Good Half by East... This Whiteland team is massive.. average 285.3 lbs on the line...East has really impressed me, especially the defense.

Whiteland 3 and out East solid drive but penalty nulifies a TD and then field goal 3-0 East 7:14
Listening to it on the radio. Didn't realize East returned 8 on defense.

Bloomington South (I would be surprised if NA wins more than 4-5 games all year)
Bell County (because it’s Jeff)
South Dearborn (I really have no clue)
Male (It will be Floyd’s toughest task they face all year)
Martinsville (Again, I have zero clue on this one)
Seymour (even with the Stud player hurt, I think they will win this game)
Whiteland (This will be East’s best team they face in the regular season as Whiteland is preseason #6)
Good Luck all.

Cathedral by a whole lot.

Seymour's Jaylon Johnson broke his fibula during the scrimmage against silver creek so that will definitely hurt the owls hes a very good player on both sides of the ball.
That’s terrible to hear, he is an outstanding player. Hopefully he heals up quickly and is back up to full speed soon!

Updated my list after the scrimmages and info I have heard about East.
1. Columbus East (was told they will be solid this year, and looked good in the scrimmage… Chase Harrison is an absolute monster)
2. Seymour (They return a lot like East, from a solid campaign last year)
3. Floyd (always has the athletes, injury bug seems to bite them some each year)

My take for this year will be :
1. Columbus East
2. Seymour
3. Floyd
Would not surprise me if Seymour won the conference tho, they return a lot from a good team last year.

My 5A top 10 contenders:
1. Decatur Central
2. Merrillville
3. Snider
4. Dwenger
5. Harrison
6. Whiteland
7. Bloomington South
8. Valpo
9. Michigan City
10. New Albany
New Albany will be lucky to win 4 games this year.. I would venture to say Columbus East will be in the top 10 with what they return after a down year.

Started thinking of the best overall all around football programs in the state AT THIS TIME. This can obviously be opinionated for some and doesn’t always have to reflect state championships. I tried to think of the best run programs regardless of class. I also kept private schools off of this this because I consider those programs to be run very differently (youth leagues, middle schools, etc.) Top 10 in my opinion:
Center Grove
Carmel
Westfield
New Pal
Gibson Southern
West Lafayette
HSE
Ben Davis
Valpo
Decatur Central
Honorable mentions- Brownsburg, Zionsville, Mt. Vernon, East Central, Lawrenceburg
A list that doesn’t have Columbus East on it is already obsolete. Only Public school to bump up 2 classes due to the success factor and won a state title in 2 classes.

Total bummer. I was really looking forward to going to East.
The last time I was there was at a track Invitational in HS….just after the glaciers receded.
I'm just glad we had such a strong showing last year against Chatard... 🥴

They got this one right! Congrats to a fine young man... Kid put on a show this year.

Looking at the history of the award, it almost seems like a death sentence. I wouldn't want it if I were you, unless you want to end up selling at Dewig Meats in Haubstadt? Lord knows how they treat out of towners down there. #97
Can’t be any worse than working at a Waffle House right?

Last 20 years........ 1 regional title, 1 semistate title. Other than those 2 years..... no sectional titles. I guess they fail a lot.
That was my point. It made me laugh haha

Whiting 5 wins come from opponents that have a total of 4 wins. (Boone grove twice) We have high standards in whiting. Anything less then sectional title is considered failing.
Damn, didn’t know Whiting has had so much success. That’s impressive.
