  1. I was thinking Barth, but he may be outside the age limit for this topic by now. 😂
  2. I am thinking this should just be a home game for whoever would be the highest seeded team any more. Everything about this game, and many times even the game itself, is just ridiculous.
  3. That is your standard???? seriously....lol
  4. and look at you ignoring the fact he fired a black coach with a depleted roster after one year. lol And yeah, I am skeptical......no chance Lovie gets hired if Flores does not file his suit. Timing is everything and optics matter.
  5. The Texans owner knows he has a total shit show on the field. He desperately needed something positive. He is a moron when it comes to this team. He can now boast "look at me, I hired a black coach".......and wants us to stop thinking "Look at him, he fired a black coach with a shit roster after just one season". No chance Lovie is successful there with that owner involved. In just a few short years, they took a roster that was in the hunt for division titles, and unloaded not only great players, but great locker room guys in Watt and Hopkins. I am sure there are others.
  6. Like with anything in life, things do not typically get talked about until it impacts individuals themselves or a large enough group of people.
  7. yeah......ok I explained earlier when the change occurred.
  8. no glasses on here; I have always had a realistic view of Kelly. I know he is an ass, and has acted horribly on the sidelines. My guess is your bias is impacting your perspective more than mine. I stand by my comment.
  9. I think being paid to lose games is the secondary issue in the lawsuit. His claim is that race was a factor in him not getting a job. The case hinges on the communication between him and Bellichick. If the texts are authentic, then the Giants did not follow protocol in the process. Their interview with Flores was scheduled after they decided on Daboll.
  10. That I will disagree with. The change was significant.
  11. That makes sense, but what still does not is the comment that Ben Davis and Chesterton want a piece of the Cadets as if there was some sort of axe to grind, or that the Cadets are the type of premier program that has a HUGE target on it.
  12. This does not make much sense. Why do either "want a piece of the Cadets"? There is absolutely no connection or history between Concordia and either of these programs.
  13. I think that may be a two way street. The public school teams in Louisville and Cincy don't like playing the X's and Trinity or the other GCL teams
  14. Well, one story we already know is that Notre Dame's President, Father John Jenkins.....not the AD mind you, sat Kelly down at one point, maybe in his 2nd season? and told him the short temper and constant yelling thing is not a good representation of the University. It was kind of an or else.....moment for Kelly.
  15. He was doing a good job. The Dolphins caught a lot of heat for firing him. Someone made a comparison….Flores was in Miami for a short time, David Culley gets fired by the Texans in just his first year…a year without his QB, and the year they lost JJWatt, along with a bunch of other crap going on in the front office and with the owner, while Bill O’Brien was able to hang on as coach and GM for a longer period of time. Thanks Bob for explaining the class action aspect of this. Sounds like what he will need is to prove that other minority coaches were interviewed after an owner or president made a decision on who to hire. If he had just stuck with suing the Giants organization, his case may be easy to prove. It also sounds like Gooddell is letting the owners do whatever they want, but the reality is they are his bosses. There are some things that could be done immediately. The Giants flaunted the Rooney rule in the league’s face if the texts are accurate. They should lose not only draft picks, but take a hot against their salary cap. You take a few mill off a team’s cap for something like this, teams will do what is needed real quick.
  16. All that dancing for nothing…lol
  17. Looks like that problem just got bigger https://thespun.com/nfl/afc-north/cleveland-browns/hue-jackson-claims-browns-paid-him-money-to-lose-games
  18. I get that, but from the lens looking the other way; people could look at the record of teams I was a part of and say I had very little success. But for me, I look at many of the young men I have coached and see the things they are doing; working hard, being great husbands and becoming great fathers and leaders, and see some getting into coaching and teaching as well, and I know.....as John Mellencamp says "an honest man's pillow is his peace of mind". I would say the coaches I have been blessed to work with, regardless of win loss records, we have been successful.
  19. If the only definition of a successful program is the amount of hardware collected, the game in our State is in FAR worse shape than I thought it was.
  20. Commanders? https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/33199548/washington-selects-commanders-new-team-name-two-season-search
  21. A lot of people seem to be laughing this off, but to me it seems he has some solid evidence. It’s obvious that owners do not take the Rooney rule seriously, but it’s also obvious the people in charge of the league do not take it seriously either.
  22. add to it the other wrench thrown in this that still has a ripple effect; players were granted an extra year of eligibility from 2020; the year that did not count against anyone's eligibility. There was no timeline for players to decide to take that extra year and stay; so it really backed up the whole recruiting process.
