  1. In other words, he is done in New York
  2. They were so good.....I still remember the first Colts Monday night game in Indy. It was Halloween night. We had masks on our seats. Most of them were on the MNF Team of Michaels, Gifford, and Dierdorf. One section in one of the upper corners though had Uecker masks.
  3. It will be a while. This is a budget session, so those last 61 days. The bill is in the House now. If the house approves it, it waits with others for the midpoint of the session. I am not sure of the exact date, but it's called the crossover day. Everything that was passed in the house goes to the Senate, and vice versa. If a bill passes with no changes, it goes to the Governor. It is rare that a bill does that. If the bill passes with changes, it gets sent to a conference committee. The leaders of each party pick who is on the committee with a mix of representatives and senators. The make up of the committee by party matches the % of each party; so if the GOP has 60% of the seats in the Statehouse, they get to pick 60% of the committee members. The bill the conference committee passes goes back to each chamber for a full vote. If that passes, then it goes to the Governor to sign.
  4. Classic Uecker moment:
  5. One of the greatest characters of the game. The schedule he maintained while sick is amazing. RIP Bob https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/43439250/beloved-brewers-broadcaster-bob-uecker-dies-age-90
  6. Things that stood out in the article: 1. "Attucks (5-9) is rated 32nd in the 3A Sagarin Ratings and was averaging around 51 points per game entering Saturday. Washington (4-9) is rated last in 3A and 392nd overall. It has scored fewer than 20 points in eight games and fewer than 10 points in four, including a 64-9 loss to Purdue Poly Englewood in the City tournament" 2. "Attucks, which led 38-2 after a quarter and 73-3 at halftime, ran its trap defense and high-tempo offense for almost the entire 32 minutes, and was attempting 3-pointers late in regulation. A number of key varsity players also started the fourth quarter." 3.
  7. So, I watched the video from the PMS that @Coach Nowlin posted. I guess Steichen said publicly "well, players are gonna be late" as if he was ok with it......yep, so many things snowball from that. Wrong tone to set; time to go.
  8. Fair question. He did say his daughters live in the Carolinas, so it seems like a solid reason.
  9. It was referred to as 3rd guardianship. And yep, it was (is?) fairly common.
  10. No being quiet with e admitting it. I respect great coaches regardless of who they coach for. That is why I kind of worry that the Vikings seem to have found one of those guys. The Lions sure as hell did………dammit. Imagine last year’s Purdue squad if Ivey stayed….holy cow.
  11. We had one several years ago. Kid was a RB coming from an FWCS school. He lived with mom and grandparent in FW. Dad......yes dad, lived in New Haven. He spent the 2nd semester of a school year in our building with every intention of playing football, even though he knew he had a code violation (3 games) suspension. The FWCS AD challenged it, and the IHSAA ruled him ineligible. And while a challenge was filed, the FWCS school told him if he comes back, they will lift the suspension, so he went back to that school. It's the first time I have ever been aware of the IHSAA ruling in a case where an actual address change took place, even though he had been a student here the entire 2nd semester of the prior school year.
  12. Great summary of the first round. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1CtYvDieQy/
  13. Jerry Jones released a statement making it official about 2:30 today saying McCarthy won't be back.
  14. But if both schools sign off on transfers, there really isn't anything illegal going on. I am not saying there isn't any undue influence going on, but my experience says most of the moves are legit as it's a matter of living with a different parent, or a parent moving; In other cases, you just weren't supposed to say 'athletics' out loud. 🙂
  15. To some extent, that has been happening for some time now. The new law just opens the door wider. Knowing a former executive committee member of the IHSAA, I know it's been a discussion to allow it for over a decade now. It seems it gets magnified now with what we are seeing in college with the transfer portal.
  16. Any law passed in the Statehouse and signed by the Governor goes into effect on July 1 of that year. So this would likely apply to the upcoming school year, unless the bill has a start date further out from that. But July 1 is the earliest it would go into effect.
  17. Tom Allen moving to Clemson to be the DC https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/43398128/sources-clemson-working-hire-psu-dc-tom-allen
  18. It seems like Neidig went to the Statehouse. I am guessing that there was not enough support among the IHSAA member schools.
  19. Me either. His brother could very well be drafted before him.
  20. That name came up. The crazy thing would be is that any owner KNOWS it's a package deal with him and Shadeur. Even crazier is I have seen that NFL scouts are grading him out to be a 2nd or 3rd rounder and not a top pick by any stretch.
  21. Not a fan of legislators stepping in, especially in this case where the IHSAA was likely heading that direction any way.
  22. A clip from draft day in Detroit had Gooddell saying no games on the PMS
  23. That came up too.....you keep McCarthy and let Quinn and Moore go. My guess is neither of them would have any interest. Dallas' biggest issue is their owner. They both know Jones wants a coach that will be a yes man to him.
