  1. I wish Elkhart still played Goshen. I know Goshen has been down for a while but in the old days this used to be a really big game. I know Central was playing Goshen until Elkhart went back to 1 school and Goshen dropped the game.
  2. Going to seeding opens up a whole bag of politics. There is already enough there with how sectionals are aligned.
  3. Was there any thought of Coach Amstutz staying on as head football coach as well as taking the A.D. position? I know there are a few schools here in Northern Indiana that do that. For years Bill Sharpe was both A.D. and head coach at Jimtown. I think at Goshen the current A.D. is also the head wrestling coach.
  4. Coach Amstutz has done a great job at East Noble. This move creates a great opportunity for someone lucky enough to get this job.
  5. I would think this would be the ideal job for a young successful head coach at a lower class school looking to move up in class. That is unless there is a in house assistant ready to take over?
  6. Speculation has Goshen, Warsaw, Concord being joined by S.B. Adams in the same sectional. I also saw the Elliott kid signed to play at Ball State giving Goshen 2 players head to D1 next season.
  7. Amazing run for Penn High Football. Between Coach Geesman and Coach Yeoman they combined for over 500 wins. Best of Luck to Corey in whatever lies ahead.
  8. Sad that 3-4 wins is all that is predicted for Elkhart.
  9. For years all I heard over here in Elkhart was the excuse for the lack of success in athletics was the split to 2 high schools. Now that we are back to 1 high school records have only gotten worse.
  10. Wow I didn't realize Coach Wogomon resigned well before the season was over!! Matt Thacker moving from Fairfield to be named new head coach at Wawasee. Great hire for Wawasee!! NLC Defensive Coordinators better be ready to defend the option with Warsaw, Mishawaka, and now Wawasee being option offenses in 2024.
  11. So these write ups would be filed by the game officials and not the schools AD?
  12. If this IHSAA write ups at Goshen really happened wouldn't you be able to look it up with the IHSAA? Is this possibly why Coach Wogomon stepped down or was he asked to resign?
  13. Elkhart High has an enrollment of over 3100 students and their combined football/basketball record is 4-23. I thought combining Central and Memorial would bring about a more competitive athletic program.
  14. For some reason we are really struggling in athletics right now. I too thought when we combined things would be much better.
  15. It is something to see how far the Northridge program has come in the last 12 years. Coach Wogomon got things started and Coach Eppley has kept it rising to new levels.
  16. Great facility. We are so behind the times here at Elkhart. Locally I have seen Concords which is really nice and I hear Goshen's is outstanding as it's there old pool facility. Elkhart is still dealing with the facility they have used for years.
  17. Redskins7391 sounds like a good plan. I would think with the need for teachers #2 shouldn't be a problem. I know we have some of the same issues here in Elkhart. Got to recruit and why his recruiting back ground should help.
  18. With the way teachers are in high demand these days I would think it wouldn't be hard for the new coach to get his new staff positions. He probably already had coaches in mind when he applied for the job.
  19. 3 Reported IHSAA sideline issues is very concerning. Does sound like the new coach has a re-build project on his hands. With his college experience I wonder if he will use any of those contacts to put together a coaching staff. Any word on the Wawasee job?
  20. Redskins7391 you sound very connected to Goshen. Can you explain why kids aren't playing or transfer out? What in your opinion can the new coach do to fix these 2 issues?
  21. Coach Wogomon did have an established record of success before coming to Goshen and coach Parks is the son of a previously very successful Goshen coach. What I don't understand is the comments about kids leaving Goshen but yet their enrollment is growing. I looked at the enrollment rankings and they are listed as the 7th largest 5A school and are 100 kids shy of Warsaw from being the largest school in the NLC. I know here at Elkhart the enrollment has decreased some sense we went back to 1 high school.
  22. I would think with 2000 kids at Goshen high School he would have some kids to target and encourage into playing. Hopefully they give him more time than the last coach.
  23. These Varsity Guys you say that have moved on, wouldn't that be a big focus of the new head coach to get them to come back out. I read where Goshen was able to start him as a teacher right after the holidays which I would think is a big plus for next year getting him in the building that quickly.
  24. I have heard that there are not many staff changes coming with Elkhart. Coach Curry pretty much sticking with the previous coaches.
