Affiliation doesn’t necessarily mean they went to school there. I see a player listed at a specific parish than never went to school there. That’s a bit misleading.

To be somewhat clear on this whole thread, I essentially ACCUSED the IHSAA of Gerrymandering in another thread to put all the P&Ps in the same sectional(s) whenever they possibly can. My point was if they didn’t intentionally do this then the Success Factored teams might actually stay “up”. Certainly the case with Chatard/Roncalli.
Having Chatard go North in 4A and Roncalli stay South would arguably be the “non-Gerrymandered” (I am straining the King’s English to a breaking point here) result that would actually result in what most want (likely including Chatard) - Chatard to no longer be in 3A.
My opinion has long been that the IHSAA had less of a problem in football with P&P’s overall than it had a specific problem with Chatard in 3A and Cathedral in any class excepting 6A. Certainly the same could also be said of LCC in 1A.
Well…they solved their Cathedral “problem”…..at least for the time being….even artificially shortening the “bump-up” timetable to do so. They put LCC on a Sectional island…solving that problem.
The Chatard 3A problem only required them to keep Chatard and Roncalli (and probably Chatard/New Pal these days) in separate sectionals. It’s a very easy fix and, frankly, just the opposite of Gerrymandering.
But the IHSAA does so love artificially eliminating P&P’s in Sectionals whenever possible that they continually lose sight of the Success Factor “big picture”.
So, I would argue that the remaining P&P problem is an actual result of the IHSAA’s historic Gerrymandering.
Never really noticed this but it’s true. If Chatard goes to a 4A sectional without Roncalli the likelihood of them winning and staying up would increase. In the end, you never know what the IHSAA will do. I can assure you they are hell bent against seeding the sectionals.

Details, please. What does Crawfordsville possess that Frankfort does not?
More competitive at all levels, better facilities, youth program. And they’ve beat Frankfort 4 of last 5 years.

Crawfordsville yes. Frankfort no.

On 9/24 with a 4-1 victory over Tri-West the Frankfort Boys Soccer teams goes undefeated in Sagamore Conference play and claims the conference championship.
Currently the Hot Dogs are 10-1-1, their only loss was on 9/20 to class 2A #1 ranked West Lafayette and that was a 5-4 slugfest. The Red Devils and Hot Dogs will mostly likely meet each other on 10/5 in the semifinal round of sectional #18, hosted by West Lafayette.
One can see how the precious few OMG! Athletes walking the halls of FHS are distributed amongst the fall extracurricular sports teams.
Move this to the soccer board!

I have heard Deaf will be looking at 8 man in the future. They were at Mooresville 7v7 this summer and their QB was one of the best there in my opinion.

A football only move to Hoosier Heartland would be my suggestion. All other sports are fine. I’m actually anxious to see if McCullough can restore the basketball program to its former glory.

Frankfort is finally to the point of no return. I don’t see this getting turned around anytime soon. Honestly, it’s not fun for anyone on either side. Scores from this week. Jr.High 72-0. JV. 52-0. Varsity 55-6. It’s a difficult conversation to have, but shutting this down needs to be discussed. Another option would be to not have all-in conference schedule. Scheduling might allow them some relief and a chance to gain some momentum. I feel bad for the kids in the program. It’s a tough situation.

I just received an email that Brebeuf is looking for a game next Friday. Did Ritter cancel? What is going on?

- Both TW and Danville lost large productive senior classes, but have guys waiting to step in and produce. WeBo will be solid but must find a QB. Lebanon returns some pieces but loses a stud RB and some big linemen. Seems to be the same story as every year. Can Frankfort, Cville, South or North move into the top group. The answer is most likely no.

Are these the pool play groups? Looks like there are some missing teams.

At one time there was talk of a Sagamore & Hoosier conference partnership. Not sure where it ended, but haven’t heard anything lately. Honestly, it sounded like a good idea. Might have been good for some of the doormats in these 2 conferences. There would be 3 divisions of 6 teams based on enrollment/competitive balance.

Any bets on who wins the Class 3A title next season?
Hearing Chatard, Guerin and Mishawaka Marian are in same sectional. It’s a straight shot up US31.

This all makes no sense. Pioneer has a one time talent in Jack Kiser and hasn’t won state since 2018. Chatard wins state in 2019 & 2020. Neither wins sectional in 2021. Chatard goes down, Pioneer stays up. I know what the rule says about points earned in a higher class. But this just looks wrong. IHSAA should have just reset everything to enrollment and started over.

Tri-West 4 titles in 3 different classes across 3 different decades. 2x runner up. Nice list.

I saw on Facebook where Waldron and Morristown were looking for 8 man football teams to join their K-6 8 man league.

List your Indiana high school players that are at the combine.

Anything to get WeBo back to 2A!

All 3 (Chatard, WeBo, and LCC) should have to stay up. If they don’t then the IHSAA has no balls and the success factor is useless.

West Lafayette should go independent in football only. I’m sure the rest of the conference won’t mind!

Southmonts would own that conference.

I would like to see them make 1A 32 teams and 5A 64 teams. Bye week could really help rosters of less than 40 players. Be fun to shake things up a bit.
