It appears this is boiling down to a matter of perspective. If you want to post that you think Coach Jethro would be a great fit at Clampett HS, that is one thing and is fine as far as speculating goes. We have only asked to avoid the conversations along the lines of, a friend close to Coach Jethro said he is REALLY interested in the position at Campett, and is ready to leave Bugtussle HS. The AD at Bugtussle has no clue his coach is looking. Another scenario similar to the one above.....Coach Drysdale is the current coach at Clampett, but now the rumor gets out that the AD might talk to Jethro. As far as Kentucky goes, we do have an example......a Coach from this State moves down there, but decides to start looking back home. The AD in Ky finds out; confronts the coach. Coach confirms that he is just exploring the idea. AD then says you are done here then. We are not a stepping stone program.

While there are a lot of questions that need to be answered, talking to the coach is a must. Let him know about the incident. Go up the ladder (start with coach, then AD, then Principal) if there is not a response to what all is going on or why this is happening. One consideration is that the coach may not be aware this is going on.

Norwell has turf now, and played on it this last season. Columbia City does not have it yet, but the new campus includes a new stadium and a turf field. They will be in their current building and on the current field one more season.

If I were just a fan, I would agree. To clarify, Green Bay has a mixed field. They have natural grass growing on a turf field. That said, I don’t think they are far off from going fully artificial. It has only been in recent years that Lambeau has started holding concerts there. The wear and tear on the grass is noticeable. As far as ROI, I can say from our experience, it has been tremendous. Don’t just think football here. Our PE classes can do so much more outside without having to worry about tracking mud in the building during the school day. Band competitions require an artificial surface now for hosting an event. Ours will be doing that in the near future. It is nice from a football perspective to know that weather is much less of a factor.

I am a HUGE fan of Claypool from Notre Dame. He has the body of a TE, but great hands and good speed. And honestly, he has made Book look MUCH better than he actually is. He will catch anything near him and is not afraid to go across the middle.

There is an allowance for linemen at each of the academies. If memory serves me right, the standards are based on two vehicles. For the Army, it is to be able to fit in a tank, and for the Navy, it is a submarine.

The offensive line giving up just a couple of pressures today; the X factor in my mind. Mack was a non factor for most of the game. Packers left a lot of plays on the field. Rodgers said in the pre game that when they look at the two games they played really well, Aaron Jones was heavily involved. Welllllllllll.....I did not think they did a good job using him today. My brothers and I were texting during the game. It does seem this team is worse playing with a lead than they were under McCarthy. I then thought, maybe it was not just McCarthy. This offense does not adjust well to pressure. It seems like a basic thing that if you have a team down big, they are going to take some chances on defense. I am not feeling too confident about next week at this point. N my mind, if they want to make a statement going into the post season, this is the game to do that.

Clemson beat Alabama by a wider spread than they did ND; so did Alabama not belong either? While ND was the weaker of the 4 teams last year, no one else had done what they needed to replace them in that 4 slot. Now, the previous season, no doubt, BUT Bama was in a class by itself. They would have beaten the doors off of ANY team they would have played that year; even if it had been a rematch with Georgia. I would also disagree with the comment that most SEC schools are willing to do things others are not. In recent seasons, there have been 2 MAYBE 3 good teams. This year, I would say 4, giving Georgia some credit; then again, LSU certainly dispelled any thoughts about UGA. I do agree that the gap between the top few programs and the rest is as big as it has ever been. And, as others have said, for a program at a school like Notre Dame to be where they are, with the tougher admission standards. I am not making excuses for them. I would LOVE to see them take the next step as far as being competitive. Playing teams like Georgia, Clemson, Alabama down the road a bit is a good way to measure where the program is.

Might be overrating Nebraska and NW at this point. I also think when we look at tiers with the B1G, we have to look at the divisions. The West has one tier 1 team. 2 tier 2 teams. The stakes are also better for PU, and UI to break through and be in the division title picture at the end of the season; much more so that teams like IU, MD, and Rutgers ever will in the East. Getting to a conference championship would be a big step for those programs, and would have even been a huge step for MN this season. I will be curious to see if Fleck can build on their success this season, or if they fall back.

From a coaching standpoint, while it definitely is a lower tier bowl game, coaches get an extra few weeks of practice in; plenty of time to start looking at the younger talent on the roster and get quality reps in. Otherwise you wait until Spring practice.m

Yep...that was the first link in my post, just a different source. The article I posted said 4,000 layoffs, but this one says more than 3,000. I was not sure where to post is all. He is one of the ones saying regularly how great things are and how great his administration is.

Niners game was a toss up in my mind. It was a fun game to watch. Interesting call on the fake punt of no DPI. I get it. There is only so much a DB can do when you line up in punt formation. I like that exception, honestly. As Rodgers said in the press conference, I am ok with ugly wins at this point. I hope we win ugly all the way to the Super Bowl. The Redskins D is legit though. The Packers are not the only team they have frustrated. They have a decent offense....not much of a run game. I thought Haskins was a liability last year for OSU, and he showed some of his old habits yesterday, hesitating in the pocket, not looking comfortable, some throws that were off.......along with a few great plays. He definitely has some skills though. That catch by McLaurin was unreal. As far as the rest of the schedule, I don’t see the Bears staying with Green Bay. I do think the Vikings game will be a tough one. While Cousins is the weak link, they have plenty of weapons, and their defense is rock solid. If that is the only loss the rest of the way, it is not a killer. I do want them to hang on to the number 2 seed at least, which they have right now. A loss likely drops them to number 3. Could they end up playing the Vikings twice in a 3 week period?

Welllllllll, I think this will cost OSU the number 1 spot now. They may come back to win, but I still think they drop to 2nd. That score by Wiscy at the end of the half was a back breaker.
