Danville over Southridge by at least 2 scores. And Danville makes it 3 in a row vs Chatard.

Next addition to Mid-State will be Danville. Mark it down! Only question would be if Tri-West would follow. I doubt we would.

@superjay is Hendershot/Cora back for tomorrow?
Sag line up for tomorrow:
Western @ Lebanon
North Putnam @ Webo
Danville @ Cardinal Ritter
Tri-West @ Greencastle
Do you really think I’m going to answer that?

Chatard hasn’t beat Danville since 2013. 0-2 since.

Glad to see Frankfort having some success. I know they have worked hard to turn things around. Last year during the jr high games, I was impressed that they didn’t stop coaching until the final play. If only Crawfordsville could get back to being competitive.

This would have been a great season to do a small tournament. Take top 12 or 16 in each class and do a tournament. Use Sagarin to seed them and play it out.

Congrats to Frankfort. If they beat C-vile and they will, it will be the first winning season since 2009.

Lebanon should have stayed in quarantine. Completely embarrassed at their own homecoming tonight.
-
Lebanon is currently on some type of quarantine because of positive cases.
-
What is the purpose of wearing a mask in class and sitting 6 feet apart? If everyone in the seating chart around the positive case has to quarantine. I feel bad for the Danville kids.
-
I’m not saying it will happen, but everyone in the conference could lose this week.

Danville and Tri West are both solid programs. I used to be against the 10 team conference and the 9 game all conference round robin schedule.
But Covid has helped change my mind on that front.
Chesterton , a 6A school, this week will play 2 A Pioneer. Yes, Pioneer is a beast and this will probably be the biggest game in the history of their school, but its still 6A vs 2A. Thats not what the IHSAA had in mind when it created the class system.
I think ADs and Admins are thinking more loca;lly and conservatively when it comes to travel in this new era. The certainty of the 9 game round robin takes a lot of potential headaches away from coaches and ADs.
The SAC is a rock solid 10 team conference.
The SIAC just expanded to 10 with the addition of stellar programs Jasper and Vincennes.
I would not be shocked if at some time, Penn and Elkhart will both join the Duneland.
Mt Vernon and New Pal fit the competitive and educational profile of the Mid State.
Covid and its long term negative impact on select programs around the state could push consoliation and/or expansion at the high school level in the near future.
Danville will soon have the enrollment to complete in Mid-State. They will most likely be 4A next realignment. Tri-West would struggle in the MidState. Actually, we need to drop Plainfield and pick up a better matchup.

MARK THIS MOMENT IN HISTORY. MUDA AGREES WITH ME!

Sheridan at Clinton Central has been canceled. Clinton Central going to virtual following a number of positive cases.
I'm hoping that Sheridan can find a replacement for Friday. So Clinton Central plays Frankfort on Friday night, then cancels in-person school/games over the weekend because of Covid. Seems the Frankfort game was played at risk.

Tri-West does not. It was planned for this spring but never started. Who knows?
Field turf At TW has been approved for next spring. But that’s what we were told last year.

Play until you can't. Suspend, restart, play until you can't. Moving to spring is not the answer.

Heard on the radio this morning that 32 non-football playing schools have expressed interest.

The key for Webo will be finding playmakers. They’ll be able to grind it out with Taylor and Oline. But without Hole, Wright, Wethington, Etc., who makes the big plays on offense? Defense will be solid. Must replace starters in secondary.
TW is ready for a breakout season plenty of weapons on offense and most of front seven back on defense. Offensive line depth and secondary are main concerns.
Danville returns entire team but loses a lot in Schubert. He was the guy! Passing game should be solid with QB Payne returning plus Wynn, Wooten, Dostin, and others.
Lebanon will be solid with Harker returning and others.
North Montgomery has several seniors in main roles last year. Should be rebuilding year.
Southmont, Crawfordsville, Frankfort??? Who knows?
This could be a year where champion has one or more losses.

Interim label was dropped at school board tonight. Jason Ward is the head football coach at Tri-West. Also, Tony Hiland returns to Tri-West after 4 years at Danville to be Offensive coordinator. Ward and Hiland were both Assistant coaches on Tri-West State Championships in 2003, 2004, & 2014.
