  1. Game vs Dwenger was never in doubt, Snider was very sloppy and the Saints just don’t have the talent this year to beat the Panthers. Dwenger losing QB Campbell earlier this year really hurt them.
  2. Snider 14 - Dwenger 0, Panthers block a 46 yard field goal attempt and take it to the house
  3. Officials have had a really bad half
  4. Snider 7 - Dwenger 0 at halftime. Very ugly game so far, officials are having a tough game as well. They blew a clear fumble, called penalties 3 penalties and didn’t mark yardage off, 2 holdings and 1 face mask, and done a really poor job of spotting the ball. Just an ugly game all around for everyone…
  5. Snider 7 - Dwenger 0, 4 minutes to go 2nd quarter
  6. Snider and Dwenger tied at zero after 1st quarter
  7. Norwell - They are legit. Whomever plays them come tourney time better be ready Snider/North Side - I believe whomever comes out of this sectional has a really good shot at playing for a state title Luers - Don’t look at their record now, watch out for them in the tourney Dwenger - Has the talent pool dried up for the Saints? They play hard, but I haven’t seen great talent recently
  8. Carroll 56 - Concordia 6 - The talent gap in this game is huge, much like the final score will be Luers 42 - South Side 13 - Sometimes, South keeps it close for a quarter against their very close neighbors, it won’t be longer than that North Side 49 - Northrop 14 - Another game where the outcome is not in doubt Homestead 35 - Wayne 21 - Closer than it should be as I watched Snider play Wayne a couple weeks ago and it was not competitive at all. Sparty gets it done in the end Snider 38 - Dwenger 21 - This is a big time rivalry and while I think the Panthers are much better than the Saints this year, very rarely is there a blowout in this series. Panthers pull away in the 4th quarter
  9. Snider’s sectional is a meat grinder. If Snider gets out of the sectional, I like their chances to go to State, if North Side beats Snider, I would like their chances as well.
  10. Carroll 42 - Homestead 21 - Chargers are too much for Sparty. They are just better in every facet Dwenger 21 - Luers 20 - Best game of the week. Could go either way North Side 56 - South Side 12 - Final score is closer than the actual game Wayne 35 - Concordia 21 - Generals too fast for the Cadets Snider 49 - Northrop 14 - Panthers maul the Bruins again
  11. Snider 42 - Wayne 7, blowout city, first Panther game in person this year, 2 kick returns for a touchdown, total domination on the lines
  12. Dwenger 42 - Concordia 13 - Really thought the Cadets would be more competitive, but the gap between Carroll, Snider, Homestead, and Dwenger is really big from the rest of the SAC Luers 35 - Northrop 17 - Bruins hang around for awhile, Knights pull away in the 4th quarter North Side 28 - Homestead 27 - Most competitive game of the week, North keeps impressing me. Sparty got their asses handed to them by Snider last week, let’s see what they are made of this week Carroll 56 - South Side 12 - Another reason for the SAC to stop with just conference play. Next year, Carroll can play with the big boys in 6A Snider 38 - Wayne 15 - Panthers roll, nuff said
  13. Boy, the Panther offense was clicking tonight against Homestead. This version of the Panthers is a serious contender for a state title. Having said that, the sectional is brutal with Dwenger and a very good North Side team awaiting them.
  14. Umm, just so you know, playing Snider, Homestead, Carroll, and Dwenger, year in and year out, and all 5A and 6A schools, is harder than what I have seen Andrean play on a consistent basis. Yes, Andrean plays good team, but just not the meat grinder of a schedule that Luers plays
  15. Norwell will give Chatard all they can handle should they meet in Regionals. The defense is very stout and I think they may beat East Noble and Columbia City, who are both good 4A schools.
  16. Any conversation about 2A state title talk has to start with Luers, regardless of their record. Nobody in 2A plays the schedule they play year in and year out and almost nobody in 2A has the athletes they have. Now, they don’t win the state title every year, but for anyone to dismiss them based on their regular season record is just not paying attention. Carry on…
  17. Carroll 35 -Dwenger 17 - Chargers are for real, really like their offense. Saints had a nice win over Homestead last week, but they will need a lot more than 14 points to hang with Carroll North Side 28 - Luers 20 - North has more numbers than the Knights and I think they will wear them down by the 4th quarter. Luers will be dangerous come playoff time though Northrop 27 - Concordia 20 - Tossup game from what I see. I expected more from the Cadets and have seen nothing from them so far while I already had low expectations for the Bruins. Coin flip says the Bruins Wayne 42 - South Side 12 - Biggest blowout of the week. Final score is whatever Wayne’s coaches want it to be Snider 35 - Homestead 24 - I think the Panthers roll in this one, just a more balanced team than Sparty. Final score will be closer than how the game is played Probably the most competitive week of the season in the SAC
  18. Can’t wait until the days Snider starts playing those 2 out of conference games where they are challenged and stops wasting time playing overmatched teams, like South Side, Concordia, Northrop, and Wayne. These games do nothing for them. Dwenger, Homestead, Carroll, and Luers are in the same boat as Snider.
  19. Snider 35-0 over South Side, beginning of 3rd quarter
  20. Snider 14-0, South goes 3 and out and the Panthers block the punt and get the ball at the 15 yard line, 2 plays later Haupert throws his second TD pass of the game
  21. Snider 7 - South Side 0, Panthers drive the field in 2 minutes, 10 minutes to go in the first quarter
  22. Carroll vs Northrop - The same old question heard round the Summit City, why is there more talent in Northrop’s hallways than on the football field? Carroll 49-14 Luers vs Concordia - Not that the Cadets showed me any reason against Snider, but I like them to keep this one closer than expected. Luers 31-21 Wayne vs North Side - The gauntlet is over for North (Dwenger, Snider, Carroll) to open the season, maybe a little letdown this week. North Side 42-21 Dwenger vs Homestead - On paper, the most competitive game of the week, I get the feeling that Sparty may run away with this one. Homestead 38-20 Snider vs South Side - The final score will be whatever the Panthers coaches want it to be. Soapbox here, this game is the exact reason why I am glad that starting next year, SAC teams start playing 2 out of conference games to start the year. I honestly can’t remember the last time Snider lost to South Side, maybe the 1970’s. Snider 49-0
  23. Wanted to know what others think of the QB play so far. It is not often you have a QB that is a varsity starter for 3 years and those are years that you really have to take advantage of a 3 year starter. I think playing 2 really good teams so far has hindered his numbers and the line pass protection has not been good, but I was thinking we would see more out of that position so far. Any thoughts?
  24. I wouldn’t disagree with your assessment as other posters are saying there is a near mutiny at Wayne right now between player, coaches, and parents.
  25. I appreciate your candor sir!!! Here is what I will say about Luers, always been a fan of them and root for them come playoff time. I think this is one of their least talented teams in awhile and, quite frankly, they don’t have the players in quality and quantity to deal with those 5A and 6A teams this year. That doesn’t mean they can’t make a run come playoff time
