That was not the case I was arguing. I get the larger point you are making and would agree. I was actually sad that Book decided to come back. He was the weakest link this season. BUT, to say that ND was not deserving of their place in the playoff or BCS is silly. Your point that I originally responded to was that ND was beaten by Clemson by so many points, it proved they did not belong. I just pointed out the irony in that statement because they won the next game by a wider spread. In fact, they jumped out early on Bama; something they did NOT do against ND. Thanks for correcting the year. I agree that there were a couple teams in the SEC that could have likely beaten ND as well. But as I stated, Bama won the right to not have to play any of them a second time.

As far as the 2010 season goes, I said it then and still feel the Bama team that year would have beaten any team that bad with a month to prepare., including Georgia. Yes, I know that Georgia played them well in the SEC title game. Should someone else have made it besides Georgia? The argument against Georgia, is that Bama WON the right to not face them again. Bama was by far the best team that year. It would not have been fitting to setup the scenario where Bama would have to beat Georgia two times in the post season to win a title, especially being ranked number 1 most of that year; while Georgia could have just split with Bama to win a championship.

😀 So when the point differential against a common opponent in the same tournament does not suit your point of view, reach for something else? hmmmmm 🙂

Oregon played well on both sides of the ball the whole game, well enough as in a top four team in the country well enough. Wisconsin fumbles with a chance to put the game away. Certainly there were several plays that could have impacted the outcome. I know there are also missed calls. And this one will be the focus of all the talk. It is obvious though, there is now a concerted effort on the part of networks to find ways to support calls made on the field. Just funny that a guy gets hit hard enough to be knocked off balance, but yet is in position to extend his arms to the point it becomes OPI. 🤔🙂

Even with a HUGE lucky break late, I think Oregon showed they were MUCH more worthy of being a playoff team than Oklahoma.

Watching the bowl games this week, Green Bay really needs to start looking to the future. I know it’s not likely that guys like Trevor Lawrence and Justin Herbert won’t be around when the time comes, but hey need to be thinking ahead. The season that Rodgers has had should increase the sense of urgency to get his replacement on the roster.

Was Alabama an undeserving team last year as well?

The NAIA National Championship is tonight at 7 on. ESPN 3. Great to see local kids doing well on the collegiate level. Yep I am a bit biased.....Mikeal Griggs from New Haven is a senior. There are a handful of Northeast Indiana kids on the roster for the Knights.

Several years ago, I was watching Mike and Mike and Golic was talking about playing in big games. He said something along the lines of, I know people say things like we want that team to be completely healthy when we play them so we can say we beat them when they were at full strength. You know what? That was complete bull. I wanted our opponents as beat up as possible. I. Don’t care how we win, I just want to win. lol

Two of the worst jobs in education, in my mind are 1. Dean of Students. I have seen a number of good people get burned out in the job. And 2. Athletic Director. Many do this job with no assistants to help. Field/court setup; running junior high events as well; planning at least 1 major fundraiser every year; and many now have other admin duties as well (teacher observations and evaluations, supervision duties before, during, and after school); along with all the admin responsibilities of being an AD. yeah, no thank you

I would add it is viewed as a stepping stone spot as well, to get a foot in the door to becoming a building admin.

Doc follows the Fort Wayne Komets religiously, and with no work in sight, he came back during that season to do radio play by play of a Komets game. The left side looked good the whole first drive. It did appear that the right side pushed the limit a bit. The angle is hard to tell for certain, I admit. But there is a play at about the 8:35 mark. The helmets of the linemen on the right are barely even with the behind of the center??

That was interesting reading. Looking at some history, Hazlitt passed away in 1993. While corporate scams did exist back then, my guess is the version/interpretation of capitalism that conservatives in power have brought on us would be criticized heavily by Hazlitt if he were alive today. While reading more about him, he also support a higher level of responsibility for business owners and employers to pay their employees well enough that the need to unionize would never be an issue. Even when I spent a Summer working in the warehouse for Lilly’s, the workers there refused to unionize. The pay and benefits at that time were better than what union people were being paid in similar jobs. I also know that the Teamsters were trying hard to get their foot in the door. My guess is that Hazliitt and Lilly were cut from the same cloth. I am not sure if Lilly employees are still treated with such regard in this day and age or not. One question I have regarding this then, is the alternative having the “right to work” laws in place? Another question.....he advocates in the article having laws in place that forbid picketing. His goal is to return to a point in time in this country where the federal government is less involved in local issues. So if laws were in place that would forbid picketing, wouldn’t that be federal overreach as well? While punishments and fines are recommended as well, are they really enforceable? If tomorrow, we see 90% of airline pilots picketing, would they actually be fined? Or even fired? If so, say they holdout until the fines are lifted? Or if they are fired, then what? Hire scabs?

I think the Niners and Chargers games are the only games this year that offense started poorly and never got on track at any point. It is frustrating to watch. As I said before, I used to put the blame squarely on McCarthy. I think we know that Rodgers has much more freedom with the offense now. He is MUCH better playing from behind in close games. This has really been a problem that he has had since he became the starter in Green Bay. Even the Super Bowl followed this script. Difference is that they had a defense that forced a LOT of turnovers.

Wright and Allen have crossed paths. Allen was DC at Ben Davis while Wright was the head coach at WC. It would be an interesting move for IU. Wright does have a connection now to a number of top recruits at IMG, as well as players he had recruited who ended up not going to IMG. Allen has recruited well in Florida, this could elevate that.
