. Our Qb this year punts and it scares the heck out of me.. makes me miss Brayden Heater a ton lol. -

I don't think it's Plummers fault he doesn't go both ways. It's just me but if I could help it, I'd never want my QB playing D esp if the offense is built around him. I wouldn't even play Cheyenne on defense if I was NJ. He could handle it but way too important offensively. -

I think Cheyenne will be HNAC player of the year unless LaVille wins conference then it'll be Plummer. -

Cheyenne Allen would like a word with you. As would Plummer from LaVille. -

Never said I doubted them. Triton has some very good athletes and could be very dangerous next season with their QB and RB and most of the top teams this year take a step back next season. I just don't see Pioneer losing more than two conference games and don't see Knox losing anymore then 3. -

Probably that game and that's it. HNAC is pretty spread apart. I think next season is when you'll see good games week in and week out -

Howstraser knows a young team when he sees it. Paul DeWitt coming into the season had more varsity starts then all 30+ kids Winamac has on their team which isn't good lol. I thought LaVille did a pretty good job. It got a little out of hand in the 2nd and couple of their scores were off pick 6s. I think LaVille did a nice job at not running up the score and not trying to show up or put a hurting on our kids. It was pretty clear early on that Jones or Bell weren't playing either. So it could have gotten real bad but the Winamac kids played pretty hard. Its super hard to tell a kid that they and the team are getting better even though in 3 of the 4 weeks, the scores don't show it. -

Knox is a sleeping giant. One of these years Radtkes gonna have a monster of a team. -

I can't judge what I've seen so far due to Winamac’s inexperience this season but out of the 4 games, I was impressed with Knox the most, then LaVille then Pioneer. I think conference will go LaVille Judson/Pioneer/Knox battle it out for 2nd Triton behind them Winamac and Culver Caston -

As I previously said Any team that has speed that can get to the outside will give NJ fits. That's why the conditions of the field really hurt Winamac and that's why North Judson didn't want to play Winamac at Logansport on Saturday. Game would have been much much different. -

Didn't luers have six starters out against Eastside + their QB went out early?
