Fairfield at Adams- Adams gets a win that will be hard to come by this year 27-20.
Glenn at Riley -Not sure why.
Marian at Culver Academy- Marian is in for a long regular season.
New Prairie at Goshen- NP 35-7. New Prairie wont be challenged until October.
Northridge at Elkhart,- Elkhart was the only thing that stopped Elkhart last week and they kept themselves from putting up 50. I expect a big improvement in eliminating mental mistakes on offense from week 1 to week 2. 40-10 Lions
Penn at Portage- I think Penn is wildly overrated at #9 in 6a, but they roll against one of 6a's perennial worst teams 27-7. Next 3 weeks get real tough for the Kingsmen.
Clay at Twin Lakes- Twin Lakes? Wasn't aware that is a high school.
St. Joseph at Mishawaka- Cavemen are elite on offense and not great on defense. While I think St Joe is much improved that wont help them this week. 35-7 Cavemen.
Washington at Bremen- Guess is Bremen 14-0
Twin Lakes is next to beautiful Lake Schafer in Monticello, Indiana. Proving once again, there is more than 🌽 in Indiana.

This is going to be a fun year for the HNAC. As an outsider, I am definitely intrigued by the depth this league has this year.

I will revise my previous no to maybe as Andrean star qb broke his collarbone Friday vs Merrillville and Laville might just be able to backup the hype.
Collarbone break shouldn’t put you out for a whole season. 6-8 weeks and back by sectionals.

LaVille is better than that score, Bremen is worse. Lions are lucky they have Clay on the schedule, because that’s the only W.
-
That is why we play the games. Wheeler was given no shot agains Andrean in 2011. They pulled it off. If anyone can do it, I like this LaVille teams shot. All 11 starters back on defense, makes this Lancer team tough to score on.

Still not happening….Laville put up 200? Points last season to Andreans 400. Laville wasn’t beating Hobart then or now, nor putting up 21 against Merriville. Andrean will prove to be too much if Laville ends up seeing them.
Never said it would happen. They have high expecttions.

This LV team is primed to make a run. Great athletes that have a wealth of experience and one of the best coaches in Northern Indiana. The stars are aligning for LV this year. I expect in to be a special season south of Lakeville.

Leave it. If you start a week earlier, you are stealing a week of summer, that is already short. If you go a week longer, you lose the state games on Thanksgiving weekend, and also would require pushing the basketball season back another week. It is just my opinion, I could be swayed.

I've lurked for a while as a Goshen fan - don't usually have anything useful to contribute so I keep quiet. 🙂 I may have more to say now that we're in the Wogomon Era - at least I hope so!
How’d the scrimmage go?

Does Laville REALLY have a chance against Andrean?
If they stay healthy.

This Bremen team only has a few pieces. Lot of guys getting their first look at varsity. I’m saying 54-6 LV. My Lions may only win 1 or 2 games.

I think Bremen and Jimtown have a jamboree with Goshen and Fairfield.
Scratch what I said earlier. No jamboree this year. Bremen will scrimmage tonight at Goshen.

http://sagarin.com/sports/hsfsend.htm This looks like last year. He must have a bad link to the conference ranks, because the class ranks are accurate for 2021.

John Harrell Saharan rankings for Hoosier North conference can’t be correct? Looks like from a couple years ago?
That’s because it is. You can’t have safari ratings without any games played.

Ok, just check MaxPreps again for Bremen. They updated on the roster on July 26th and have 45 players listed with 10 seniors.

Outside of the Indy Metro madness, high school football is really a local game. The vast majority of schools in this state will never get past the sectional round. So winning at the local level, whether it be a conference championship, a county championship, or just winning a rivalry game, are the primary goals for many programs around the state.
We have a handful of contenders in each class. After that, everybody is playing to be the best in their own backyard.
What do you mean a vast majority will never win a sectional? A vast majority of teams have won sectionals.

How accurate on the rosters from Max Preps? I take it as a grain of salt.
Never know who is there until next week
I agree. That’s all the info I go though so far.

Just feel that that many seniors in a small school program you should be successful unless they haven't seen the field in younger days. Just my 2 cents
I don’t know how many played last year. I don’t recognize the names of 5 or 6 seniors.

Wow 13 seniors!!
????
Not good, because you lose that many and aren’t replenishing them in the lower grades.

What are numbers looking across the board? Not phantom players. But, ones consistently showing up this summer.
Max preps roster for Bremen lists 37 with 13 seniors. Numbers continue to be an issue in the Mint City.

I started posting/reading around 2001 as a freshman in college. I’ve lost/forgot passwords a few of my early accounts. Now I’m 41 and starting to dream of retirement.

Bremen does it. Argos had them a few years ago.

Like a lot of pre season polls, it’s heavily weighted on last years results.
