I am looking forward to the Valparaiso vs. Crown Point game Friday night. Could be a precursor to the playoffs…

Temp’s Top 25 (Week 5)

Now now, speed is overrated according to some round here… -
Bloomington South looks good so far in the South, looks like Plainfield has been playing well, after that it could be anyone. With BTF on Snider, it is just too early to guarantee Snider will be representing the North. Valpo played smash mouth with Snider last year and until the Panthers beat them, the road goes thru Valpo in my opinion. Intrigued with Crown Point as well. If Mishawaka can actually throw the ball, they could be scary. Also, some will laugh, but North Side vs. Snider in a sectional game will be flat out war and nastiness

Wow! One of the sillier arguments you have put forth yet. Speed on indoor turf kills, been proven over and over again. Go watch any of the Bishop Luers games when they get to state and tell me again how speed doesn’t matter. Go watch the Concordia state title game a few years ago and tell me that speed doesn’t matter. Heck, go watch the state title game when Snider played I believe Lawrence Central, or maybe North, can’t remember, and speed on the turf killed Snider. Watch any of the Penn games against Indy schools and tell me speed didn’t matter.

What makes you the “absolute expert” on all things Indiana High School Football? Your opinion is all knowing and nobody else knows anything? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and doesn’t have to agree with yours. Unless you are a person who was sent back in time and already knows the result of what is going to happen, your statements are no more valid than mine. If memory serves me correctly, you were part of the all knowing community who threw their support on how nobody had a chance to beat New Palestine in 2015, maybe it was 2016, against Snider. History shows that 99% of you were wrong… Just sayin…

East Central is great apparently, but you can’t teach or catch speed. EC hasn’t seen anyone like New Haven with 6A talent and speed to burn. First, I am not convinced New Haven will get to state, they will be playing shootouts the further they go in the playoffs and those can go either way. Second, ask other teams about speed. Perfect example, Snider played New Palestine in 2016 and literally everyone anointed New Pal as state champions long before the tournament began. Then they played Snider and found out what real speed was and lost 64-61 in an all-time great game. You get that kind of speed indoors and it is literally a different game than what is played outdoors in inclement, cold weather

Carroll on the downside after this year? You do realize their QB is back next year, right? 3 year starter at that point, D1 talent. Their feeder schools have a constant flow of talent. Very doubtful Snider had 1 down year out of how many, 15? Dwenger, even with Sullivan, would not be a contender. That talent pool is thin right now and has been for a few years The Spartan QB and offense that was shutout by Noblesville 42-0, that gave Dwenger fits? Uh, ok….Let’s see what the Spartans do against Snider and Carroll before telling me they are dangerous
-
We shall see, I believe Carroll and Snider have pretty distinct advantages that will enable them to stay ahead of the pack
-
Saying it now, the gap in the SAC after Snider and Carroll will continue to widen over the next several years. It is pretty big now, it will only get bigger. People need to quit holding out hope that Dwenger, Luers, North Side, or Homestead will put themselves back in the picture soon.

The interception at the end of the half was a killer for Carroll. He was literally throwing a 40 yard out pattern that hung in the air forever making it an easy interception and it left no fast players back to try and stop the return for a TD that was backbreaking. He isn’t playing South Side or Concordia, he is playing a team that has just as much talent and speed as Carroll has. Got to know better. From here, I will be rooting Carroll on as the kid has a ton of talent and he is capable of leading his team to a state title game. Best of luck!!!
-
Wrong, Dwenger would not be favored against Leo, New Haven, or East Noble. Matter of fact, Dwenger would lose by double digits against any of those 3 teams this year
-
You might be right though you could be referring to another purple school, Leo
-
The kiss of death right here for Panther fans. These are teenage kids and you never know what can happen on a Friday/Saturday night. Yes, they are very good this year, but they were the best 5A team last year and lost to Valpo
-
New Haven has some absolute freakish athletes and if they get to Lucas Oil on the turf, forget about it cuz it’s a wrap. Having said that, not sure their defense is going to hold up on the way to Lucas Oil. The defense is OK at best and they will be in some shootouts that can go either way
-
Yes he is good, but he tried to do too much last night. D1 recruits are always really good
-
Well, let’s not pile on about how great their QB is when he has thrown 4 pick 6’s on the year. That is alot!!! You can’t always blame that on the QB, but his 2 picks tonight are on him for sure and it cost his team the game. Yes, their defense is good, but Buchanan ran for 6 yards a pop and they gave up a 60 yard TD run as well. I agree, Carroll has a shot to get to state, but I could also see them losing in regionals as well
-
To be fair, the Saints got hammered by Carroll and will get hammered by Snider in a couple weeks so I am not on the Saints bandwagon. Leo and East Noble are better than Dwenger this year
-
Not sure, Homestead has been all over the place, losing 42-0 to Noblesville and playing Carmel to the wire 14-7. They got hammered by Carroll and they play Snider next week so we shall see. Make no mistake, Dwenger is a mess right now and the natives are very restless…

Wow
-
Very tight win for the Panthers in a game they were very fortunate to win. 2 pick 6’s for Snider was the difference, without those, they lose this game. Coming out of this game, QB play the remainder of the season will determine whether this is a special season for Snider. Buchanan is the real deal, need to be able to throw the ball at times and that wasn’t there tonight.

Snider 27 - Carroll 24 final Leo 14 - East Noble 7 final
-
Snider 27 - Carroll 24, 5 minutes to go
-

Snider 24 - Carroll 14 at halftime, Brandon Logan with his 2nd pick 6 of the half on the final play of the half goes 80 yards for the TD What is going on here?
-
Carroll 14 - Snider 10, early 2nd quarter
