The most nervous I have been in the last 16 years when CE turned football around. East opened up with a gauntlet schedule the first 3 games. Lost to Whiteland by a touchdown with 11 seconds left, beat Columbus North, and then was beaten handily by a very very good Elkhart team. If Floyd has gotten better on the lines then they will give East all they want. That is what has given them trouble over the years, but they have some very very good skill players.

New Pal lost its 65 game regular season win streak earlier this year. The only other major win streak will be challenged tonight. Columbus East will put its 92 conference win streak @ Floyd Central tonight. CE’s last conference lost was to Bedford in 2006. If you factor in the playoffs Columbus East has won 103 games against conference opponents.

@Fkfootball Good Luck to your community tonight. It’s been 15 years since East hasn’t been favored in a conference game. The streak could end tonight.. it would be the 2nd major streak to end this year if East does lose. New Pal lost its 65 game regular season win streak 2 weeks ago.

I found a streaming site that did the Jeff and FC game and it looks like they will be doing this weeks game too. I’m about to fall asleep. I’ll send you the link tomorrow.

Parks is the key to the offense.. QB can get up and go. I think the game will be a pretty good game honestly. The offense is basically set up just like the Markell and Cowan duo. 3 headed rushing monster, McDonald and Parks doing most of the damage. They do so many fake exchanges, you have to guess which one is taking off with the ball. I think Floyd will be fine. I wish fans could be there, the Floyd students deserve to celebrate with the players if they end up stopping the streak.

Columbus East - 48 New Albany - 14 Final East is now averaging 387.6 rushing yards a game (2nd highest during the Gaddis era). Offensive line has been a monster this year.

Starting to not feel so bad about East getting beat by 24 by Elkhart. That team is extremely good and 1800 more students than East. I hope Elkhart runs the tables and makes a deep run in the playoffs.

Agreed.. I also didn’t know how good the East O-Line has been this year. Even with the tough schedule before last nights game East averaged 6.2 yards a carry on the season. I’m guessing it went up after last night .

I look at NA about the same as I do Jeff. It was a 12-7 game last week at half when they played each other. NA ended up beating them 26-7 but it was a struggle for 3 quarters.. and Elder would make a lot of teams look bad lol; they are a great football team.

I like his demeanor that’s what you want to see... as for the SOS (granted Elder isn’t factored into the SOS because they are out of state) Floyd had played like the 212th best SOS in the state after 3 weeks (add in Elder and it’s probably around the 140th SOS) NA had played the 98th ranked SOS. That might have been the only reason they had them ranked higher.. it obviously meant nothing because anybody that had watched NA knew they couldn’t stop a 2A squad (that happened to get beat by 30 tonight by another 2A squad) and that Floyd was a much better team coming in.

Columbus East - 443 yards total offense Jeffersonville - 91 yards total offense Clean the penalties up and that was a complete game. East has got to feel a little rested after playing a top 25 schedule the opening 3 weeks.

Columbus East - 42 Jeff - 0 58 seconds 3rd Q. Jeff has really struggled with doing anything offensively when penalties haven’t benefited them. I believe they have 84 yards total offense at the end of 3.

I don’t think many expected this to be a game. New Albany hasn’t been able to stop anyone this year with the D they have. They almost lost to a 2A school a few weeks ago. I think they gave up 45+ to them lol.

Before @Fogertyputmein rips my head off lol, the East defense outside of penalties has been good. Defensive penalties killed East in field position some tonight. Jeff is 5-12 for 24 yards in the air, 20 carries for 54 yards. 78 total yards. Columbus East is 1-3 for 7 yards in the air, 25 carries for 348 yards. 355 total yards. Don’t expect East to score much more this game, a lot of new faces will get some playing time.
