It's widely accepted that Notre Dame falls somewhere between 1-6. Unless of course you're Paul Finebaum, the governor of Alabama, 90% of SEC country and a few posters on this board whose only aim is to troll this site and antagonize. This really isn't even about the fact that Notre Dame could have won the title this year and now the champion will have an * next to their name. It's about the deception conveyed by the committee leading up to the final day. The CFPS is a "farse and a waste of time" until the final week.

Because the CFPS led them on the entire way, then pulled the rug out from underneath them. The players know they are good enough to win the national title, anything less than a playoff appearance is a slap in the face, plain and simple. Kudos to Notre Dame to extending their middle finger to the process. I enjoy listening to College Sports on SiriusXM. Had no idea so many people around the country agree with me that Notre Dame was a serious threat to win the whole thing. Look, the SEC is desperate right now. They've lost two years in a row. There's only three teams that could beat Notre Dame right now. BYU isn't one of them.

This is Notre Dame, not IU. Those kids don't want to play BYU. They want Georgia. The kids are hurting right now just as much as the administration. There's no interest other than matching up with the country's best.
