I get it, think it would be split 3 ways, but this is the SAC where nothing makes sense sometimes. Just another issue in a long list of issues with the SAC/FWCS administrators over a myriad of stuff Everyone would much rather have postseason success than regular season glory. I am sure nobody is losing sleep over this

Not sour grapes, just telling the truth. Who is picking Luers to beat Carroll or Snider? There isn’t a coach in the SAC that wouldn’t rather play Luers over Carroll and Snider. Personally, I could care less about the the regular season as opposed to the postseason, but anyone that says Luers is the best SAC football team this years is delusional

My take on Calpreps or Sagarin is this, they suck. Think they both had HSE as 21+ point favorites vs Carroll in semi-state last year, how did that work out? Warren Central was a massive favorite vs. Snider according to both, Snider stomped a mud hole on Warren on the road. I put zero significance in Calpreos or Sagarin

If the good Homestead shows up, Sparty wins by 30+ points. If the bad Homestead shows up, Sparty wins by 14 points

Agree with most of what you said, I would say EC is not head and shoulders better than Snider this year, regardless of the hype. Same with last year. EC in 5A would represent the South in 5A both years, but they are not hands down better than the teams they would play from the North

Very well said!!! Kind of ridiculous some of the pointless arguments being made by some here. I would put all of 5A against all of 4A and 3A and would like my chances. Additionally, the top of 5A is better than 3A or 4A year in year out

Fundamentally, I can agree with most of what you say, but to say 3A and 4A is better than 5A is just not accurate. The 3 team sectional in 5A resulted in an error on the IHSAA’S part that wasn’t fixed until the regular season started which was Dwenger moving to 4A, leaving the 3 team sectional in 5A. I am totally onboard with how incompetent the minions that run the IHSSA are and how they let this happen. I believe, as others have stated, that 6A and 1A should be 32 teams and the rest 64 teams. 1A football is great and I appreciate the huge difference between a 1A school having 30 kids on a team and a 6A team having 80+ kids on the roster. It’s like comparing NAIA football to D1 football Good post sir!!!

Look, you can only beat who is on your schedule, but to not play the best 2 teams in the conference is silly. Even if they beat Sparty, nobody should consider them the SAC champion. Luers may go on and win a state title this year, and I hope they do, but they aren’t even close to being the best team in the SAC

Let’s be honest, had they played Carroll or Snider, they wouldn’t be undefeated or even in consideration for a title. Truthfully, they would lose to both by 28+ points Carroll 56 - North Side 27 - Chargers can name the score against North though the Legends will score some points South Side 27 - Northrop 14 - Archers get a much needed win while the Bruins slip further into the abyss Snider 42 - Wayne 14 - Panthers too much for the Generals

Seeing Brownsburg and Ben Davis playing in the first round while Arsenal and Pike play each to get to be the sacrificial lamb in the sectional title game is ludicrous. BTF already pointed out the 4A situation in the Fort Wayne area. If this was the thought process in running a day to day business, you would be bankrupt and closing your doors. Why we keep spinning a wheel to do this makes no sense

Most likely, Snider will be playing at Mishawaka as their first 2 games should be at home. That Cavemen offense is not easy to defend and that would be a big challenge for the Panthers to win at Mishawaka

Sectional time, Snider’s gets a bad Anderson team and then would play North Side. After that, likely Mishawaka in Regionals and then either Valparaiso or Merrillville in Semi-State. Pretty straight path to state, think regionals could be challenging as Mishawaka is not easy to defend and then semi-state would be a battle for sure. Thoughts?
