These types of awards always amuse me.  Of course I’m going to come across too many of you as a “hater”, but come on.

Other than Mt. Vernon, these coaches all did was was expected of them coming into the season.

Gimme Mason at Eastside in 2A.  What that team did was phenomenal.

I agree. I would even say 3A Gibson Southern finally got over the proverbial “hump”

Must have been real tough choosing the coaches of the year this year 😂

    I have your answer

Brady played 40 of 60 possible quarters apparently.

Assuming he played 60 quarters at the same pace his stats would have been around

    6,375 passing yards

    87 passing TDs

Glad he didn’t though.  No sense in running up the score.  Up by 35? Put the backups in and Run out the clock.

It’s no different than the the year Markell Jones at East won it.. I believe he only played 2 games past halftime and 2 games he only played 1 quarter… 4 carries 147 yards and 4 TD’s against a Seymour team in the 1st quarter. Didn’t play another snap.

I also think Allen should win it

    Imo

    Tier 1: Columbus East

    Tier 2: Memorial/Mater Dei/Heritage Hills/Reitz

    Tier 3: Gibson Southern/Southridge/Linton

I’m probably forgetting someone so don’t think I’m trying to disrespect anyone lol. Just the teams that come to my mind and where I have them stacked

I wouldn’t even be mad if you put Memorial up there with Columbus East in Tier 1, they have had an outstanding run. I would say you are about spot on with this. GS will move up if they can put together another title run or semi state run in the coming years. A ton of well ran programs in Southern Indiana.

Outside of state I can’t say I have seen much of curry outside of what film there is out there and I just watch that cuz I’ve been following him like the rest of everybody for a few years.  He is deserving of the award….but we know where my thoughts on that are.

as for the SoS.  Calpreps certainly doesn’t lend favors for the argument I have made but maxpreps and Sagarin do.

going off of calpreps though…Columbus East….a few other notable schools with similar or less SoS…if GS was in 5A with the same schedule nobody would be saying a thing.  This whole SoS thing against GS is kinda BS.  I’ve laid out time and time again on here how it wasn’t a bad SoS….the responses have indicated they don’t care…still 3A…despite beating Brebeuf too. Just a lack of credit to the opponents GS has faced is all.

Leave CE out of this, WE SUCKED this year 😂😂😂😂😂

Thank you...  I thought this was directed at our "crew"...  Obviously @Majorwho proclaims to be a both a Coach and and Unbiased Official is a total poser.  Perhaps he could DM and reveal his identity....though I already know it!   😂

C.S.   No need to say the entire thing  (Mr. Winning Sales)  Is that enough for you?

Don’t do it. I can 100% let you know, if you reveal someone’s identity you do in fact get a 30 day ban 😂. I had to make an extra account off a different IP Address during that time lol

Talking about New Pal or the South Favorite?

New Pal… from what the IHSAA has said, they will make a decision on enrollment and how the success factor will be dealt with at a later date this year. Cathedral to 6A isn’t a lock either. Cathedral very well could be back in 5A next year.

Oh gosh, that would be a meat grinder on steroids

First impressions for 2022 4A South:

It seems like East Central, Mooresville, Roncalli and Mt Vernon are the probably favorites in the south. Although, I heard MTV and EC lose a ton to graduation. Then Memorial, Chatard, and Jasper as dark horses. No Idea where to put New Pal, since my knowledge is low on them

New Pal will be very good next year. If they are in 4A they will be a top 2 team.

Cathedral should always be 6A period.

Interesting take… Nobody seemed to care when they weren’t winning titles, but when they start winning them again…here we are.

Cathedral short FG, now up 17-7. 8:52 on the clock.

Good battle by your boys today. Nothing to hang their heads about.. back to back making it to the state championship is damn near impossible to do.

The line judge was not in the correct position to see it well. Mechanical error. Since he didn’t see it well, he correctly applied the “when in doubt” and ruled it an incomplete pass.

Either way, it’s wrong by the LJ, whether it’s he was wrong on the call or wasn’t in the right position.

Brebeuf looking like they have all year.

    Couldn’t agree more.

Who are the teams who are in the bottom half of their class in terms of enrollment, are public, have a free and reduced lunch percentage over the state average (roughly 50 percent), have a schedule strength in the top half of the state and have a winning record annually?

    There’s your answer.

Columbus East 🙂. Bottom half of 5A in enrollment, I believe actually one of the smallest, fringe 4A enrollment, public, not sure about reduced or free lunch. We were turrrrrrrrrrrrrible this year tho 😂

Truth hurt? I mean you felt it was name calling with the comment "Word to jack-o-lantern world" hope you grow some thicker skin. Heaven forbid @Olympian06brings the pain. You might need a therapist!

I’ve hurt a lot of feelings on this site, took a few suspensions, won a few bets for GID donations. Don’t think Bash and I have had a spat yet lol. I’ve been on my best behavior lately 😂

That's what I thought, but I was told he had a son in high school. The player was a freshman.  So 13/14 years old.

I saw some video of his son at 8 but this video didn't really have a date. One was 2018.

That is why I was putting the question out there. Figured a Zionsville fan could answer my question. Not a Columbus East fan.

haha I was just messing with you..

Appears to be a great run by New Albany! Cathedral is a different type of team. I believe they go up to 6A for next 2 years and with their success might stay there for a long while. How does New Albany's roster look? Do they have the rooster coming back to make another run at it next year? Any updates in the conference that make us think another HHC team could be in that position in 2022?

New Albany will graduate a ton this year.. CE and Seymour will probably be your two best teams in the HHC with Floyd in the mix. East vastly improved as the year went on and returns a ton of kids that played this year.

As for next year, We will have to wait and see how the sectionals line up, because I believe New Pal goes back to 4A. East could win a sectional next year depending on what the sectionals look like.

Cathedral has already been to 6A once, and were brought back down to 5A after their 2 years in it… Again, it will depend on what sectional they get put into.

Any discussion of the best programs in Southern Indiana has to include Memorial.  What Coach Hurley has accomplished in his tenure is unbelievable, esp when you take into account the Tiger's success regardless of playing 2A, 3A, or 4A.  Truly impressive.  Starting with the Rupp teams in 2008/09 to Lindauer/Combs teams of recent years, the Tigers have arguably been on one of the best runs of any high school team from the Evansville area.. EVER.  No mythical unicorns in the Tiger pedigree, just hardware.

I agree, I put them up their with Columbus East.. with East and Cathedral being the only 2 schools to bump up 2 classes due to the success factor. Memorial has been right up there with them.

I think Columbus East probably has all they need to claim they are the best program south of indy

Rough year for us this year, but the boys got better as the season went on.. Look forward to next season with a ton of starters returning. Columbus East has been very fortunate to have kids buy into the program. A ton of good programs south of Indianapolis.

That’s a bunch of high school kids — some of whom just played the last football game they’ll ever play — that you’re referring to as “trash.” It costs nothing to be a gracious winner. Try it sometime.

I promise they will be okay.. it’s a cold world..

I was more referring to the fan base, ex : Cody Parkhurst and a few other tools in that area.
