Where's West Lafayette?  I thought Manual looked like 2A from the numbers presented earlier.

I was was going solely by the numbers given at the start of this topic.  Any addition to the north would most likely cause a Danville move to the south and a 2nd northern team would cause Tri-West to move to the South.  TW has only been in north for 91 & 92 seasons.  Went south every other time.  It will be fun to figure it all out when the numbers are released.  One problem is we won’t have a TW guy on the committee like last time.

  2. If those 3A numbers are correct I've got it this way.  Tri-West and Danville would both go north and could potentially be separated (Danville stays south).  Heritage Hills is odd man out and has to go East.  South Bend area splits half to region half to the Fort.

Based on the number of schools with football, I don’t think 5A will have any 5 team sectionals.  They should have 32 schools in 5A with 8 sectionals of 4.

I wish they would make 1A a 32 team class instead of 5A.  Just a thought.  It would shake things up a bit in the middle classes.  And 1A schools with limited rosters could benefit from a week of rest and healing before starting the tournament.  Guessing most 5A rosters have 70-80 kids with no freshmen and most 1A have 30-40 with 8-12 freshmen.  Also the 32 team 1A would be public class only.

  4. Strong showing for the conference.  Webo turn around was a great coaching effort.  Hard to believe the same team we dominated week 4 went on to win state.   How often does a team finish third in conference win a state championship.  Solid effort by Danville, but I felt they were a bit conservative against Chatard.  Probably wouldn’t have mattered.  Tri-West caught the injury bug and COVID quarantines the wrong week.  Would have liked to been full strength both times vs Danville.  Lebanon entire season was disrupted by Corona shutdown.  And they never recovered.  The rest of the conference needs to get it together.  Frankfort is improving.  South and North are there typical selves.  And Crawfordsville needs to figure something out.  They are getting worse if that is possible.

I mostly stick to my local teams threads. Seems like much discussion has taken place about those other schools so looks like I have some threads to read! lol 😂 To be fair to Luers though, they aren’t like the Indy area p/p’s that cycle in great classes year in years out, they really have struggled to get the kids they have and keep them. They aren’t as well off as some may think.

That is not your typical Luers team.  Good athletes not the great ones they were known for in the past.

I think there is an argument for proximity to students, but it's more of a problem for 1A and 2A programs in extremely rural areas.  Luers, Mater Dei, and Lutheran all benefit from being able to get way more students than say Prairie Heights or North White because of their location in highly populated metro areas.

HOWEVER, this is about Danville and Chatard.  Of course the Tri-West guy is trying to deter the conversation because he doesn't want to see either of these teams in his sectional or regional next year because Danville or Chatard have eliminated the Bruins from the playoffs the last 5 years...

Tri-West guy wishes both teams could lose.  But since that can’t happen, I’ll take a Warrior win over Chatard.

  7. Chatard is just lucky that Casey Woods moved on.  It would for sure be 3 in a row if he was still the coach.  Comer is on quite a run of his own.  2 straight with WeBo and now back again with a different team.  Danville roster is stocked with kids from Avon and Plainfield.  They aren’t a bit rattled by Chatard and they really don’t care about the past.   Danville 30 Chatard 21.  Then they both move on to 4A!
