I drive through western Boone county and the Dover area quite frequently (in my sticker free 2005 Dodge Caravan, btw) The sprawl is coming.  Every day Lebanon becomes more and more just a bedroom community for the Indy metro urban sprawl.

How is your Outback with the "wag more, bark less", "life is good", and "Feel the Bern" stickers doing?

They are getting ready to build a massive airstrip and sort facility west of Lebanon.  Don’t expect too much growth between WeBo and Lebanon.  No one wants to live near that.

I mean Brownsburg has been Transfer U the last several years so I'm sure the Brownsburg AD did sign off. It'd be a bad look when you accept a plethora of transfers but don't sign off on players transferring to another program.

Brownsburg has a history of not signing off, if the player doesn’t move.  Happened to a kid for us last year.  He had to sit 365 days before eligible.  But yes, they don’t mind accepting transfers!

I want you to stop desperately trying to stir up controversy and read what I am about to write here.

Coach Hart accepted the promotion to  Athletic Director for Gibson Southern THIS YEAR.  Let me repeat….THIS YEAR….Allen was already a senior.  The team had its eyes set on a state title and was one of the favorites to represent 3A south.

Why on earth would someone take on a new position that requires a ton more responsibility and one that relies on the person being a stable fixture to the school if he was thinking about leaving at all? Especially in this Covid era where so many sports are cancelling matchups or rescheduling.

I’m fairly certain that if Coach Hart had even a small desire to change things up, that it would have been mentioned during the hiring process.  No school board would unanimously vote someone into being the Athletic Director for their HS if they didn’t believe the new hire would keep the position for some time after….and on top of that, anyone applying to be the AD wouldn’t do so if they knew they were going to seek out other opportunities in the near future.

Everything you just typed out was a complete waste of your time simply because you didn’t read and you neglected to use any critical thinking on this subject.

Being the AD is a tiresome job.  Wouldn’t you think he’d give that up to make the same money at a big school just coaching football.  Every coach we’ve have at TW had the same thing.  Community support, friends on staff, great facilities, good feeder system, etc.  Gillin, Haste, Coll all left for bigger better jobs and more money.

Perhaps the IHSAA should allow schools to petition DOWN a class?  At least for a cycle.  I think of schools like Crawford County (0 - 12 or 13) and Pike Central (1 for 35?) who have had no postseason success.  Crawford has now dropped to 2A but were 3A for awhile and has never won a postseason game in its history.  Pike has been solidly 3A but only once in the early 2000's have won a single 3A tournament game.

They both field teams in the 20-30 player range.   I'm not going to agree to a forced minimum standard to play varsity football.  That is a local decision.

I would be for this idea.  But would rather see schools be allowed to opt out of the tournament and play one or two more games against other teams that have opt out.

  5. d. If a school which has participated in a higher enrollment class during the previous reclassification period achieves a tournament series success point value of Two (2), Three (3), Four (4) or Five (5) points in a specific sport, such school shall remain in the same enrollment class in that sport for the next reclassification period. The foregoing notwithstanding, if there is a change in the school’s enrollment which would result in the school being placed in a higher enrollment class than the enrollment class dictated by this section, then in that circumstance the school shall be placed in the enrollment class determined by the school’s enrollment for the next reclassification period.

I’m not sure if I read this correctly, but if success factor is calculated using this year and last year.  Both Chatard and WeBo will stay up for the next reclassification because both have 4 points.

I am almost 100% certain it will be reclassified this year.  Sectionals realigned with enrollment and success factors.  It's either a 1 year cycle or a 3 year cycle.  It would be nice if the IHSAA would clarify all of this.  Clearly we all have differing opinions of how we interpret what they put out last March/April.  There is a thread somewhere discussing this very thing.

You are praying WeBo moves back down to 2A.

    Will be interesting

Along with Danville and Tri-West, I'd toss West Lafayette into that mix.  WL has been at the top of that 3A pile for a long time ... just teetering on tipping to 4A.  At one time, I believe that WL used to be a closed-district, but talk on the street is that they may be lifting that closed-district restriction.  If that's the case, they were only a couple dozen off from 4A back in the 2019-2020 classification, and with the growth in the county just to the north, a couple of dozen can't be too far away.

I would say Danville is now or in 2 years.  TW has at least 4 years.

Where did 99 on Tri-West come from again?

He moved to TW in 6th grade.  I’m just yanking your chain.  Notice I’m not mentioning any kids by number or name.  Just acknowledge they were nice additions.  Mac Dutra moved from Brownsburg to TW in 2014.  He was a difference maker for sure.  Just ask your HH friends.  We actually lose more kids than we get.  Just remember if you lose to Brebuef on a last second FG, that kicker was at TW until 8th grade.  For those keeping score at home we also lost our best freshman to Brownsburg. And 2 other kids to Chatard.  No judgement here.  Just call it what it is.

Hamilton Heights has never been faced with making this decision. Conference changes were always due to multiple teams leaving. In the case of the Mid-Indiana, 4 of the 8 teams left in the same year because they could not compete. Including your beloved Maconaquah.

If 4 teams decide to leave the Sagamore, it most likely will die. It happened to the Range Line and the Mid-Indiana, possibly others in the State such as the MWC.

Please learn to read.  If Sagamore were to ADD 4 schools.  Which 4 schools make the most sense?
